chapter 21

Roman and Kat go to the dungeon bar to get a drink and talk about everything that has happened between them. When they walk into the bar they see Luca and Reese.
“I think he is scared of her,” Roman says to Kat.
“You think,” Kat says.
The two go to a table. “Are you hungry Kat,” Roman asks.
“I am starving. I have not eaten anything except Tequila,” she says.
“Lets order you some food,” Roman says.
They notice Reese and Luca look a little tense. “You think they are okay?” Kat says.
“Yeah, he has to decide if he can handle the situation or let it go,” Roman says.
“I agree. I think he wants her. I know he damn sure doesn’t want to see her with anyone else,” Kat says.
“hey this is my time,” Roman says with a laugh.
“You are absolutely right sir, order me some food,” Kat says.
Roman smiles at her. “I was serious earlier, I think I am in love with you,” Roman says.
“I was too,” Kat says.
“We barely know each other,” Roman says.
“I know enough,” Kat says.
“I am not crazy obsessive. I won’t interfere with your life. I just want to be a part of it. If you will let me,” Roman says.
“Roman, you know what I do for a living, right?” Kat says.
“I am fully aware. You know what I am right?” Roman says.
“I am fully aware,” Kat says.
“I guess that makes us perfect for each other,” Roman says.
“I would give it up for you,” Kat says.
“I would never ask you to stop being you,” Roman says.
Kat begins to cry. “Why?” Kat says.
“Why what?” Roman says.
“Why would you just accept me with no questions?” Kat asks.
“Because there is something about you that I know I need in my life,” Roman says.
“Order my food and bring it back to our room, we can stay here tonight. Let’s let them have the apartment,” Kat says.
“We can do that or we can go to my place?” Roman says.
“We are already here and I want you now, but I have go to have food,” Kat says.
Roman smiles at her. “Go I will be down in a minute,” Roman says.
“Are you going to check on your sister?” Kat asks.
“You think I should?” Roman asks.
“I am not sure,” Kat says.
“Go on I will be down with you something to eat,” Roman says.
Roman order Kat a burger and fries. He gets another bottle of Tequila from the bar. He debates on checking on Reese.
Reese sees him at the bar and decides to chat with him a second. She excuses herself from Luca and walks over to the bar where Roman is waiting on Kat’s food.
“hey brother,” Reese says.
“You know humans need food, I am getting Kat something to eat. Seems all you fed her was Tequila,” Roman says.
“Ha HA, very funny brother,” Reese says.
“You and Luca been up here the entire time,” Roman asks.
“You know these pesky humans need food,” Reese says.
“It looks intense,” Roman says.
“Yeah well we still have a lot to work out,” Reese says.
“He either needs to accept you or let you go,” Roman says.
“I know and I made that point very clear,” Reese says.
“Sister, you deserve to have someone who will love you and be there for you. I hate this,” Roman says.
“Like Kat,” Reese says.
“Reese, I am going to tell you something, and do not flip out. I am crazy about her. I barely know her. I have this feeling about her,” Roman says.
“She is fantastic isn’t she?” Reese says.
“Yes she is,” Roman says.
The waiter brings Roman Kat’s order and the bottle of Tito’s. “I have to go feed my future wife,” Roman says.
“I hope so,” Reese says.
“You think so,” Roman says.
Reese nods and pats her brother on the back. “Tell Kat not to get too drunk I need her to work tomorrow,” Reese says.
“Too late, I think she needs tomorrow off,” Roman says.
Roman leaves the bar and Reese returns to Luca. She sits down at the table with Luca. “Everything okay?” Luca asks.
“Yeah they are getting along great unlike us,” Reese says.
“Reese I am fine. I am just asking questions,” Luca says.
“Luca I am going to put it to you like this, okay. You either accept me for me or let me go,” Reese says.
“I do accept you for you,” Luca says.
“No you don’t. You are still freaking out about me and who I am. It stops tonight. I am going down to our room. If you care about me then come down after you eat, if not go home,” Reese says.
Reese leaves Luca at the table. She has taken her stand and left him with a decision to make. She goes down to the dungeon and gets Luca’s key from Tony. She opens the door to the room.
She goes in and slips off her shoes. “This day has been insane,” she says.
She goes over to the tub and turns the hot water on. She pours bubble into the tub and waits for it to fill up. She takes off her clothes and get into the tub.
“He probably went home,” she says.
She leans back into the tub and relaxes. Just as she is about to fall asleep in the hot bubble bath, she hears a key in the door. Its Luca.
“I will figure it out,” he says as he walks toward the tub.
“Get in here with me,” she says.
“I brought you a bottle of Tequila,” he says.
“Good,” she says.
“Don’t be cold toward me,” Luca says.
“I’m not, but I want you to understand the decision you are making. You can’t dangle my heart around,” Reese says.
“I am not trying to hurt you Reese. I am in love with you and it scares me,” Luca says.
