+CHAPTER 15+ Arguing

Darach looked towards his mate who was busy in a heated discussion with her self made family. 

Yup! Self-made. . .

He was not an idiot, even when Amber introduced them as her family, Darach had clearly seen that they were not related to blood. 

It was beyond him that how can she reveal not just their kind but the whole supernaturals to a weak human. But Darach was smart enough not to question his mate's life choices.

He can clearly see that the Demon and human female was as close to Amber as a family and he didn't want to hurt his mate. If they were important to her than they were important to him too.


Whenever Darach was around Amber he can't think straight. He was either busy in admiring her or he was just lost in a haze of lust. But now when he saw her talking with that demon and human he can't shake the feeling off that there was something odd about his mate.

He had seen her inner lycan but Darach can't scent her. It was like Amber's beast was weak or something was making her weak. It was common for females to have a submissive beast but it seemed like Amber's beast was suppressed by something or something was really wrong with her beast.

Darach had hardly seen his mate's lycan besides their passionate encounters and even in their passionate encounters, he had just seen a few glimpses of her inner lycan, nothing more.

It seemed like she had a dormant lycan.

He can catch a faint scent of her beast but it was surrounded by an overwhelming smell of the forest after the rain. It was addicting and maddening at the same time. It's like there was a cloak concealing her beast's scent.


But the absence of her lycan doesn't lessen the fire that she held within her wee body. The way she talked clearly indicated that she was anything but a submissive woman. Actually, she was far from submissive, even Darach felt tongue-tied in front of her. 


Amber was like a breath of fresh air for him. She didn't bow down to him like the females of his kingdom. Actually, she didn't even give a fuck about him being the King of Lycans. All the females back in his kingdom were so obsessed with the idea of being his Queen. But not his mate. She wanted him because he was her mate, not a king and that was fucking arousing when a woman wanted with you for what you are not for what you bring to the table.

His unexpected wee fierce mate~

Even now Darach's lips curled into a smile when he gazed at his small mate trying to punch the demon on his face who was currently hiding behind the human girl. The demon was clearly afraid of Amber, it was written all over his face.

She looked cute, like a small baby. Darach felt so damn lucky. Amber was worth his centuries of wait and pain. 

Darach can gladly go through the same pain and self-destruction if in the end, he got Amber. Darach rubbed his chest while staring at his mate because it seemed that his heart had swollen from the love it carried for his soulmate.

Love. . . He had fallen in love with her the moment he saw her inspecting his injuries or more like taking advantage of his injured state.

It was like his heart was made to fall for her. She was his and Darach will do everything in his power to protect and provide her. She made him want to be a better person for her and a better king for his people. He wanted to make her feel proud to be his mate. He wanted respect from his mate, the same respect that she has for her Queen. 

After centuries the Moon had finally taken pity on him and ended all his sufferings. For the first time in his life Darach felt blessed and complete, no more he felt like he was missing a part of himself. With his little firecracker mate, he was complete and he can't ask for more.

"Rebecca I'm telling you to take him away from my sight before I beat the shit out of him!" Amber bellowed, glaring at Rome.

All she wanted was to introduce them to Darach and be done with it but the bastard can't keep his potty mouth shut even for a few minutes.


"I still don't believe that he's your fated mate. I'm telling you Rubby she's pulling a trick on us remember last time she kidnapped the Vampire King to make him her mate and king because she decided that vampires are above all the fractions of supernaturals after watching that damn movie Twilight. I don't believe her one bit!" Rome spat the words at Amber while still hiding behind Rebecca. 

Once a pussy always a pussy!


Amber was only a breath away from scaring Rome's handsome face again. It wasn't her fault. Anybody can fall in love with vampires after watching Twilight and Vampire Diaries. But Rome doesn't need to know that she had watched Vampire Diaries too. He had already made such a big deal out of Amber watching Twilight, God knows how much he was going to fuss about Vampire Diaries if he found out.


"Dark Gods help me, guys. What will it take for you guys to believe that he's actually my fucking mate, not just a stupid fling." Amber growled at them.


"You said the same thing about that vampire. How do we know that you're not lying this time?" Rebecca asked suspiciously. 


Amber gave Rome a dirty look with a promise of retribution for planting doubts in Rebecca's mind.


"For crying out loud! I met the Goddess Rebecca and she confirmed that he's actually my fated mate, not just a new boy toy. Do you think that I'll lie about this?" Amber glared at Rome while putting a little stress on the term 'boy toy' that he had blurted in front of Darach.

The fucker knew how to ruin her innocent image in her mate's eyes.

Rebecca gasped at Amber. "But he's... he... he is the Lycan King Amber. Do you realize how messed up this is?" Rebecca asked in a shaky tone. 

Amber looked towards her front door where Darach was standing totally oblivious to the spell that she had created around three of them to stop anyone from hearing their conversation.

He was looking at Amber with his lips curled in a smile, an adoring look on his face while he rubbed his left hand over his heart. 

Warmth filled Amber's chest while looking at her mate. No one had ever looked at Amber the way her mate was staring at her like she was an angel.

His Angel~

"I guess we can't do anything about it. He's mine and I'm planning on keeping him to myself." Amber muttered without looking away from her mate. She felt adored under his gaze. Adored and loved.

She had a sudden urge of going back to him...

"Amber are you forgetting that this Queendom came into existence because we wanted to keep the royal lycans out of our lives and now you are planning to invite them here to just destroy the peace that we have built on this land. They are going to destroy you, Amber. Just like they destroyed me." Rebecca said, hyperventilating.

Rome was looking at both of them as if he had no idea that what the fuck was going on. Maybe it was better for him that he didn't know anything about their past. At least one of them can enjoy his life without their past dragging him down.

"Don't blame everyone for the deeds of that one bastard. It's high time you move on from him. How many more centuries are you planning to waste because of him Rubby?" Amber knew that she was treading on thin ice but she was doing this for Rebecca's sake.

From the past days, Amber was so busy with Darach, his sister and her confused feelings that she totally forgot about Rebecca, she didn't even get the time to talk to her about that bastard prince.

"Do you really think that I didn't move on because of him Amber?" Rebecca mumbled while looking at her with tear-filled eyes.

"What else would have stopped you? This place is filled with hot-blooded males Rebecca but you have never given them a second glance. What I'm supposed to think?" Amber exclaimed.

"I lost him a long time ago Amber and I'm over it but you know what I can't move on from? In desperation of running away from him, I lost a part of myself that night, I lost my child Amber and as if that wasn't enough you know what the Goddess did to us." Rebecca sneered, her eyes were cold and lifeless at the mention of the Goddess.

Amber narrowed her eyes and clenched her fists. "Don't challenge me, Rebecca." Amber warned.

Rebecca has opened the chapter of their lives that Amber had burned a long time ago. Besides the memory of her mother abandoning her in the face of death, this was the second thing that Amber wished she could forget.

"Woh ladies! Just cool down a bit. Can someone please tell me what's going on? I just lost the track of our conversation." Rome asked, struggling to keep up with them.

"Stay out of it Rome! This doesn't concern you." Amber snapped at Rome leaving him speechless.

"I'm not challenging you. I'm just trying to stop you from destroying everything that we paid so hard to build." Rebecca argued as if Rome has not spoken at all.


"I don't care for anything if I have to give him up Rebecca. It's finally time that we came out from hiding behind these walls. And I can't reject Darach for something that he had no part in. And I can't just hide everyone from their mates anymore. If they are strong enough to leave their soul mates then it's time that I show them a way to break the mate bond that the  Moon had cursed them with. It's time for them to stop living in fear." Amber looked straight in her eyes. Amber was shocked by how desperately she wanted to be with Darach. Her heart ached from just thinking about leaving him. No one was more surprised by these feelings than Amber herself.

At this moment she decided that she was keeping Darach no matter what.

"Amber you can't do that! The king will kill you before you break a single mate bond. Mate or not he's their king. You will just set a target on your head by revealing your powers. Lycans protect their own Amber and you are mad if you think that they will let you take their most prized possessions from them."


Rebecca was a breath way form shaking some sense in Amber. She knew that Amber was crazy but it took complete madness to do what she was planning to do. Hiding the lycans under her wings was one thing but introducing them to a way of breaking the mate bond was bloody insanity. 

Rebecca can see that Amber was poking the beast with a bloody wooden stick and it won't end well for anyone if she executed her plan. 

The lycans will kill Amber in cold blood if she tried to split the mated souls apart.

"They won't if I became their Queen. And one more thing, I never claimed that I'm sane." Amber said with so much confidence that it left Rebecca speechless. And with that, she started walking towards the King of Lycans.


Rebecca can't believe what she was witnessing. Her friend was walking on her path. The same path that had given Rebecca nothing but grief and sorrow of a lifetime. The same path that had stripped Rebecca from a part of her own soul. 


The same path that had killed Rebecca's inner beast leaving a shell of a person behind, with a curse of immortality. 

Rebecca was the reason why this Queendom came into existence. She was the first one who ran from her mate. She was the one who started all this. 


It was not a secret who her mate was. He was the person who was currently laying on a cot in the healing center. He was the person who had done everything in his power to show Rebecca that she was worthless.

He has done everything to show her that she wasn't welcomed in his home or heart but when she had tried to run from him he followed because it doesn't matter if The Prince of lycans wanted her or not because the thing that mattered was that his beast craved his mate and Rebecca was there just for the sake of his beast and every day the Prince did a pretty good job of making her feel unwanted.


Last time while helping her Amber almost got killed by the Goddess. Rebecca was no one to Amber but that didn't stop Amber from helping her even when helping Rebecca would have cost Amber her own life. 

Sometimes Amber can be an evil sadistic demon spawned bitch from hell that will make you rue the day you were born but only when she was provoked. That was the main reason no one here in their right mind will ever dare to cross her or get at her wrong side.

Amber thought that everyone here was loyal to her because she had given them her protection but she didn't know that she has given them more than protection. Amber has given them a chance to start over, to leave the past behind, she has saved them from a doomed future and for that everyone present on her Queendom can give their lives for her.

She has more than their loyalties. She has love and respect. They are forever in her debt just like Rebecca and they can't ask for anything else. They are just happy here. 

Rebecca just wanted to knock some sense into Amber's thick skull that she didn't need to introduce them to a way to break their bonds. It will bring nothing but destruction in her life and everyone around here. Amber was playing with fire and those who play with fire got burnt.
