Chapter 16 Troublesome is a name
Chapter sixteen
What! Dave! Why would Dave do that? I mean he doesn't look like this type of gentle and cool guy. And for the little time I've known him, he hasn't acted like it either.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you to follow me earlier and it wouldn't happen again," he paused slightly to look me deep in the eyes," And please, stay away from Dave, ok?"
Still dumbstruck, I only nod. I mean it's nothing to be so surprised about. We all know who Dave is which is why it's more confusing when Michael said he saved my face in front of his Dad. I decided to ask him anyway, "Why will Dave save me in front of his dad?"
Michael went still, thinking obviously. But before he could say a word, something screeched in front of the house sounding exactly like the horn of the car. I and Michael look at ourselves, wondering who could have done something so childish.
Mom and Nancy rushed out too and we all made it downstairs, outside the house. I look beside me quickly and discover Michael is nowhere to be found.
Just then, the door of the familiar Lamborghini opens, and Dave walks out.
What the fuck is he doing here! My face blush at the memory of the kiss and I suddenly feel like punching him again. Perhaps I should.
I look back briefly at my loved ones. Mom is standing still, scared at the soul that had just emerged from the car, Sam doesn't know who he is but with the expression on his mother's face, quickly takes cover behind mom. Nancy nevertheless stands like a warrior expecting a fight. I laugh slightly, forgetting the fact that Dave is here. I mean what is he seriously doing here? But then, where the heck is Michael? And how on earth did I miss him earlier.
Michael smiles briefly before moving near to me, "Hey, you are supposed to hug me"
I raise a brow, suppressing the urge to shut his mouth, "If you are here for this nonsense, just shut up before I smack you", I warn bossly.
He gathered some wrinkles on his forehead, confused, "Didn't you see my text messages?"
Is this guy running mentally? Why will he text me? How did he even get my number? And I didn't see any messages. Wait a moment, I left my phone in the room when I came out to meet Michael. If he truly sent a message, it must have been at that time. I just seriously don't know why I'm working this thing out in my head. Maybe because he saved me in front of his dad. I mean he just proved he's not so bad.
No oh, Jones! What the hell are you thinking of? Have you forgotten what he did to you? The embarrassment? My mom? My brother? It's a week now and my brother hasn't gone back to school. It's all Dave's fault!
I clench my hands beside me as I watch him. Seems he notices the sudden change cos he takes a step back, with his hands up in a retreating manner, "Actually, I'm here to save you again. Look to your left side at a black jeep there," he says and I follow the path of his word. Truly, a jeep is there and someone is beside the car in black attire. I looked back at Dave again but didn't say anything, "That's my dad. I guessed he told one of his men to spy on me because of the lies I told him. You know, my dad can easily see through a lie".
God, this is so frustrating.
I look up at him, really angry," And why does that concern me!"
"You will get yourself in trouble if you don't cooperate," he threatens slowly.
I feel a sudden wave of fresh anger. How can someone be so annoying? I feel like killing him right now! Before I could say anything, his hand is behind me, pulling me so close to him. My heart jot in my chest. He smiles, "Can we leave now?" I didn't say a word, couldn't say a word as we walk toward the car.
He entered the car but I couldn't. One of his guards came down and opened the door. I looked up at Dave in the car. He smiles at me and eggs me on. I take a deep breath before entering the car. I can't afford to cause any more trouble especially for my loved ones.
I look over at mom, Sam, and Nancy. Then I remember I'm not even with my phone.
I look over at Dave, "I need to borrow your phone, "I tell him and expect him to refuse. But surprisingly, he hands it out, "Just be careful with it. It's worth a hundred times your current property."
I glare at him. Dave and his bad words. He can never change seriously. It's just that I don't have his time right now.
I type in mom's number and dial it. After the second ring, mom picks up, "Hi mom, it's Jones".
"Jones, what's happening? Why did Dave come to pick you? Is something going to happen?" Mom bombards fearfully.
"No mom,I'm alright and I will be home soon. I just need to clear something and I will gist you all about it when I get back. Just know I'm safe and I know well what I'm doing"
Mom signs, "Alright dear, take care of yourself"
I remember Michael, "What about Michael?"
"He left some minutes ago"
Gosh, and I need to speak with him. He did warn me to stay away from Dave, "Alright mom, bye," I say and hang up.
I stretched the phone back to him and he collects it. Just immediately, we enter the compound of an unfamiliar building. The house looks so big from the outside. There are a lot of flowers out there. And what the fuck! There are a lot of cars too. Where has Dave brought me to?
"My second house," Dave says beside me, forcing me to look at him. What the fuck! This is his second house! This guy is strikingly rich!.
Wait! Why did he bring me here?
"Why are we here exactly?"
Dave signs, frustrated. Is he for real! I am more frustrated than he is, "We need to make it look real"
Wait, something is not right somewhere? Why do we need to make it look real? Why must he bring me to his house to make it look real? What exactly did he tell his father?
"What were the lies you told your father?"
He shrugs slightly, "That we are having sex"
What! My mouth flies open! What! Sex! How can he even say it that way like it's no big deal? Wait, Michael was there when he said it right? That was why he warned me to stay away from him. What if he is trying to show his father evidence that I had slept with him. Like I'm one of his slay queens.
OMG! I don't believe I am hearing this. I shouldn't have followed him. I should have slapped him earlier and eliminated the whole plan.
I open the door to get down but it's suddenly locked. I look at Dave's driver. Seems like he trusts him, saying everything before him, "Unlock this door now!" I scream at him but he ignores me. I look at Dave again, very much angry, "Open this damn door before I lose the little tolerance remaining in me!" I warn, sternly this time.
Dave signs, "That was the only way to stop dad from pursuing you"
"And why will your father pursue me!" I scream
"Because no woman must control Margray," he screams back. What! "He wouldn't let it pass if he knew everything. It's the lies I've told him, and I'm not planning to give him evidence or whatever," he hisses, "You are not even my type. I love tall and skinny girls but damn! You are short!"
This guy doesn't know how to talk at all, "Will you shut up!" I scream at him again.
He pauses, shocked for a while, "And you are too noisy. I don't like girls that shout like they have some kind of microphone in their mouth"
Fine!"Open this door and let us go in. If I don't beat you to a pulp, call me a huge bastard!" I swore and pulled at the driver's neck to force him to unlock the car. Peter screams at the effect while Dave struggles to free him. I look at Dave suddenly and raise my fist to punch his stupid face
Dave
When I try to free Jones from Peter, I noticed with the way she looked back at me that she was going to punch me. Jeez, Her punch is something out of this world. So, I signaled Peter to open the door and lock it back when I'm out. I did everything so quickly before Jones could make a move.
I look at Jones through the glass mirror at the glare she's giving me. Suddenly, she starts to hit the window vigorously. Is this girl a nut? Does she even know how much that cost? I'm trying to help her but instead of being grateful, she's acting like some sort of nuisance. What should I do?
I smile as an idea suddenly brainwave me. I take my phone and dial Steven's number. Steven is one of my guards and technically the third in commandant. He like Peter knows everything there is about me. And they have never betray me since they've been working for me for five years now.
"Hey Steven, bring me the overdose of DC," I call it Dc because it's a banned drug. Anyways, it calms my nerves anytime I feel so high and down. I would inject little of it through my bloodstream. Overdose of it would make the victim sleep immediately and would only make the person active again after some hours, "I need you to inject it into Jones the moment I let her out of the door. And you must be fast about it, "I command before hanging up.
I look over at Jones now. She's no more using her hands but has resulted in using her legs to break the window. Is this girl kidding me?
I move to the driver's seat and mouth the word, "Open the door," to Peter because normally, he wouldn't hear me because of the ruckus Jones is causing. How can a lady of twenty-seven be like this? She acts like some sort of rogues.
Peter nod slightly, affirming that he understood me. Then the door opens and Jones comes flying out. Wait! Did she fly? Is she an eagle or something?
She nevertheless punches me and pushed me down. The effect of the blow feels like I've just had my first hanging experience. How can a lady punch hurt so much? She gets on top of me and locks my shirt.
"You fool! I am going to teach you a lesson you will never forget in your entire life," she says angrily, breathing on me like a real angry lion. I shiver at her words and the pains I'm having as a result of her blow. She raises her hand, probably to hit me but she closes her eyes and slump, falling on me.
For the first time, I could smell her. She smells like butter and pineapple and sweet potatoes. Funnily enough, I love the smell of these. It kind of always reminds me of mom.
Steven carries her up from me and I have a deep sigh of relief. I stand and cuss mentally. How can her punch hurt so much? Fuck! I'm so grateful Steven injected her earlier or maybe I might have been dead now.
Peter is still massaging his neck that is as red as blood. Gosh, this girl is a killer.
"What should I do with her boss," Steven asks, bringing me back to the present with a thud
