A night with her
RYAN
I cussed under my breath as I carried Violet to her room. For the second time now, I found myself holding her, kicking open her door with my foot, and gently setting her down on the bed. She didn’t stir, and I took a moment longer than necessary, just staring at her.
Her long brown hair cascaded over the pillow, soft and messy. Her skin was incredibly smooth and flawless. Normally, I wouldn’t even notice details like this about anyone. But with Violet, it was different.
A smirk tugged at the corner of my lips as I remembered earlier, the way she flushed when I made that comment about her dripping. Her cheeks had turned so red and I wanted to push her boundaries further—hike up her skirt and see if it was actually what I thought it was.
I tore my gaze away from her, shaking off the thoughts before they dug in deeper. This is wrong...She’s my stepsister, and I shouldn’t be thinking about her like that. But something had shifted between us. I don’t know when or how, but I started seeing her less like family and more like an innocent, nerdy girl who seemed to crave corruption—whether she realized it or not.
I never should have suggested we watch a movie together. The whole thing was a mistake. I had plans with Evelyn, and I should have just stuck to them but after the incident at school,I had been determined to make Evelyn know her place. Our relationship was purely physical. I didn't care,we both used each other,we both got orgasm from it. She had no claim over me,no amount of possessiveness or desperation on her part would change that.
I tucked her under the covers and noticed her brows furrowed slightly, her breathing grew shallow. I almost tuck away the hair flopping to her face but withheld myself
Instead,I took a seat beside her bed wanting to stay for some minutes before I let myself into my room.
Dad had texted me earlier today that they'd be staying for two weeks, two more weeks alone with Violet. I laced my hands behind my neck, trying to ignore the soft snore coming from the lady beside me,then allowed my mind to wander as it pleases.
19th April,2007
The ball bounced in my hand as I tossed the ball to my dad. He grinned as he easily caught it with his hands. I had just come back from school and hurriedly came to the backyard, eager to blow off steam.
“Try harder”
He teased,a playful smirk playing on his face as he threw the ball back.
"I'm going easy on you,old man" I shot back as I caught it.
"Old?" He chuckled, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "I could take you down any time of the week, kid"
"Yeah, let's see about that" I replied, raking my hands up for a harder throw. The ball sailed through the air harder this time but he still caught it. I groaned in frustration
We kept tossing and throwing till the back door clicked open. I looked over my shoulder and saw mom stepping out,her figure attractive as usual. She was wearing one of the dresses that accentuated her curves. Her blonde hair was styled perfectly and she wore her signature smile
"Ryan, sweetie," She called out. "It's time"
I knew exactly what she meant and I mentally groaned. They had this tradition of going out everyThursday evening,no matter what. It's their way of keeping their romance alive.
Dad caught the ball one last time and tossed it to the side, wiping his hands on his jeans as he walked over to mom
“The boss is calling our moment off” he said as he gave me a wink. I huffed, catching the ball and tucked it under my arm. “One more throw please?”
Mom laughed softly. “It's the weekend tomorrow. You'll have enough time to play sweetheart. But tonight? I need to steal your dad”
I let out a pretense eye roll “You both and your dates. You're married already, can't you just like stay up and watch TV or something?*
Dad laughed, reaching over to ruffle my hair. “Trust me sport, you'll understand when you're older. Gotta keep the romance alive”
“Yeah yeah whatever. I'm gonna get cleaned up”
I grinned and headed to my room .
I powered my video game on,its familiar hum greeting me. I grabbed the controller and flopped down on the floor, settling in for a few hours of gaming before bed.
I sank deep into the game, zoning out completely not until a soft knock sounded at my door.
I paused the game, looking over at the wall clock
It's just 7:35,they can't be back yet.
"Come in" I called
Our housemaid, Margaret slipped into the room, closing the door behind her without a word. It's odd- she doesn't come to my room like this, especially not at night. She approached slowly, her eyes fixed on me in a way that made my skin crawl. She smiled, but it wasn't the friendly smile she usually gave me,this one felt different.
"Your parents are out for the evening" She said, standing near the foot of my bed. "You must be lonely"
I didn't know what to respond with,so I shrugged and turned to the game hoping she'd leave soon. "I'm fine, just playing"
She stepped closer, her hand brushing my bedpost. "Playing by yourself?" Her voice took a different tone, almost teasing. "That's no fun,Is it?"
I tightened my grip on the controller, something about her voice, the way she spoke- it was all wrong. I shifted uncomfortably,my eyes glued on the screen trying to pretend like I didn't notice. Her hand moved, her fingers brushing lightly against my shoulder.
“You shouldn't be all alone” she murmured, her fingers tracing slowly down my arm.
A scream yanked me out of my reverie to real life again where the figure next to me writhed with distress.
“Stop!” Violet's voice yelled, horror drenching her voice
I glanced around but couldn't see anyone else in the room except us
“Leave me please!” she twisted on the bed,her face pale, sweat drenching her.
Nightmares
My shoulders tensed. I could see the panic written across her features, her chest rose and fell in frantic breaths. She screamed as she choked like she couldn't get enough oxygen in her lungs
There was nothing I could do but wait. I didn't wake her up- that was the worst thing you could do during a night terror.
All I could do was sit there, watching, waiting. A few minutes later, her screams quieted, her breathing slowed, and she finally drifted back into a peaceful sleep.
I wanted to leave but knowing she might have another nightmare, I turned off the light and climbed into the other side of the bed.
A normal man would sleep on the couch or the floor but out of all the nicknames I could get, normal isn't part of them.
I glanced at her side where she slept, her face half hidden by a pillow. It was just to pass a night…nothing more.
Besides, sharing a bed with my step sister wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever done… or would ever do.
