Chapter 34

Roman POV
I make sure Kat is resting and recovering. She will be okay if she remains calm. She is a young vibrant vampire. It will not take her long to fully recover. I am afraid for her if she becomes too upset. I would not want her to lash out at Benton. He is much stronger than her.I can handle him she might not be able to.

I take Thomas away from Kat so we can talk privately. I need to make sure he has his mind in the right place before we embark on this en devour.
"I have a pretty good idea where he took her, but I need you to be prepared before we go looking for her. Benton is an evil bastard. We need to get her and get out. I will handle Benton after she is safe," I say to Thomas.
Thomas shakes his head. I know what he is thinking. He is thinking that he will kill Benton. It is not that easy.
"Why does he want her?" Thomas asks me.
"I have no idea. Maybe because she is happy. Maybe because he is being a dick or maybe he just got up this morning and decided he wanted to fuck up her life," I say to Thomas.
"What about Kat?" Thomas asks.
"What about her? She cannot go with us," I say to Thomas.
"The hell i am not. I am going to help bring her home," Kat says.
I turn to see my sweet little wife standing in the entry way, she is mad as hell and ready to fight.
"Kat, you should stay here in case she escapes and comes home," I say to her.
"You know damn good and well that is not going to happen. You are being ridiculous Roman. I am going," Kat say stomping her foot in disapproval.
I go to her. I pull her into my arms. "Listen to me," I say to her as I stroke her hair. "Listen to me closely, you need to stay here. It is dangerous. I need you to be here seriously in case she tries to call home or comes home," I say to Kat.
"I will stay behind, but you have to keep me up to date on everything. I want to know the second you have her," Kat says.
I hold her tightly. "I promise you the second I have Reese, I will call you so you know she is safe," I say to her.
She holds on to me. I love that she loves Reese as much as I do. Kat makes this family complete.
"Listen I am going to take Thomas and we are going to go get Reese. I need you to promise me you will stay put," I say looking deep into her beautiful eyes.
"I promise. I do not like it, but I promise," Kat says.
I kiss her forehead. I know she is worried but this is something that I do not need her to be involved in at all. I have no idea what will happen when we go to pull Reese away from Benton. I want her safe no matter what I have to do. I will kill him but her safety is first.
"Come on Thomas. We have a long way to ride to get her if she is where I think she is," I say.
"Where do you think she is?" Thomas asks.
"I believe he took her home," I say.
"Home?" Thomas questions me.
"They has a house a couple of hours from here. I bet he took her there. He kept the house. I never told Reese. He was supposed to sell it but he kept it. I guess he thought she would come back some day," I say.
"What happened between them exactly?" Thomas asks.
"He broke her heart for one. This is really something you should ask Reese about. It is not my place to tell the things that went on between them," I say to Thomas.
"I understand. I only wanted to know what I am walking into tonight," Thomas say.
"You are walking into hell to get your wife back is what you are walking into tonight," I say to him.
"I got it," Thomas says.
"Understand something, she is going to be broken into pieces when we get her back. He has a strange way of breaking her down. She does not do well with dealing with him," I say to him.
"I understand. I will be there for her. I am not going to run out on her. I am here for her. Roman, I love Reese. I am not like her ex husband or Luca," Thomas says.
I believe him. I know he is in love with Reese. She deserves to be happy. Benton has to die. He will never leave her alone or give her the peace she deserves.
Thomas and I go out of the house to get in the car. I look back to see Kat watching us out of the window. I know she is a nervous wreck over all of this. I wish I could comfort her more, but I have to get to Reese. Some day soon Kat it will be peaceful in our life. I promise to make sure your life is peaceful.
I get into the car with Thomas.
"When we get there i need you to get her and get her out no matter what she says. I will handle Benton," I say to Thomas.
"Understood, Roman," Thomas say.
I crank the car and pull out of the drive way. It is not a long drive. I only hope we make it there before he breaks her down. I do not want her to be like she was when she left him before. I hope her love for Thomas and herself with help her through the ordeal. Stay strong Reese big brother is on his way to save you.
