Chapter 39 He's unpredictable

Chapter thirty-nine
I couldn't stop the mad beating of my heart no matter how much I tried. What's happening to me.
He suddenly let go and smile, while walking towards his chair. I judder unconsciously, shaking my head the more to stop my wild thoughts.
What just happened?
"I'm hungry," he says, stopping me in my track as I was about to open the door. I slowly whirl around to face him again. Goosebumps arise as I stare at his handsome and cute face. I don't believe I just described him with those words.
Gosh, I'm so ashamed of myself.
"_understood?" he stops to give me that sly look.
I blink my eyes, then give him a skeptical look. I didn't even hear what he just said, "What did you say?"
His tongue seductively licks his lower lip. Gosh, what's he doing? His mere action makes my heart skip a beat. I look away immediately. The blush has started to appear on my face too.
"I said you should go home and bring my food here", his voice sounds so soft too that I'm nearly confused if he is flirting around with me. But that's not possible. Right? Or why will Dave flirt around with me?
Is this also part of my job? God, I'm so not getting this. I look at him again and the anger building up in me evaporated with no trace. Why is this guy making me switch between feeling angry and feeling so high?
I look at him much longer, "Ok," I say and stare the more at his handsomely carved brows. Do men have handsomely carved brows? I don't even know what I'm doing. I'm hungry, that's why. I'm really hungry.
"Can you drive?" He says and for the first time that day, I was able to trace where he's looking at. And it's my lips. Why will Dave be staring at my lips? Strange, isn't it?
"Yes, but why are you asking?" I do drive my father's car before he died. We had to sell the car due to our financial issues. I also took up many driver's works when I was still in school to cater to my needs. So, yes, I can drive very well.
"You don't expect me to let you take my food in some smelly cabs?" He drops a bundle of keys on the table, "Drive that and get me the food".
I take the keys but didn't move as realization suddenly dawn on me, "Are you saying I would go and cook for you?"
He made a straight face now, then suddenly burst out, laughing real hard. What's so funny? He sober after some seconds," How can I allow someone like you to make my food? What if it gets too salty? Or what if it gets too cooked?"
I hiss mentally. Who told him that I can't cook? Anyways, I don't want to cook in the first place. I'm not his girlfriend or his cook.
"So, drive the car to my place and get my food for me from Mercy. I'm seriously starving", he says, pouting in the process. He looks cute alright but am done praising him. I hiss mentally and whirl to leave.
I walk out to the parking lot and it's a Lamborghini I am going to drive. It's a red cute car. I can't believe I will enter this type of car.
I enter the car and put the car on ignition. It's so easy to move unlike my dad's own. Most of the time, I would end up taking pain relief because of driving his car. Dave's type of car makes me want to get rich at all costs. Perhaps I can drive this type of car too shortly.
I increase the volume of the song playing as I drive out of Tianshi's company.
I've gone far when I suddenly realize I didn't ask Dave where I would be collecting the food from. I know two of Dave's houses and I don't know where I'm supposed to go. I find a space to park my car. I take my phone and dial Dave's number. He didn't pick up and I redial. After like three rings, I conclude on going back to the office.
Taking a U-turn, I drive back to Tianshi but this time, I didn't drive into the compound. I walk out, lock the car doors and race upstairs.
I knock at Dave's door but he didn't respond. Then, I can hear some faint voices as if, wait a moment. It sounds as though there's someone else with Dave.
I open the door slightly to look at whosoever is in. I didn't see anything so I open it wider, only for me to miss my step and end up falling inside, with the door wide open.
I've never felt so embarrassed in my entire life.
I look up at Dave and Betty standing together. They are both looking at me with some sort of confused look. What the heck are they doing together.
Betty turns to look at Dave, "You didn't tell me she's working here"
Dave smiles and looks at her," I needed her skill. You said you are hungry right? Should we go to the restaurant?"
Betty nod slowly with a smile. My God, she looks so beautiful with that smile of hers, "Let go to the restaurant. I'm feeling sleepy too. We can get a private VIP section".
What!
Dave nod briefly and holds her while turning towards me. The fool of me, I'm still on the floor watching them both, "The car keys please?"
I fumble for it around me but later find out I'm holding it. I force myself up and stretch the key out.
Dave collects it. He pulls Betty closer to himself before walking out.
I suddenly feel so upset. What is Betty doing here? And why is she acting as if she didn't threaten me to stay away from Michael? And why did Dave pull her so close to him? Didn't he know she belongs to someone? And they both walkout, acting as if I wasn't in the room with them
And why the heck did he even send me to bring food for him when he knew he wouldn't eat it.
Gosh! Everything is so annoying!
