Chapter forty eight
TARA POV
I loved my father very much because he always made sure that I have the best in life. He buys me anything I want and whenever I want his certainly the best father a girl could ever ask for. My mom doesn't like it when dad spoils me with goodies and luxurious things.
I glanced at my diamond wrist watch impatiently mom was supposed to be here hours ago. I hate it when people are late especially on my big day.
"Miss Tara don't be upset I'm sure your mother will be here soon" my makeup artist Julie muttered coolly.
I rolled my eyes at her while she applied pink blush on both of my cheeks.
I looked very pretty.
"Julie you don't even know how my mom acts with me gosh she treats me like I'm not her daughter or something."
I scoffed in annoyance.
" You know Julie we never get along with each other and honestly I don't like her."
" So when I was still a little girl I always liked to spend time with my father instead but I liked dad's girlfriend. She was really nice even though she wasn't rich like us."
Julie gave me a puzzled look.
" Come on don't look at me like that."
"So you're saying you personally witnessed your father's secret affairs?" Julie asked curiously.
I snorted.
"Your job is to do my makeup here so don't be a gossip Julie or I might just fire you."
She gave me an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry miss. Tara it won't happen again" she quickly apologies.
And I nod quitely.
" Good."
A few minutes later I heard a knock on the door and a smile curved my lips. It must be the champagne I ordered.
I excused myself and went to answer the door once I opened it I was stunned.
"Mother you're here."
She gave me a small smile and quickly pecked me on the cheeks."
" Of course I can't miss my baby's wedding. What kind of mother would I be?
I gave her a fake smile and hugged her.
"I thought you had an important meeting so you couldn't make it."
She frowned at me and walked in looking at the surroundings.
I closed the door behind me and rolled my eyes.
"This room lacks colour and tells the workers to immediately change it to my liking" mother said softly.
I sighed deeply.
"Mom this is a freaking hotel it's not your house to make renovations and that too whenever you feel like it" I said angrily.
She frowned at me.
" Don't use that tone with me young lady" she scolded angrily.
I scoffed furiously.
"I blame your father for spoiling you rotten if he had listened to me years ago you would have turned out just fine."
I slumped in my seat.
" You came here precisely for my wedding so act like the loving mother you are. We don't want your guests to think otherwise."
Mother gasped in shock and I went to my dressing room to get ready.
I slammed the door hard.
I sighed deeply and surprisingly a tear rolled down my cheek.
I just wish I had a mother's love. I just wish that she would support me and my dreams and choices and not the other way around.
I opened my closet and took out my wedding dress. It was sparkling and very expensive. I took off my robe and only remained in my back lingerie. I wanted to surprise Marcus later tonight.
My wedding dress fitted me perfectly plus it was also a designer dress.
My back was bare. It was a long white gown that had a few pearls. It also came with a long lace veil that complimented my wedding dress.
I looked in the mirror pleased with myself this was the big day and I can't believe that Marcus was going to be officially mine in a few minutes.
I can't wait to be called Mrs. Devon.
When I was done getting ready I black limo came to pick me up. The street was full of the paparazzi taking multiple pictures of me and asking questions.
I got into the limo and closed the door. I don't know why but my heart was thumping wildly in my chest.
Maybe it was just the pre wedding jitters I thought to myself.
I can't wait to finally see Marcus all dressed for me.
KELSEY POV
Once I finally managed to compose myself I washed my face and applied some makeup. It hid the dark circles under my eyes. I had a very horrible night and it wasn't getting any better.
I decided to wear a white dress which had silver and grey sequins and glitter.
The dress showed off my cleavage since it was the only good thing in my closet. I decided to go for it. The dress showed off my baby bump I was in my fourth month now my little bundle of joy was growing each passing day.
I let down my hair and let it flow freely over my shoulders. It was very wavey. For the finishing touch I applied some red lipstick. Once I checked myself in the mirror I looked much better. At least I didn't look like a zombie anymore.
Jane and Sasha were coming with me for moral support. I was really grateful to have such great friends like them.
"Are you sure you want to do this? Sasha asked curiously.
" Mr. Eden could always understand because you have your reasons" Jane said softly.
I signed deeply.
"I'm going to do this. I can't back out now and this is Marcus's wedding. The least I can do is be there for him and support him."
They nodded quietly.
Twenty minutes later Max came to pick us all up. He looked really handsome in his blue suit and it complimented his eyes.
MARCUS POV
I was the first one to arrive at the wedding venue the church was almost full. A few minutes later Kelsey,Jane and Sasha walked in like a fierce flood.
I couldn't take my eyes off Kelsey. She looked very beautiful for a moment there. I thought she was going to be my bride.
When our eyes met she looked away and took her seat.
This was really a good way to kill someone. It was also messed up.
Mr. Eden stared at Kelsey and looked at me like he was trying to connect the dots or something.
He also knew that I was in love with Kelsey and not Tara.
When the wedding song began I kept looking at the entrance. Tara walked in wearing a beautiful wedding gown that clung to her body. But my Kelsey looked more beautiful than her.
Mr. Eden made his way towards his daughter and hooked his arm in hers.
They shared a small smile and he whispered something in her ear she nodded quietly as they walked towards the altar.
This was really happening.
