Chapter 36 Troubles with the Margrays

Chapter thirty-six
I shake my head in disagreement," I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying here"
" Jones, you have to stay patience. I know how you are feeling but you have to endure," Michael explains but I'm not seeing sense in it at all.
" I'm not going anywhere, "I say defiantly. I don't even believe Michael would do something like that to me. I'm highly disappointed. But why exactly is Dave doing this for God's sake?
Michael moves closer and places his hands on my shoulders, "Listen to me Jones," he says and I look up at him, "Mr. Richard Margray is involved in this," my heart skips a beat at the mention of the name, "If I don't sign the papers, I won't be able to stop what would happen. Mr. Richard is very influential. He knows every damn place and he gets away with anything he does, most of them. And he's much more dangerous than Dave," Michael explains slowly and the realization hits me hard. I can still remember what Dave did to me, what he did to mom and my brother. If Richard is more dangerous, then I wonder what he would do to me, "Jones, it's just for two months. Can't you be patience for two months?"
And die? I ask myself mentally. This is seeing I should go and stay dead for two months while waiting for the mordsith's breathe of life.
No, I don't care! I'm not going to Tianshi. Never!
"I'm not going anywhere, Michael. I'm staying right here!"
Michael signs, "It's either you go or you lose your job. That's the options you have".
My heart did a bam and sweats broke out of my forehead. I can't believe this is happening to me.
The walk home was the most boring and the long one ever. I didn't bother taking a cab because I thought I needed some time to myself, to think. Why will Richard wants me to work at his company? Why are they doing this by force? Why?
God! I thought all this have come to an end.
I open the door and see Nancy cutting the cake.
What's happening?
Then I remember it's Nancy's birthday. God! I had planned to branch at a shopping mall and get her a gift. How could I have forgotten that?
"Jones!" Nancy says happily, rushing towards me, "I have a lot of things to tell you, bae. Can you guess what Max got me for my birthday?" She stops suddenly and watches me for a while," Did something happen?"
I sigh and feign a smile, "I will tell you that later. Let's talk about you. So, what did your boyfriend get you? You know I'm so bad at guessing".
She smiles so widely now. She looks so happy, very happy," He got me a car!" She whoops in delight and I join her.
"I'm so happy for you girl," I say to her happily.
" That's not all," she says and she leads me to the chair. I sit and she does the same," I didn't want to bother you last week but well, my boyfriend told me to resign. You know how strict my boss is. He wouldn't let me stay a day off but do you remember I took a week off?"
I nod slowly. She's right. I thought about it when she told me she would be getting a week off. There was a lot on my mind at that time or I would have asked her.
"Well, I did resign before Max's birthday. And do you know what happened this morning?"I nod anxiously, egging her on," I saw a credit alert of fifty thousand dollars"

" He said I should use it to start the cooking business I told him about."
" OMG! I'm so happy for you!"I say and pull her into a bear hug. Can I ever get so lucky with guys?
"Let's celebrate this! This cause for celebration," I say, standing up to go get wine.
Nancy holds my hand suddenly," What about what you wanted to tell me?"
I smile," it can wait. Today is all about you darling," I say before walking in.
Today is Nancy's birthday and I can't ruin it with my bad news.
Maybe I will tell her tomorrow because I'm sure not going to work tomorrow.
God, help me, please.
Rihanna's song titled diamond rings out from somewhere near me. I groan and turn to the other side of the bed. Have mercy by Chloe came from the other side, almost making me go deaf.
What the heck is happening? Why are they so loud?
I open my eyes and stare up at naughty Nancy. OMG!
"What the fuck are you doing Nancy!" I scream on top of my voice, obviously angry.
She rolls her eyes and increases the volume of the song.
I pick my pillow and throw it at her. She laughs and turns down the volume of the songs to the minimum.
I groan out loud, "What is it Nancy? I was having a nice sleep here".
Nancy raises a brow," Are you kidding me?"
" No, I'm not," I say and lay back on the bed. The next thing I notice is the music increasing in volume. What the heck!
I get up again and Nancy put a stop to her silly act, "It's almost eight and all you are worried about is your sleep? Don't you guys have laid down rules or your boss is already treating you like a wife".
I groan with frustration," I stopped working yesterday".
" What! Why? You haven't even received a month's salary. Have you forgotten the month ends tomorrow?"
Like as if I care. I lay back on the bed dreamily, "My life is so fucking messed up right now".
" What happened?"Nancy sit beside me on the bed and stare down at me, "Oh, that was what you wanted to tell me last night right?"
I look at her and nod briefly," Would you believe Michael signed a contract for me to work with Dave for a whole two months?" I sit up," And Dave's father is involved in this".
" Are you kidding me?"Nancy asks surprised.
" Why won't they leave me alone? Why does he want me to work with him?"
" And why would Michael sign that type of Contract?" Nancy blurt in.
I look at her," Because Mr. Richard Margray is the most dangerous man ever. He gets whatever he wants on the platter of gold no matter how difficult it is for the person involved. If Michael disagrees, it would bring him bad luck".
Nancy nods severally in a thoughtful manner," No wonder his son became a jackass".
I laugh, suddenly surprising me. I never imagined laughing in this type of situation.
"Anyways, I think you need to go to work".
I stare at Nancy amazingly, "Didn't you hear what you just said?"
She shrugs slightly," As a matter of fact, I did but you said it yourself who Mr. Richard is. What do you think would happen if you mess with that type of man? Have you forgotten what messing with Dave brought you? You are still dealing with the mess," Nancy stands," By the way, you could fall in love with Dave by working at his place"
" Are you out of your mind!"I scream at Nancy, much irritated at what she just said.
Nancy grins, "Come on babe, we can't handle two Margray."
She's right? We can't handle two Margray, not when one is the devil in disguise.
I have a bad feeling about all this. I'm not going. I would rather leave the country. I lay back on the bed.
Nancy smacks me, "You are leaving the country, with which money".
Gosh, did I say that aloud?
" Nancy, will you leave me the heck alone?"
" Fine, I will just leave your house then," she says, backing out. I get up quickly and see her walking out of the room.
I rush out of bed, after her, "Nancy, you know I didn't mean that", I meet up with her and hold her.
"Seriously? This was what you did when I was trying to make you see the truth about Dave. You ignored it and can you remember what it cost you? Your mom and brother are out of the country because of Dave. You told me they are managing over there. And you haven't even collected this month's salary. Jones, can't you think about this for once? No, but you are trying to mess with Richard Margray? The real devil?"
I let go of her slowly. She's right anyway, very right. What do I think would happen if I ignore Richard Margray? What would happen to my mom and brother and Nancy? Mom doesn't even have the money and she hasn't finished paying Sam's school tuition fee. And I haven't even collected this month's salary. Am I going to waste it like this? God, I'm so fed up.
