Chapter 49 Forced
Brielle POV
I was sitting in my office while checking the share market reports of my company's stock shares.
I got a call from my uncle.
"Yes uncle," I said while reading the stock reports.
"Bri, you have to come to my office as soon as possible. There was an emergency." I can feel his voice cracking at the end.
My heart was so heavy, and my stomach churned.
"Is everything okay, uncle? Is grandpa okay?" My voice was so heavy.
"He's fine, Bri, don't worry, just come to my office as soon as possible," he said, and I sighed in relief.
I swallowed. "I'm coming."
I ran towards my car and rashly drove towards my uncle's office as soon as possible. Finally, when I reached there, I quickly ran towards the elevator.
I was about to enter his office. I opened the gate widely, but I paused when I heard the hard voice of Ivaan.
"I won't let that happen. Did you understand that? I've already gone through worse because of your selfishness and benefits. Now I won't let Bri go through the same," he screamed and slammed the pen holder hard over the floor.
My uncle stood up from his big chair and glared at Ivaan.
What is happening here? I've never seen Ivaan talking this rudely with my uncle before, especially when we were small. He used to love this father so much, to respect him so much. Then what happened suddenly, which changed the whole personality, to his advantage?
"Ivaan, uncle," I said while stepping into the office.
"Bri," my uncle's eyes lit up when he saw me.
"Bri, you won't do anything that dad will tell you to do," Ivaan quickly said, narrowing his eyes at Uncle
"Ignore him, Bri; your brother lost his senses as a result of his emotional folly," Uncle shook his head and quickly pulled a set of papers from the drawer.
I frowned looking at those papers. What was the purpose of Uncle's calling me here, and why ivaan I was denying me to do anything that Uncle would tell me to do?
"Get these signed with Zuriel, Bri," my uncle said, handing me their papers.
"What is this?" I muttered, looking at their papers.
"Dad," Ivaan said, glaring at his uncle.
"Shut up and mind your own business," his uncle snapped at him.
I quickly started reading those papers.
My eyes widened slightly as I read what was written on them.
It was written that Zuriel's part of all the shares he owns in the Richardson empire, which was eighty percent, he owns almost all the Richardson empire, and the remaining twenty percent was owned by his dad, Mr. Jared Richardson. It will be transferred to my name.
I quickly threw their acres away as if they would burn me anytime.
"What the heck is this?" I said, looking at my uncle.
My uncle closed his eyes and pressed his lips together in a thin line. "Listen Bri, don't be an emotional fool like Ivaan, just make Zuriel sign those," he said, placing his hands over my shoulder.
I shook my head. "I will never," I said to him, looking straight into his eyes.
I don't care if he feels bad or good, but I'm not going to do this to my husband. If he would have told me to do this a month ago, then I would have gladly done that, but not now, especially when I fell in love with Zuriel. "I sighed glaring at those papers.
"That's like my sister," Ivaan said, approaching me and standing beside me, staring at uncle.
My Uncle said this while shaking his head and looking at us.
"Why, uncle, do you want me to betray Zuriel? What has he done to you?" I cried.
"You don't know anything, Bri. My company, even your company, was still on the verge of bankruptcy. We don't have any other way either, and why can't you do this?" he asked me.
"Because I will never, ever betray him," I explained.
Uncle gave me a sly grin.
"So, you fell in love with him, but sadly, he's soon going to divorce you," he said, and I snapped my head towards him.
"Enough!" I screamed at him.
"Nothing will happen by shouting me up. You don't know, I saw today, Carly, going towards Zuriel's company. I saw both of them entering into a restaurant after that," he said with a smirk while talking out his phone and showing me a picture.
When I saw Zuriel and a very beautiful girl with long blonde hair and a slender body like a supermodel sitting in a restaurant while her hand rested over Zuriel, my feet bounced backward and I gripped the handle of the chair so tightly that anyone could tell how much he's on her.
Then uncle slides the screen and another picture of them hugging each other
They both look so perfect and very very beautiful with each other, as they say, a match made in heaven.
I clamped my hand over my chest. That familiar thing came to me again. That pain. That pain was like fire burning my legs. I winced. It blew up in my head with a terrifying blankness. It was nauseating. My skin started to quiver. The pain felt like a hot, sharp knife, covered in salt, slicing through my skin and into my muscles and bones, as though my leg had been frozen and a bolt of lightning had struck my body from head to toe.
My lips trembled but I said nothing. I shakily glanced at Ivaan.
His jaw was clenched as he stared at the photo of Carly and Zuriel.
He shook his head, and his jaw and muscles of his skin hardened as he took the statue placed near the door and slammed it right on the floor.
He dashed out of the office.
I shook my head to try to remain calm and not show how much pain I was in.
"Whatever it is, I am still not going to let Zuriel sign those papers, never ever." I snapped and was about to exit, but the next words came out of my uncle's mouth and froze my legs.
