Chapter 31

I feel awful ,I have been puking all morning and my head hurts like crazy. Xavier wanted to take me to hospital but thanks to the phone call he had concerning work ,he left making me promise I would call every one hour.

What could be wrong with me? Maybe it's just a flu.It will pass .

"Madam, sir Alex is here to see you, he's waiting for you at the living room."geez, the way my head is hurting right now, I totally don't feel like talking to anyone.Urgh!!

"Someone woke up at the wrong side of the bed."Alex commented grinning, making me roll my eyes at him.

"What's up sis,you don't look good at all."

"Is it that obvious?Gosh I feel horrible , like so damn horrible. I think it's just a flu."

"You sure?"he asks, gently rubbing my shoulder.

"A hundred percent."

"How did your proposal go huh?"he asks side elbowing me.

"You son of a,you knew he was going to propose,you could have at least given me a headlight."

"Naah, I wanted it to be a surprise proposal,I wish I could have seen your face, I bet you were like oh-my"he says imitating a fan girl.

"Alex you-"I was stopped by the urge to puke, making me run to the washroom,Alex hot to my heels.

"That's it!I'm taking you to the hospital,no buts sis"I was too tired to argue,the least I could do was nod my head.

I can't be at ease knowing that she's ill,I'm at a business meeting staring at the young man in front of me whose trying real hard I might say in doing his presentation.I peek at my phone every passing moment for any text or call, but there's nothing.

I can't take it, I have to call her.
"Excuse me ladies and gents,I have to make an urgent call."they curtly nod as I head out, taking my phone out and dialling her number.

She didn't pick up on the first ring which she always did, making me tense.

Her phone is ringing but she ain't picking up, I started imagining on the worst scenarios,what if she fainted and no one is there for her.What if-

I call up the house and the maid picks, informing me that she had left with Alex.

I head back to the meeting,once it ended I went back in my office to finish some work before I could go home.

There was a knock on the door and my secretary enters informing me of a guest .

"Does he have an appointment?"I ask looking at my laptop.

"Actually no sir,she says that it's quite urgent."
A she?Who could it be?

"Okay, you can send her in."

I'm so nervous, I really don't appreciate being in a hospital,it makes me so damn anxious. The atmosphere is filled with the smell of medicine making me think of needles and did I mention how I loathe needles....

"The doctor is ready to see you."the nurse says making me shudder.

"Let's go."Alex says making me nod, swallowing the bile on my throat.

I enter the large room,a feeling of fear engulfing me. I notice the doctor cladded in a white dust coat(also known as a lab coat)

"I would wait outside okay, everything is gonna be okay."I nod as he walks out giving me a peck on the cheek.

"Please sit down Rina, now tell me what's up?"he asks smiling showing off his white set of  teeth.

I tell him my symptoms while he scribbles on a notebook.

"Okay,so I want you to pee on this sample bottle and take it to the lab and we also have to take a sample of your blood.The results will be out after 15 minutes."he says as I nod my head.

"Come in."I say camly as I hear a knock on the door, still concentrated on my work.

The clicking of the heels,the shut off the door and that familiar voice definitely stopped me by my tracks.

"Hello honey, missed me?!"

"Lucy??"I gasp not believing the sight in front of me .Why did she have to come back when my scars had begin to heal.

"It's feels damn good to see you again."she says smiling.

"Okay Rina, your results are out."the doctor declares giving me a reassuring smile.

Alex had decided to wait for me outside as the doctor staired at the sheets on his hand.

"Well, it's nothing to worry about."he says smiling making me release a breath I never knew I was holding.

"I knew it was just a flu, thanks doc ...I hope that's all."I say picking up my purse, I didn't want to take any bit of my time here.

"Actually no miss Rina, congratulations,you are pregnant."

What in the actual name....

"What?"I whisper, taking my sit.

"Yes Rina,you are one month pregnant."the doctor smiles showing me the results.

I receive the papers trembling,and on seeing the results, I couldn't hide the smile on my face and the tear of joy that slipped from my eye.I'm going to be a mother, Xavier is going to be a father again  and Levi..Levi is going to have a sibling to play with.

I slowly place a hand on my stomach,a hand I placed indicating either my hunger or my fullness but now.... now it indicates the life growing inside me,my baby, our baby .

"We are going to love you baby."I smile as I place the sheet inside my purse. I shake my hands with the doctor and thank him before heading out, finding Alex waiting for me.

"So... what is wrong?."Alex asks with a face full of worry.

No... I won't tell him now, I have to tell Xavier first, I can't wait to see the way he would react on telling him the news,infact I will go to his office right away.

"Sis??"

"Oh yeah, actually as I expected,it was just a flu, nothing to worry about."I say smiling.

"Oh thank heavens."

"Let's go?"
"Sure."

"Sis,you know It's grandpa and grandma's anniversary,so we will have to go back home for three weeks since we also have to finish dad's project."Alex says breaking the silence as he takes me to Xavier's work place.

"Ooh yeah, I wish I could go to but you know they need me here."

"I understand sis,that's why we are going to go and you stay here, don't worry we will explain it to them."

"Thanks, tell them I love them so much okay?"

"Sure."he smiles as he stops the car in front of the building.

"Have to go pick my girlfriend up.Love you."

"Love you too and do greet her for me."

Okay,this is it.

With every step I take towards his office, I imagine  how happy he will be to see me.He will be there waiting for me,he will hug me tight and kiss me and there I will place his hand on my tummy and tell him.

"Xavier ,you are going to be a father,to either a son again,or to a cute little princess." Can't wait to see how he will react .
