Chapter 69 He's alright now

Chapter sixty-nine
Jones
The doctor confirmed that Dave has regained consciousness. I was so worried. I thought I would lose him. God, I can't afford that. I don't ever want that.
Betty held my arm in hers, she has been so supportive. In fact, I've never seen someone as supportive as Michael and Betty. I got to know that these two have been in the hospital for almost three hours now. They were waiting for me and Dave. They are the best.
We await the doctor in the office. I wanted to know what happened to Dave and why he got admitted. Dave is always healthy. What then could have caused the cardiac arrest.
Dave has regained consciousness and he's currently sleeping because the nurse gave him a sleeping pill. Dave will be up and down soon.
The oxygen mask has been removed too.
I turn to Michael suddenly, "Michael, I know who kidnapped me. It was Cynthia. She blamed me for taking Dave away from her and she swore to make me suffer."
Michael nods once, then twice, he doesn't even look surprised. I feel he knows this already.
Betty pats my hand and look up at me, "Yes. Dave followed the location of his men to where you were."
I give them a skeptical look, " What men?"
Michael turns to me now, "Dave didn't tell you but he had some of his men to follow you around and protect you. He decided this the second day Cynthia came to Tianshi."
Wait, he saw Cynthia that day too? I never knew he did.
"So, he made sure the location of these men were known so that he would be able to get where you are anytime he wishes to," he sighs now and looks away, " He followed their location after you got kidnapped and when we couldn't get to you. They were eventually the ones that led us to the building, where we found you."
I'm still not getting his message. What does he mean by where they found me? Well, I can even remember anything. The only thing I remember is me waking up in the hospital. I don't even remember how I got there.
So, it was Dave that brought me here? Dave saved me? Here I was thinking it was Cynthia that let me go willingly. So, I was rescued?
"I left him while he decided to bring you to the hospital," Michael continued while I gave him my undivided attention, "Then he called me suddenly that you were having unsteady breathing. I think that was what caused him the shock," Michael's expression is so sad now. He looks away, " His mom had the same thing before she passed away. He could have been so scared he would lose you."
I don't believe Dave got hurt because of him. Gosh, I close my eyes a bit and try to stop the tears from coming out. I'm grateful for what he did and I will never forget him.
The doctor walks in and goes to sit.
"How is Dave?" Michael asks curiously. I sit up too. I hope Dave is alright.
"Thankfully, he's alright. He's a fighter and he has regained consciousness. I knew he was strong."
"What really happened to him?" I blurt in.
The doctor looks at me slightly, "He must have been shocked. Something must have shocked him so great that he went into a shocking state, then he got cardiac arrest before he entered comatose. Everything happened so quickly that we all thought we would lose him." The doctor expresses his gladness too.
Gosh, I almost lost him. I couldn't stop the tears from coming down my face. I'm just happy and grateful to God that he gave Dave back to me. That's all that matters.
"Is he safe now?" Betty asks.
The doctor smiles, "He's in safe hands, fortunately for us. He just needs to rest and take drugs. It all seems like a miracle to us."
I nod briefly and Betty pat me the more. I wipe off the tears from my eyes and smile.
Michael looks at me briefly, then turns to look back at the doctor, "How is she?"
"Well, it's against the law that she's moving up and down now," he says and gives me a dangerous stare. I roll my eyes and he looks back at Michael with a wide smile on his face, "She's all well now even though she's yet to take all her medication as well."
I wave it off, " I don't need them. I feel Hale and healthier."
Betty laughs. Michael looks at me with a surprised look, also happy at my miraculous healing, "You still need to take your medicine to be on the safer side."
I nod my head briefly and stand, " Can I go back to Dave now?"
Betty pulls me back to sit beside her," Come on Jones."
Everyone laughs, including the doctor.
Michael shakes the doctor's hand," I will advise you to place Jones beside her boyfriend or she wouldn't take the medicine."
The doctor's eyes went wider for a while. He looks at me briefly, " She's his girlfriend?"
Michael moves nearer, "Actually his wife-to-be," he whispers but I heard.
I hiss, "Keep on gossiping while I go see Dave," I say and walk out.
I can still hear their laughter.
The doctor seems to be a very close friend of Dave's. He looks so happy while he was telling us about his health condition. And he looked so eager when Michael told him I'm Dave's girlfriend.
In fact, I can't help but notice the closeness between Michael and the doctor. Imagine him telling him things.
I will ask Dave about him. All I want is for Dave to open his eyes. Gosh, I was so scared.
I walk inside Dave's room. He was in the highest VIP room. I move closer to him now and touch his hand. I feel butterflies rise in me. I feel so happy he's alright. I feel so happy and well.
I will never forgive Jones for this. I will never forgive her for putting Dave into trouble.
