Chapter 34

Self love is the best love.


This ring,his ring,why do I still have it? I should give it back to him,I'm not going to be left with anything that belongs to him, anything that will remind me of him, except for this child. I say rubbing my belly.

I inform Xavier's father that I  was going out,not telling him where exactly but making sure to come back early to prepare supper ,for the maids and drivers were given a day off today.

I take a cab that takes me directly to the office in not more than 30 minutes, I brush off the wrinkle on my dress and match inside after paying and thanking the driver.This is the last time I'm going to be here.

Meanwhile at Mr Montez's mansion (Xavier's dad)

The door bell chirms and the old man releases out a frustrated sigh.

"Joanne,go get the door."he says as he rubs his chin,but he's followed by another silence,not a usual one for he is accustomed to the maid always answering him by a yes sir,or a got it!!

He feels as if something is not right,that usual feeling one has when he's going to board a plane for the first time or the feeling that something real bad is going to happen,he shakes his head, brushing off the feeling ,but then, the bell chirms again,this time louder,the sound echoing throughout the quiet house as he remembers that the maids were given a day off by Rina.Such a darling,he thought,as he smiles and wakes up from his once a comfortable zone, slowly going towards the door.

Who could it be? Rina... maybe she forgot something.He mutters to himself  and opens the door knob revealing the last person he could think of.Lucy ,as she smiled at him.What in the world is she doing here?

"It's good you are here,and from the looks of it... alone"Lucy smirks as the old man looks at her bored,he didn't want to deal with her at all.

"Sir, Rina is here to see you."
"Rina..."I quickly stand up from my seat as she comes in, looking pale, the usual spark in her eyes gone and I'm the cause of it.

I go towards her,in an attempt to hug her,kiss her and have her in my embrace,but she stops me by her raised palm.

"Angel...."I whisper.

"Don't! I'm here to give you back something that belongs to you."she says as she looks at her finger.No, please no.

"Take it,it wasn't meant for me anyways-it's over, thanks for being in my life, your presence in my life opened my eyes to realize how stupid I have been,how cheap I was to accept your love that quick,how naive I am.But no, not anymore.As  they say,once beaten  twice shy, I used to laugh on such an adage and found it to be just a saying not knowing it could happen to me..."

Back in the mansion.

"What do you want Lucy?"Mr Montez asks as he closes the door, knowing that she was following him by the clicking of her heels.

"What a way to welcome your once upon a time daughter in law , I thought we were family."she places both of her hands on her chest, faking hurt while he just scoffed,as she rolled her eyes in return.

"Turns out you being my daughter in law was one big mistake,a bullet that we all dodged,thank heavens."

"I won't beat about the bush since I'm a straight forward person and I got places to be. I know you know I was here before and I heard everything."she says as she takes a place on the sofa, crossing her legs.

"Angel we can fix this, let's talk."

"There's nothing to talk about, I came to do what I had to do and I promise to never bother you again-"and he pressed his lips with mine,he kissed me as if I was something he had lost and gotten back,he kissed me as if I was his life line, his true love..

But in return,a push and a tight slap is what I gave,the prints of my fingers in printed on his left cheek.

"Know this Xavier,the once crazy ass love I had for you is long gone, there's nothing left here for you, your rejection will always be what I see whenever I think of you and that's how much it really hurt me."I leave the ring on his desk, leave his office, leave his building and wiped the tear that betrayed me  by slipping from my eye. I think this is where I say,the chapter is closed and done.It was a mistake I did in letting him have control of my heart and I learned from mine.

"So if you know, what do you want?"Mr Montez asks losing his patience.

"Well, I don't want Xavier to find out,so I want you to keep your mouth shut,Rina as I can see,she doesn't want her baby daddy to find out,stupid woman,but it really works in my favor,the only person left is you and I am here to make sure thay you don't say a word out of it."Lucy said as she wore her blavk gloves,Mr Montez eyeing  her every move.

"There's nothing you can do to stop me,this word will come out in one way or another and I'm going to make sure Xavier finds out,they deserve to be happy and you came back to destroy their happiness but listen Lucy you are never going to succeed.They are destined to be together and you lost your chance to have Xavier when you left him."he spit as he stood up.This time making Lucy furious as she placed her hand on her purse.

He went slowly towards the wall behind him,slowly pressing on it ,making sure that Lucy did not see him.The old man knew what she was capable of,he had already done a background check on her and discovered the skulls in her closet.He knew she was  dangerous and would do anything to get things done her way,even if it meant killing.

"I knew you were not going to cooperate, that's why I'm going to do it my way.."and she took out her gun from the purse shooting him six times aiming it straight to his heart as she smiled in victory  for she knows that now nothing can get in her way  now.She killed the poor man in cold blood,she did not flinch nor stop,she was used to kill,if she killed her own father who was he that she couldn't do it cold heartedly ?She is a monster,a murderer and she knows it.

"The-truth-will -come out....that's a promise.See -you in hell."he stuttered as blood came out in jets from his mouth ,falling with a thud on the once white floor which was now covered by blood,his blood.

"I always get what I want,and nothing can get into my way not even you old man."she said without remorse,wiping the gun she used and throwing it beside the body,kicking his leg.
"Rest in pieces."she said, taking out her dark sheds as she put them on and quickly hurried to get out of the mansion,her job was done and there was no evidence that she did it,she had already paid someone to tamper with the CCTV cameras and she was clean but she didn't know that the old man was also smart,he had left a trace,but who would find it?And the big question is ,would it be at the right time?

As he said,the truth will  come out!!!But how soon?!!!
