In The Presence of Him & Her

It's been three days since the mess I and Lora created. I have totally blocked out the encounter with someone I don't want to think about. Everything is normal and peaceful so far. I have been looking after the garden, plucking off the weed and other grass, cutting off the excess branches, and watering them.

Being with trees and plants is helping me and I have been meditating too to get my head under control.

" Aiza! I forgot to tell you one more thing about your job." Emily started walking with me to the gardens. I have been helping her to prepare a Coronation dress to be queen. It almost came to an end as tomorrow is the day of the official announcement.

Thinking about it makes me my heartache and I don't know why. Maybe because she is going to be with a heartless jerk who doesn't know how to respect a woman! Whatever the reason may be, I am being affected by it. I need to stop thinking and just concentrate on my work.

" What is it?" I asked, opening the doors to the garden. The smell of nature and soil met my nose automatically calming me. The garden has changed so much from the day I had been grooming it.

" You need to make face packs and other beauty products from the plants and other resources you can use to make them." She took her place on one of the benches. I turned toward her to answer.

" I can't get everything from here, Emily! I need other ingredients too to prepare them and Did you put that role too in the paper you submitted to the king's court?." I rolled my eyes at her playfully before going toward the rose plants.

" I know that and we can talk to Damien about it and he will order the things you want as he is the one who looks after the things in the palace and yes." She informed me getting up from the bench and walking toward me.

" Let me help you and let's go back to finish the dress. I need an extra hand today too." She has a guilty look on her face. She has nothing to be guilty about.

" You don't have to feel guilty about it, Emily! I can help you without you asking me." I chuckled at her pout.

" Miss Emily!" We heard a voice behind us and turned towards the source of the voice.

" Yes?" Emily and I waited for the maid to walk toward us and tell us what she want.

" Her Majesty asked you to come to her chambers this instant." She informed us, and we both looked at each other as to why she is calling Emily.

" Okay, let's go!" Emily moved toward her to go to the chambers.

" Her Majesty asked your friend to be present with you in front of her." The maid informed making me confused. What does she want with me? I can't even stand her presence.

" Why….." I started but was cut off in the middle by Emily placing her hand on my shoulder stopping me from asking her.

" You can't question when a king or queen asked for you. There will be a punishment for that too." Emily whispered in my ear making my eyes wide with shock and fear. What is this place? Is it a jail? The rules are so ridiculous here, maybe they even punish you if you breathe loud.

" Lead the way please!' Emily asked the maid and we started following her to the chambers of the queen-to-be. Lora is being restless in my head and my stomach is in knots.

" Lora! What happened? Are you alright!" I asked her worried that something is wrong with her.

" I am alright Aiza but be careful when you are with her." She answered and I can clearly hear her worry in her words.

" Who is her?" I asked somewhat confused but I know about whom she is talking to.

" I am talking about the queen. I don't feel good vibes from her, so be careful and always be on guard." I hummed at her words and I feel the silence in my head.

" Don't talk first and just answer politely, Okay?" Emily reminded me of some rules on how to behave in front of the queen. I nodded at her and followed the maid.

We have been walking for the past five minutes and we are still not near the chambers as I can feel from the speed the maid is using. My legs are already paining from all the walking and I am thirsty too.

" How much more do we have to walk to reach the chambers?" I whispered so Emily will be the only one who can hear. I don't want to get in trouble just because I talked unnecessarily.

" We just have to turn that left and we will be in front of it," Emily whispered back and I laughed at her serious face.


We took hurried steps towards the doors and stood in front of it. I raised my head to look at the enormous doors which have dragons carved on them. The dragons on the doors feel different from all the other doors and the doors felt familiar to me.

I closed my eyes to remember why they look like I have seen them before. I heard the doors opening and my eyes opened. I bowed my head instantly not to offend anyone who will be inside. I literally feel like a slave growling in front of my master.

" You can go inside." The maid told us pulling me from my thoughts. Emily held my hand and we both entered the chambers still bowing our heads.

Once we stopped at a spot I slowly raised my head to look around. The first thing I was hit by was the window and the mirror beside and the place to looks similar. My eyes roamed around the room frantically trying to remember where have I seen the place and why it is looking familiar.

" tsk, tsk, You still didn't learn the rules of the palace!" A sultry voice called out and I know she is talking about me. Instantly I bowed my head in shame for getting caught.

" Some people don't learn things that easily." A familiar deep voice scoffed making my body shudder in delight. Lora started swirling in my head excitedly making me close my eyes to stop her.

What is he doing here! Why do I have to be in his presence when I was being successful for the last three days? I didn't make any noise other than just bowing deeply in an apology as I don't want any trouble just because they love the thrill from our punishments.

I know I am going to mess up as long as I stand in his presence as I am already so nervous that I can collapse onto the ground or else if he tries to insult me or our kind then I am going to give him my piece of mind about what I think about him.
