+CHAPTER 51+ One or Two

Amber caressed her baby bump as she gazed up at the sky. The sun wasn't completely up yet, there was a certain type of peace in the atmosphere. After so long Amber felt content. She wanted to be there for her child but this time not alone, She wanted Darach to be with her.

Amber had realized that it didn't matter that from which race her child will belong because Amber's love will be enough for her child.

She was afraid of giving birth to a girl but not anymore~

If she gave birth to a witch then she will train her daughter to love herself. She will tell her that she was beautiful and anyone who'll tell her daughter otherwise will get his ass kicked by Amber.

Oh, it will be too much fun to train her daughter to kick fool's asses. Will her daughter look like Amber or Darach? Or was she going to give birth to a son? Amber's lips curved in a smile, she couldn't wait to find out. Suddenly a shadow passed by the woods pulling Amber out of her thoughts.

Amber frowned as she followed the shadow.

"Stop!" Amber commanded. The person stopped at her command but didn't turn around face her.

"Don't you know that you won't be able to come back here once you leave? Do you want to get yourself killed in the wastelands?" Amber asked in a distracted tone.

She was in a really good mood today and she didn't want to deal with anyone and she cared less about the idiot who was running from her territory.

"I'm the only thing in the forest who can terrify those beings beside you. There is no spirit out there stronger than me." The Oracle's voice rose goosebumps on Amber's skin.

She watched as the Oracle removed the cape of her cloak. Her wild jet black hair was a mess. Her eyes were red, not the usual lifeless black color.

She was wearing just a shirt, her Dragon mate's shirt beneath her cloak. She looked like a woman who was running away after a one night stand.

"What are you doing here?" Amber asked as she stared at the Oracle's lips which were swollen.

What the hell was going on with the Oracle?

"Why are you asking the obvious? Can't you see that I'm running away?" The Oracle snapped at Amber impatiently.
This was the first time the Oracle was talking to Amber after she lost her shit. She had helped Amber in the past months but she had never talked to Amber.

"I'm sorry child, I shouldn't lash out at you when you are carrying lives within you. It's just that a lot of things are running through my mind."

"You hardly have your mind clear Oracle. You suffer from insanity." Amber sighed as she shifted her weight from one leg to another. Even standing for too long was tiring her out.

The Oracle smiled at Amber, her eyes held amusement in them.

"I don't suffer from insanity Amber, I enjoy every minute of it." She gave a hollow laugh.

"Would you like to sit with me?"
Amber sat on the floor and patted the floor beside her for the Oracle to join her.

When the Oracle sat beside Amber after some hesitation, Amber inquired. "Why are you running away from Aidan?"

"You are noisy like Charlie." The Oracle thumped Amber's boob.

"Hey, that bloody hurts!" Amber gasped in pain as she covered her chest against the Oracle's assaults.

The Oracle laughed and Amber's jaw dropped. It was the first time she was seeing her laugh. She looked younger and less troubled when she laughed.

"Do you miss your sister?" Amber asked and at once the Oracle's laughter died.

She looked at Amber with longing. "Every fucking minute. But listening to her heart beating inside you soothes my soul. I don't miss her that much when I'm around you." She confessed.

The longing in the Oracle's voice made Amber realize that how lonely the mad witch actually was.

"Don't go, Ines, stay here with me. Aidan needs you, that fucker had already got you after centuries. He will take care of you." Amber pleaded.

"I can't give him what he wants, Amber. He's chasing after me to release his kind from Dranina cause." At Amber's puzzled look the Oracle explained.

"The dragons are cursed that there kind won't have a female born in them and Aidan thinks that I can lift the curse which is impossible because I have no part to play in the prophecy."

"How are you so sure that he's chasing after you for a curse? Maybe he is chasing after you because he is in love with you. I have seen it in his eyes." Amber tried to reason with the Oracle.

"And I have read his mind. He thinks that I can give birth to a female dragon. He thinks I'm pure but he doesn't know. . ." Sorrow laced the Oracle's tone.

"You never know what fate has planned for you. Maybe you can give birth to a female dragon and lift the curse."
The Oracle laughed without humor at Amber's words.

"How's a cursed being supposed to lift a curse from a whole fucking cursed race?" The Oracle questioned while looking at the sky as a lone tear escaped from her eyes.

"What do you mean by that?" Amber inquired.

"Do you think I want to run away from him? Do think I want to witness the look of pure horror on his face when he will find out that I can't touch children?" Amber sucked in a breath.

"What do you mean by you can't touch children?" Amber asked.

"I can't? I don't remember telling you that?" The Oracle asked genuinely confused.

"You just told me that you can't touch children." Amber asked.

Amber's eyes widened when she watched the Oracle's once red orbs turning into lifeless black color again.

"What are you talking about and what I am doing here?" Oracle looked around in alarm.

"I was supposed to run before he wakes up." The Oracle stood from the ground, her eyes wide in fear.

Fear for what?

She was a being immortal feared. What was she afraid of?

The Oracle started heading towards the boundary of Amber's Queendom. Getting up from the ground with her giant belly had Amber panting for breath but that didn't stop her from following the Oracle.

"Stop Ines!" Amber shouted.

"Keep your voice down!" Turning around the Oracle hissed at Amber. Her eyes were looking behind Amber as if she was afraid that her Dragon mate was going to appear at any moment.

"Darach won't have the nightmares anymore. I have lifted my spell from him." The Oracle mumbled distractingly, still looking over Amber's shoulder.

A gust of breath left Amber's mouth.

"You cast a spell on him? I thought it was me." Amber asked in astonishment. She had been so caught up in trying to stop the Oracle that it had escaped her mind that she came here to release Darach from the spell in the first place.

The Oracle's eyes focused on Amber. "It was important for him to experience what you survived. A lesson you will be glad in the future that I gave him." And then she turned around to leave again Amber realized that they were already close to the boundary.

The seriousness of the situation dawned upon Amber. "Don't leave Ines. Give Aidan a chance."

The Oracle's shoulders stiffened at her words, turning around she faced Amber again. "Forgive Emmeline." She retorted.

This time Amber's shoulders stiffened. They both stared at each other knowing that they both cannot do what the other one was asking for.

"Take care of the little ones." The Oracle stared at her stomach before she disappeared beyond the boundaries of her Queendom in the wastelands that held nothing but darkness for her.
