Chapter 33

Nobody learns without getting it all wrong.

I know you hate me. Not hate,you despise and loathe me.Despise,the look in her eyes when she said she despises me . It shattered and broke me inside and the moment she left my office, I knew she was gone forever.

I told her that I won't make her cry, that I would fight for her but....I don't know, I don't know why I didn't say anything, I don't know why I was transfixed on my ground and didn't say anything.No, I didn't use her as Lucy says,I love her... only her.But why didn't I do anything?On seeing Lucy again, everything came back,all the love I had for her,she was my first love,but when Rina left the office,her betrayal came, I was shaken out of everything but it turns out I was late,she was gone.

Do I love Lucy you might ask? I don't, I can never love her again because I found someone else,that beautiful face,my angel but now, I don't think if she's still mine. I don't know why I did what I did,but I guess, regret comes after an act.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah", I scream as I throw the contents on the table. I dial home to ask for her.

"Is Rina home?"I ask slowly, hoping that she will tell me that she's home, hoping that I will find her in our room and tell her that everything is a mistake, that I'm sorry I didn't stand up for her, that I love her.

"No sir,she brought Levi home and left."the maid spoke.

"Did she carry anything,her bags, clothes?"I ask as I rub my temple.

"No sir,she just left and Levi locked himself in the room crying hysterically sir."

Fuck my life. I destroyed my family. I destroyed her and my worst night mare has come true;she leaves us,she left.

I slowly open my eyes but shut them quick as the bright lights in the room blind me.Room? why I'm I here,the last thing I remember is that I was out in the cold,what happened-
Wait,my baby ,my baby....

"My child....you are awake."
"Dad?"no,I don't want to be here, I don't want to be near him or his family. I have to go far away from here, this is a chapter in my life that I have decided to close, although it will look hard but I have to, there's no need being here, there's no need for fighting for him when he won't be mine.I know you would tell me that I'm weak,tell me that I should fight for my family, for my child's family.But what could you do if it were you, could you have fought,or could you have let it go?

"We were from a business meeting and found a woman laid on the ground with the rain hitting hard but I was even shocked to find it was you,what happened my child?."he said looking at me with sympathy and adoration.

"He doesn't love me anymore,he chose her over me?"

"Who?"he asks in confusion.

"Lucy,his ex-wife and first love."I say trying not to cry,I'm tired of doing so.

"Don't tell Xavier I am here please."

"Sorry my child,he already knows."

"I have to go."I say standing up but come to a halt from the sound of the door bell followed by his voice.

"Where's she?"

"Rina.... please forgive me, I don't know what came over me,it was a mistake that I did and I'm sorry,I know no matter how many times I apologise it won't make up for the thing I did to you.I'm sorry angel, I love-"he said as he knelt begging before me.

"Stop!!!! Xavier stop, I don't want to hear anything ,I don't want to listen to your fake love,all my life has been a damn lie,all of you....you have been a fake charade, your vows to me were meant to be broken,and you say you are sorry......you expect me to forgive you, I hate you,get out!Just get out!! I don't want to ever see you in my life, I don't feel anything for you anymore... I don't."

"You love me, I know you do,look directly in my eyes and say that you don't,look into my eyes angel and say you despise me, I want to know it from your eyes."he said resting his forehead against me, rubbing his nose against my cheek unfortunately sending tingles of pleasure all through me, making my heart beat, I wanted to hug him, touch him ,kiss him and forgive him, declare my profound love for him.

But every time I close my eyes, I see them and their lies, although the heart wants what it wants but it's deem time I control it,for it to know that I'm the one in control.

"I said get out!"I shout pushing him catching him off guard as he falls on the ground.He cried but his voices meant nothing to me, I won't give him the chance to be a father to my unborn child..... because.... because he doesn't deserve it.

"Okay angel, I'll leave.But know that I love you, I miss you and I'm sorry."he said as he stood up and left.

I decided to hide everything from Alex, whenever he could call, I could fake a smile although he couldn't see me and say I'm okay.I'm going to get myself out of here and start a new life.That's a promise baby.

A week later.....

"What's wrong child?"Xavier's father holds me before I could land to my fall.

He can't know that I'm pregnant.

"Nothing I just feel-"I don't know what happened but after that, darkness suddenly consumed me...

Meanwhile.....

"Welcome miss."the maid opens the mahogany door revealing a young sophisticated woman in a tight red dress.She smiled at her but the woman scoffed as she threw her her purse.

"Unbelievable."she mutters as she strides inside, looking at the mansion.

"Mmh, nothing has changed."she says rolling her eyes as she takes two steps forward and motions for the terrified maid to come towards her.

"Where's your boss?"Lucy asks eyeing the poor maid in front of her from top to bottom, seeing her as a filth that she shouldn't waste her precious time engaging with.

"She's at lady Rina's room ma'am"the woman says as she shows her the direction to the room and leaving immediately ,not wanting to face the woman's wrath, cause she knows her from before,the woman that is known for mistreating anyone below,the devil as they called her.

"Unbelievable stupid maids, now where the hell is that filthy woman's room and what the heck is she still doing here?"Lucy says raising her brows as he goes towards the direction the maid showed her.

"Please don't tell Xavier that I'm bearing his child,I don't want him to know,I'm going to be the father and mother to my unborn child.Xavier doesn't need me in his life and I am willing to raise this child on my own."Rina pleads as she looks at Mr Montez,she can't hide it anymore for the doctor summoned to check on her after she collapsed revealed it all to Mr Montez,that the woman was pregnant,bearing his grandchild.

Mr Montez being happy was an understatement,he can't make a promise to hide such news to his son,his going to be a father again and moreso from the woman she loved.

"I'm sorry my child, that is something I can't hide from my son,sooner or later he is going to know, I know that whatever happened between you is unforgivable, but this is a child in the line,he has to grow up with love from both parents ,set your pride behind Rina."Xavier's dad said in wisdom,as he placed his hand on the shoulders of a thoughtful Rina, believing that she will make the right decision even if she doesn't, he's going to tell.

But all this time,the villain has been hearing everything from behind the closed door,yes....Lucy it is,she found Rina's room and she won't let whatever  she heard get to another.

She had come for a different purpose,a different motive,she didn't know that Rina was now living at his ex-father in law's house and it turns out her visit was worth it.

She smirked as she thought of a perfect plan.
