CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN
MARCUS'S POV
Tara had gotten on my nerves by insulting Chelsea. I was very furious.
I took a deep breath and relaxed.
I still couldn't believe that I had lost my friendship with Max all because I couldn't let Chelsea go.
I was totally screwed.
After a hectic day at work I immediately went home and took a cold shower.
The event would be in a few hours so I had to arrive on time.
I wrapped a towel around my waist staring at my reflection in the mirror.
I looked different.
My black hair was wet and messy and I desperately needed to shave my face.
I wouldn't want to go to the event looking like a lumberjack.
Once I was done preparing I wore my black suit and straightened my red tie.
Perfect.
Once I was satisfied with my look I notified my driver Eric to bring the car up front.
I left my room and went downstairs.
I had a quick drink to calm my nerves. I needed to loosen up and still act professional despite the unsettling nerves I was having.
Something about tonight just didn't seem right, something was going to happen. I had a deep feeling in my gut.
I sighed deeply as I made my way towards the car once I was inside Eric greeted me with a stern nod.
"Good evening sir" he said quietly.
I smiled at him.
" Good evening Eric and I've been telling you multiple times to just call me Marcus."
He nodded.
" Okay sir-sorry I mean Marcus" he corrected quickly and I chuckled and patted him on the back.
" Come on we'll be late."
He nodded quietly but I could see in the dim light that he was trying to suppress his laughter.
I spent the next thirty minutes going through my emails and responding to a few clients.
It was my day off but I liked to keep myself busy with work from time to time.
UNKNOWN POV
I brushed my hair while staring at my reflection in a full length mirror.
I didn't bother to style my blonde hair. I just left it in natural waves.
I applied some red lipstick and did some smokey black makeup for my eyes.
I wanted to keep everything as simple and natural as possible. It's not like I was going to compete with the other women.
I decided to wear a black sparkling dress that hugged my curves and showed off a little cleavage left for the guys to imagine what was beyond the material.
The long slit reached my thigh and I decided to wear black strap heels to match the look.
I smirked and wore my mask.
The event was particularly an event where business men and women would be given awards according to their status, social standards, power, political influence and money.
That was pretty everything I knew about it.
I didn't feel like going but my boss was invited to have to tag along since I was his assistant and he kinda had that thing for me but I never felt the same way.
I liked to keep things strictly professional.
Once I was done I went downstairs.
Ten minutes later a cab came to pick me up. I didn't want to make things awkward with my boss so I decided to text him and told him that I would meet him at the event.
Luckily he didn't ask any questions so I was safe.
An hour later the car came to a stop and the driver smiled.
"Ms. We've arrived."
I nooded and paid him.
Once the cab drove away I took to a deep breath I suddenly felt nervous something was definitely going to happen.
I felt it deep inside my gut.
I gave my best smile for the paparazzi as my boss wrapped his arm around my waist holding my close against my will.
He's such a bastard.
MARCUS'S POV
When I arrived at the even a couple was walking towards the entrance.
The woman kept struggling to get free but the man wouldn't bulge.
So far I was already seeing drama unfolding so much for doing thing on a low key.
Once the paparazzi saw the crowd went wild and I wore my mask.
The event was like a ball where all the guests were supposed to wear masks.
It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard but I just had to go with the flow.
Once I was inside light calming music was playing. People were lost in their conversations chatting, laughing and sipping there expensive wine.
It's where I saw her.
A woman with blonde hair was talking to a man who seemed to be in his early forties she looked uninterested what he was saying but she kept nodding and rolling her eyes while he wasn't looking.
She had green piercing eyes that held a sparkle she looked farmiliar but I couldn't match her with anybody I knew.
I took in her appearance.
She was wearing a black sparkling dress that exposed her cleavage and creamy thighs thanks to the long slit she was very sexy and gorgeous.
My cock twitched in excitement at the sight of her and how the dress hugged her curved perfectly.
I was dying to touch every inch of her lucious tempting.
I wanted to her to warm my bed just for one fucking night. That so that I would get her out of my system.
She was going to be mine.
Images of her moaning beneath me sawm through my mind. Her nails digging painfully into my flesh.
Fuck I was hooked.
When our eyes met my eyes darkened with lust and desire. I could practically peel off her clothes with my gaze. She didnt loom away either when I smirked her cheek turned a rosy shade.
She wasn't resisting my charms and that was good.
Taming her would be easy she was too innocent and naive I could tell from her nervous posture.
She was trying to avoid me but she couldn't she wanted me just as much I had wanted her.
A song began playing in the background and I took it as my cue to make my first move towards her.
Tempt her.
Tease her.
Tame her.
And taste her.
Those were my golden rules.
I caught her by surprise when I asked her to dance. She hesitated but still grasped my hand and I entwined our hands leading her to the dance floor.
Our eyes locked as I trailed my hand upwards her body sensually. She let out a small gasp and our eyes met intensely.
Dancing with a stranger by Sam Smith was playing in the background as I explored her body dangerously.
Her scent was intoxicating and I couldn't get enough of this woman.
Hmm, mhm
[Verse 1: Sam Smith]
I don't wanna be alone tonight ('Lone tonight)
It's pretty clear that I'm not over you (Over you, over you)
I'm still thinking 'bout the things you do (Things you do)
So I don't want to be alone tonight, alone tonight, alone tonight
Can you light the fire? (Light the fire, light the fire)
I need somebody who can take control (Take control)
I know exactly what I need to do
'Cause I don't wanna be alone tonight, alone tonight, alone tonight
[Chorus: Sam Smith]
Look what you made me do, I'm with somebody new
Ooh, baby, baby, I'm dancing with a stranger
Look what you made me do, I'm with somebody new
Ooh, baby, baby, I'm dancing with a stranger
Dancing with a stranger
[Verse 2: Normani]
I wasn't even going out tonight (Out tonight)
But, boy, I need to get you off of my mind (Off of my mind)
I know exactly what I have to do
I don't wanna be alone tonight, alone tonight, alone tonight
[Chorus: Normani, Sam Smith & Both]
Look what you made me do, I'm with somebody new
Ooh, baby, baby, I'm dancing with a stranger
Look what you made me do, I'm with somebody new
Ooh, baby, baby, I'm dancing with a stranger
Dancing with a stranger
Dancing with a stranger
Dancing, yeah, ooh
[Outro: Sam Smith, Normani & Both]
Look what you made me do, I'm with somebody new (Ooh)
Ooh, baby, baby, I'm dancing with a stranger
Look what you made me do, I'm with somebody new
Ooh, baby, baby, I'm dancing with a stranger
I'm dancing, I'm dancing (Ooh)
I'm dancing, I'm dancing (Dancing with a stranger)
I'm dancing, I'm dancing (Dancing with a stranger)
I'm dancing, I'm dancing (Dancing with a stranger)
