+CHAPTER 46+ Cracked Ribs

Turning around Amber particularly ran towards her home. The fucker who said that peace fills a person's mind when he forgives someone had fucking lied. Because currently there was chaos brimming inside her soul.

She needs to distance herself from everyone. Distance keeps her safe, distance keeps her sane.

Amber wanted everyone to leave her alone but at the same time, she wanted them to stay...

It was a mixed feeling like when you forgive a person but a part of you is still clinging to the past, reminding you of all the hurt they had caused you. A part of you still wants them to suffer for all the pain you have endured. It doesn't matter if you have forgiven them.

Sometimes its too difficult to let go of the past~

You want to let go but at the same time, you don't. Because some permanent damage had been done to your soul that can't be reversed.

Amber closed her bedroom door with a bang.

Her breaths were coming out harshly. She was trying to calm herself down. So much hurt, so much pain, so much resentment, she was such a mess.

They wrecked her, they tore her apart pieces by pieces and now they want to put Amber back together. Do they think it is that easy?

They always say that the one you least suspect should always be the ones you suspect the most... Amber hadn't suspected in her wildest dreams that Elin was Emmeline's sister. Her aunt. That means that Jimmy was Amber's cousin.

They were right under her nose, Amber had been protecting her mother's family without knowing...

They had made a fool out of Amber, they had deceived her~

The door of her bedroom creaked open. She wasn't ready to face anyone yet, she wasn't ready to deal with more pain...

Before she could snap at the intruder to get the hell out of her home the scent of her mate engulfed her... Strangely it calmed her nerves.

Amber swirled around to find Darach standing at the entrance of her room. Their eyes collied, his expressions were soft. Amber was having a hard time figuring out that what was going inside his mind but she knew that what she might looking like at the moment.

A rabid animal who was having a hard time controlling herself.

Darach didn't say anything. He just closed the door behind him and leaned against the door, arms crossed over his chest, he just stared at Amber with his deep blue eyes.

He was wearing dirty clothes that were clinging to his muscle packed physique. His dirty blonde hair was a mess.

Amber would have found him gorgeous and irresistible if she had not caught the look of admiration in his eyes for her mother.

Every fucking person was smitten by Emmeline and it was bloody sickening to watch.

"You admire her." It was more of a statement than a question.

"I had no reason not to admire her." Darach replied silently.

"Why?" Amber couldn't keep herself from asking.

"She has always been a mother to me Amber, a woman every Lycan had looked up for guidance." Darach answered.

"So she was busy being a mother to you while she had abandoned her own daughter! Her own blood!" Darach flinched at her cutting words. He took a step towards her, there was grief shining in his eye.

"I'm sorry, little mate. I'm sorry for breaking your trust, for hurting you but I was in the same place in which you are currently standing...." Darach took another step towards her and Amber took a step back. She doesn't trust her body around him... She was afraid that if Darach came any closer she was going to lose it.

"What are you talking about?" Amber questioned.

"You know exactly what I am talking about. I wanted a future while holding onto my past. Just like you want a future with Uncle Aric and Aunt Emmeline in it but you are not ready to let go of the past to grab on the happiness that fate has offered to you. I know, I hurt you. I know Aunt Emmeline hurt you but you can't hold that against us forever. I don't want to end up like me." Darach crossed to Amber, clamping her nape with his hand.

"A big fucked up bastard who lost the blessing he had longed centuries for. I had nourished my hatred towards the witches like it was a part of me, feeding it a part of my soul and look where it had brought me." Regret laced his tone.

At this point, Amber was plastered against the wall. Darach was standing a breath away from her, cornering her, trapping her between the wall and his body.

He grabbed a strand of her black hair and rubbed the red tips between his fingers. Amber didn't dare to say a word.

"I hurt you in my hatred and now the look of love that your eyes held whenever you used to gaze at me is gone... And it hurts here like a bitch." Darach thumped his fist over his heart.

Tears fell from his eyes~

The pain in his voice was unbearable~

"It hurts to relive the things you had gone through. I want to destroy every lost soul out there with my bare hands. For what they had done to you when you were a child. The rapes, the violence... I..... " Fist clenched at her sides, Amber didn't let Darach complete his sentence.

"How do you know all this? What do you mean by reliving?" Amber snarled.

"I have the dreams of your past. Firstly, I thought that they were nightmares but today when you told Aunt Emmeline about how you had set your ribs back, how your heart had bled inside your chest. I knew that those were not nightmares. They were the vision of the past. I had felt your pain..." Darach rasped.

Amber felt extremely exposed.

He had seen, he knows...

The pain...

The humiliation...

He had seen all of it...

"After experiencing what you have gone through, after knowing that you are going to be a mother... I'm not going to let you out of my sight. You belong to me..." Darach caressed Amber's stomach affectionately while he buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent.

Amber's heart constricted inside her chest at his touch...

The way Darach had said those words to Amber, made her feel like she was his property. As if he was telling her to bow down before him.

Darach had forgotten how fragile Amber's mind was... Instead of bowing down before him, Amber barked out a manic laugh.

Wrapping her claws around Darach's neck she sneered. "I'm a warrior, a Queen and I belong to no one."

Amber's hair color was changing. They were turning platinum white. Her eyes flashed forest green.

The blue light-emitting from her palm caught Darach's eyes and in a blink Darach collided with her closed bedroom door, breaking it from its hinges.

"I should have broken their bond. Just because I spare the Fey Princess so now you think that you got another chance to fuck me over." Amber screamed at Darach.

"Amber I didn't mean to hurt you." Darach tried to calm her down.

"That's the problem, you never mean what you do or say! You never meant to keep those promises. You never meant to love me..." Amber bit out each word with venom lacing her tone.

"I tried to open up, thinking that you might understand but you deceived me, shut me out. You made me feel like there was something wrong with me. You made me feel ugly! I was so foolish to trust you with my heart." The blue light emitting from Amber's palm collided with Darach's chest.

Fuck!!

Shortly Darach was thrown out of Amber's home with cracked ribs and bleeding mouth.

Dear Moon! It hurts like a bitch...

"Welcome to the fucking club fool!!" With blurry vision, Darach gazed at Aidan, the fucking Dragon who looked extremely pleased with Darach's state.

Darach spit blood out...

"If it makes you feel any better than Aidan's beating was more severe than yours. He passed out like a pussy." Despite the pain, a smile pulled on Darach's lips as his Uncle insulted the proud Dragon.

"I didn't pass out, your daughter had cast a fucking spell on me." Aidan whined like a pup.

"You can believe it if it helps you to sleep at night." Aric said dismissively.

"I did not pass out Aric!" Aidan growled.

"Uh-huh...." Aric concealed a chuckle.

Aidan turned towards the Mad Oracle in anger.
"Tell them I didn't pass out, tell them." Aidan demanded.

The Oracle gave him a bored look.

"I didn't even know that you were there. If I knew, I wouldn't have come here in the first place." And then the Oracle turned toward an invisible person and started chatting with him. Dismissing all of them until Aidan pinched her nipple, extracted a squeal from her.

"Focus!" The Dragon gave her a measured look and the Oracle gulped audibly.

Suddenly, all eyes turned towards the two people who broke Amber's front door. The demon had broken the door from its hinges, entering Amber's home with Rebecca trailing behind him as if it wasn't a big deal and they had done it before.

Everyone was holding their breaths as they waited for the demon to come flying out of the house but that didn't happen.

A growl escaped from Darach's chest, he wants to go in there and pull that demon away from his mate. The beast within him doesn't understand that the demon was a child to Amber, he just saw the demon as a threat. . .

A threat around his pregnant mate~

When Darach took a step towards the house, Aric stepped in his path.

"The demon had earned his place in her life, son. He sits with her inside while we stand outside because we have not proven ourselves worthy enough of her trust, for her to share her pain with us." Aric gave Emmeline a measured glance.

The Fey Princess looked away in shame.

Aric was right, they hadn't proved themselves worthy enough in Amber's eyes for her to share her pain with them.

They were the reason behind her pain...

They had a long way to go before staking their claim on her.

"What the hell happened to you?" Aidan's voice pulled Darach out of his thoughts.
He followed Aidan's gaze and gasped.

Connor was standing there with multiple holes in his chest, blood was oozing out of the holes. It seems like someone has struck him with arrows. His eyes were golden, his beast was on the surface.

"Who did that to you?" Emmeline questioned but when she tried to approach Connor, he stepped back and growled in warning.

"He's reaping what he sowed." The Oracle announced with glee while clapping her hands.

Everything happened in slow motion. Everyone saw as a war cry rumbled from Connor's chest and he lunged at the Oracle to tear her apart.
