+CHAPTER 11+ King Against The Cold Queen

Darach was on the verge of pulling the demon's head off his body. His tolerance was running low.

For the hundredth time, Darach had asked the demon the whereabouts of his mate but the demon's lips were sealed. No matter what Darach said, the demon acted like Darach didn't even exist or as if Darach is a pest under his boot.

Darach had never met someone so stubborn.

Normally he would just give a look to anyone to have their mouth open but with this frustrating demon, Darach hadn't even able to know her name let alone any other information.

Hell! Darach didn't even know his own mate's name, he made a mental note of changing that as soon as possible.

"If you don't know where she is then can you tell me where should I wait for her?" Darach asked again.

Darach didn't know where she lived but the house he woke up in was covered in her scent. Either she goes there a lot or maybe she lives there.

Darach hadn't told the demon that he wanted to find her because he was her mate and Darach had no intention of telling him that any time soon. Not until he knew his mate's identity.

When the demon again opened his mouth to give Darach the same reply that he was giving him from the past few hours, it took every ounce of Darach's self-control not to end the demon's pitiful existence.

"I need permission from the Queen to tell you anyone's whereabouts." Rome gave the lycan the same reply.

Amber's suspicion about the king was right, he was here for his sister and the missing lycans. From what he had listened from his conversation with his brother it was clear that he won't leave without them. Already he had caught the scent of the missing lycans. Soon it won't matter how much Amber hides them from him.

Rome knew that he can't tell the lycan about Amber. Rome had spent his whole life under Amber's wings. She had taken him in when no one had spared him a second glance when he was a little kid searching for food in the dumpsters.

Amber had changed his life~

But in his life, Rome had never heard someone calling Amber a wee little thing. Rome knew that this Lycan King was asking for Amber's whereabouts but he didn't tell him that Amber was the Queen.

Because it was Amber's command not to tell him a single thing about her Queendom. The king was a threat to every Lycan present on Amber's territory. And they didn't want to give him an advantage over them.

Rome had barely controlled his laugh when the lycan brute was describing Amber to him. His exact words were 'She's just a wee little girl, if you don't look attentively you could definitely miss her in a crowd. She's small, very small like a little baby with weird mesmerizing eyes, yeah... yeah... her eyes... they are like burning fire! Do you know her?'

The lycan king was the first man who considered The Cold Queen as harmless as a baby. If anyone else would have listened to his description of Amber, they would definitely lose their shit. Amber was the exact opposite of his description.

Aside from all this Rome was confused by Amber's decision. He didn't know why she had let this man stay at her own home. Only a few trusted people were allowed inside her home, she was extremely territorial and she had given this lycan an open permit to stay under her roof.

The Queen was mad to let a threat stay in her own home, so close to her but no one ever claimed that she was a sane person.

Hell! Rome was the second person Amber took under her wings, if she hadn't taken care of him he would probably be dead from hunger a long time ago. Rome had seen the side of Amber that not everyone was blessed to witness.

The loving, carefree and motherly side of Amber~

Rome was pulled out of his thoughts by the Lycan's growling statement.

"Then take me to your fucking Queen! I can ask the bitch myself!!" Darach had enough of all this shit. This place was fucked up. He can't find his people, his sister and now he can't even find his mate.

This place was beginning to make him feel like a failure. He was fed up from hearing the same answer from the demon. Darach was already frustrated by the fact that he can sense his sister and people on this land but he can't find them.

He was so close to them but somehow so far. . .

Darach was pulled out of his thoughts when the demon lunged at him. His once curled horns were now straight with rage. His eyes were black, claws out. Darach barely dodged his attack. His claws left gashes on Darach's left cheek.

Darach held back a curse.

"You dare disrespect my Queen! You bloody useless king!" The demon let out a raged roar.

Darach had taken enough of the demon's disrespect. How dare he call him useless! No one gets to live after disrespecting the King.

With pure rage, Darach pulled his fist back to punch the daylight out of the disrespectful scum but he watched in horror when his fist connected with a small figure which looked similar to his mate.

Any remaining doubt of the small figure's identity was cleared when Darach's mate's scent washed over him.

It felt like the time had stopped ticking~

Everything happened in slow motion. . .

Gasps sounded from all around. A small crowd assembled around them. Everyone was watching the scene unfold.

They watched Amber hitting her back on the ground, blood coming out from her busted lips. Like a ragged doll Amber laid on the ground, too shocked to comprehend what had happened.

Everyone was rooted to the ground with shock, it was the first time someone had laid a successful blow on their Queen. They waited for the Queen to end the Lycan king. . .

The King against The Cold Queen~

It was the rule number one of Amber's Queendom.
You mess with the Queen and you lose something dear. The king had not just messed with the Queen, he had struck the Queen.

May the Dark Gods bless the King's soul~
