CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE
Senya
I put my helmet on to get on top of my horse Gravyer.
I had him ever since I was a child.
He's quite old now but no horse can come over Gravyer, chocolate Arabian with a white diamond in the center of his forehead.
My feet in the stirrups as I gently kicked his flank to make him move forward. "To Mystic Forest."
We galloped quickly the river I said goodbye to my parents passed us by as well as trees and rocks entering the forest, it was just me and Gravyer now, and I wasn't coming back until I get my hands on the past king, it will give me satisfaction to see the son of a bitch suffer.
I felt a smile cross my lips as we pushed faster, but I had to get there fast to tell Barinor the plan.
It will take me a day or two to get there without Barinors dragon, but I don't trust riding that thing.
I worry for Celeste after the outburst that arose at the funeral but she's strong and I know she can protect herself even though she nearly got herself killed.
'What am I going to do with you, Celeste?' I questioned in my head all the things that happened this past week.
If I were to be asked if I'd do this two weeks ago I'd deny it, but I wouldn't change a thing.
Celeste
I finished getting bathed and my white hair pinned up in an updo, and a whole new outfit. It felt good to finally be clean, I don't remember anything that had happened when I was in a deep sleep, it was just black, nothing but pure darkness.
I shivered at the thought of what would have happened if I didn't wake up, maybe everyone would be better off. No I can't think that way, this is now 'my' kingdom I have to be strong. "Celeste?"
I looked up at Aris, her eyes filled with tears as she went down on her knees in front of me.
"Yes?" I asked, as she laid her head onto my lap, like we did as we were kids when she was scared or upset.
I smoothed out her long ponytail and she closed her eyes. "When I watched you get carried in and you were so full of blood I-I was so scared and the rest of them, everyone thought you were dead!"
"It's alright, Aris. I'm perfectly fine now." I reassured her, as she sniffled her held back tears.
She nodded, lifting her head from my lap as Asiya placed the last pin in my hair.
"Do you know if we have any more knights around the castle?" I questioned.
"Yes, they are mostly stationed surrounding the castle." Asiya replies by taking her hands away from my hair.
"That's the first thing I need to do, we need to find that amulet as fast as possible." I replied, standing from the stool.
"Hold on, the amulet is gone? I haven't even noticed." Aris said in a worried tone.
"One of the fae took it, and I have to get it back. Who knows what Chaos it could cause." I say sighing, as I smoothed out the front of my dress.
"Agreed, is there anything we can do while you talk to the knights?" Asiya asks, putting away the rest of the hair pins.
I thought for a moment, I was quite hungry.
"Aris, could you make me a steak and potatoes? Once finished, the two of you may eat with me as well." I ordered, as I kept looking at the door as if Senya would appear at any moment but knowing very well he left a few hours ago.
She eyed Asiya for a moment before replying. "Yes of course, will you like red wine as well?"
"That would be lovely, as for you Asiya, you're coming with me." In truth I had a fear of being alone, Asiya proved herself capable of protecting me, Aris hasn't fought a day in her life, and I want to keep it that way.
"Understood, I'll take your lead." Asiya replies, shrugging her shoulders not thinking much of it.
"Aris, keep an eye on my food, I don't want anyone trying to poison me after the fiasco that happened a few days ago." I say thinking of how everyone yelled at me that morn.
"I will make sure no one else will touch it." She nods as she speaks, and we leave the room.
Aris to the kitchen and Asiya with me towards the stationed guards.
The door guard held open the door in silence as we made our way outside.
"What's the real reason you want us to stay so close?" Asiya asked, attempting to keep up with my stride.
"I don't want to be alone, I got so used to having Senya around that being alone, especially here, feels dangerous." I answered honestly.
"-And me specifically going with you to talk to the knights is because-..." Asiya's question lingered for a moment.
"I saw you fight, I know if needed you can keep me safe, Aris hasn't fought a day in her life, she's still quite innocent and I plan on keeping it that way for a while longer." I say honestly, as we turned the corner to one of the knights.
Our conversation went to a sudden halt, I walked up to the knight. "Your majesty."
"Good evening, how has the guarding been going?" I asked, making simple conversation.
"It's been a normal day, if that says anything." He says keeping his eyes on the distance ahead.
"I have an order for you." I began, he finally made eye contact with me.
"I was told to stay put, I only answer to the king." He says looking back at the far out city.
"Have some respect, she is your queen." Asiya says angrily, I placed a hand on her shoulder.
"What I am saying is not a request knight, it is an order." I say calmly.
"-And if I don't?" He asks, raising his eyebrows.
"I really don't think you want to go that route, knight." I say narrowing my eyes.
"I'll decide on that milady, go back to your castle and have some tea." He says huffed.
I grabbed him by the ear and let the flames go through my veins, burning his ear until it turned black. He screamed in agony falling to his knees. "Do not, disobey me."
"Alright, alright. I'll do whatever you want." With those words I used my magic to heal him, all except the tip of his ear.
"I need you to find a fae, one that lost his mind. He has an am-necklace that belongs to my mother and I need it back." I say, finally letting him go.
