Chapter XVI

"Meetings are all finished! Congratulations to us, Sir Sebastian!" I said cheerfully as I clapped my hands.

He didn't utter a response but his eyes were glued on the outside of the road. I frowned and rolled my eyes. As always, why would I even say that? He never made a reply every time I would say those words cheerfully.

I huffed and nudged him with my elbow.

"What?" he said but his tone didn't sound snapping which is a good thing.

"Loosen up a little, Sir Sebastian." I rolled my eyes.

He sighed. "Just don't feel well." I heard him murmuring so I snapped my head at him. He said what?

Worried, I immediately placed my hand on his forehead which surprised him. "Are you having a fever? Headache? Do you need anything?" I asked as my hands were fidgeting, placing my hand on his forehead again, on his cheek, and on his neck to feel if his body rose from temperature.

It just surprised me because he never told me something like this that he was feeling ill or not. I want to tend to it as much as possible because he was my boss after all. I am his personal assistant to tend his personal matters.

This kind of words he said is a little alarming which is why I had to do something to make those 'not feeling well' go away.

I gasped when he stopped my hands and distanced them a little. A jolt of electricity suddenly flowed to the skin that made me irk a bit. "I am fine, Cejay. Let's follow your itinerary for tonight."

I furrowed my eyebrows, still worrying about him. "A-Are you sure? We can just stay in the hotel if—" I didn't finish my words when he shot me a glare. "Um... Okay. As you wish, sir." I distanced myself as the warmth of his hands on my wrists kept sending unnecessary goosebumps for my whole body. I turned at him again. "Are you really sure?" I asked one more time to confirm if he really wanted to continue this.

Sir Sebastian nodded. "Yes. The itinerary must go on."

"Really sure?" He frowned and narrowed his eyes at me for another question. I made an awkward laugh and looked away. "Right! As you said!" I exclaimed. I turned to Ricardo. "To the Yaowarat, please." He nodded and followed my request.

"Yao what?"

I gazed at Sir Sebastian who had confusion written on his face. I gleamed upon his curiosity. "It's Yaowarat, Sir Sebastian." I almost giggled. "It's Bangkok's famous Chinatown and in Thai, they called it Yaowarat."

"Ah. I see." He nodded his head then returned his gaze to the road.

"We'll get to see a wave of street food vendors, sir, so I know that you'll be full once we get to try eating some street foods there," I said excitedly.

I haven't gone there but I am quite curious and excited. I also want to taste some street foods there.

"You really put research into this, huh?"

"Of course! It's important that I put it in more detail since you agreed that we will follow my itinerary!"

I couldn't help myself boasting my research. I want to impress this boss of mine. I don't want him to find me a boring, dull assistant. He already hurt my ego when he said that for the whole year I worked with him, I was a boring person for him. I rolled my eyes mentally.

Sir Sebastian scoffed comically which made me frown. "Alright, Ms. Itinerary. I get you now."

Narrowing my eyes, I huffed at his remark. He just chuckled at my reaction.

Damn this man... If only he wasn't my boss, I could have strangled him. Sometimes he was annoying. Sometimes he was silent and neutral. And sometimes he was a dragon ready to spitfire.

I still have to explore this man's personality because it seemed like they were just blooming right now. Who knows what I could discover as I stayed with him for a long timeframe. Maybe I could change him to something better.

More likely, lessening of being grumpy?

That's what I could think of.

We had arrived at Bangkok's famous Chinatown. I couldn't help feeling giddy as my mouth watered just by smelling different kinds of street food paving in the way.

I heard Sir Sebastian's soft chortle. Frowning, I saw him scrutinizing me from up and down. "What?" I suddenly felt conscious of the way his ocean blue eyes scrutinized my whole body.

He shook his head as he tried to be an earnest one. But I managed to catch him having a mischievous smile playing on his lips. I rolled my eyes, looking down at my feet. I knew that he must be laughing at me suspiciously because I was wearing some white sneakers.

"At least, I won't stumble if I wear these." I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest. "It's better that I changed my footwear rather than wearing high heels," I said defensively.

A cackle escaped from his mouth. Then he raised both of his hands as if he was surrendering. "All right, all right, Ms. Merryweather. I already get your reasoning."

"Then why are you laughing?" I stomped my foot on the ground. This is to show off my annoyance with him.

That is why I hate having discussions with him sometimes because he would always do this. He would do anything to make me feel a little humiliated then I would be irritated at him.

I need to get back to him. I need vengeance for all this shit I experienced with him!

"I am not laughing," he presumed. "I am just amused with your action."

I blinked at his comment. He what? Amused? "You think I'm a clown?"

He gave me an unexplainable reaction while he was arching his eyebrow. "Try to comprehend what I said, Cejay." He shook his head in disappointment but those mischief and bemused expressions were still there in his eyes.

This time, I rolled my eyes for good. "Whatever." Hissing, I walked past him. "Let's go, Mr. Huntington." I marched and distanced myself away from him.

I am feeling much better by wearing sneakers in a crowded place. I won't be at a disadvantage this time. It's a pretty good thing.

I gazed up and almost left my mouth hanging open from seeing people swarming and eating some street foods. My nostrils were filled with the smell of mouth watering dishes. I could smell some strong spices not so far away from my position.

"Kho thot krap!"

I immediately gasped when someone grabbed me by my waist as a Thai man passed by me as he was lifting a box of goods on his shoulder after he said aloud some Thai words. I flinched as I was easily flying away from the road and grasped a hold to that bulging body of that someone. My heart was racing rapidly as I realized that I almost bumped into that man earlier if someone hadn't saved me.

I turned and looked up so I could thank that person but my eyes widened to see that it was Sir Sebastian who just saved me. I couldn't react as our bodies were being pressed together as his hands were on my waist, gently gripping it.

"Um..." I do not know what to say. Wait. What's his name again? Oh shit! Why did I suddenly get mesmerized by his ocean blue eyes and I almost forgot his name? Why are my heart and stomach somersaulting right now?

"Are you alright, Cejay?" Even though his face was stoic right now, his eyes were telling me differently. There was an emotion flashed on them that made me blinked.

"Um..." Oh my goodness! I got my tongue-tied as his handsome worried face was so close to me! I snapped back to reality and instantly panicked removing his hands on my waist. "I-I am totally f-fine, sir. Thank you," I said without dropping him a glare as I pretended to flatten some cripple on my pencil skirt while feeling my cheeks getting heated up.

He nodded. "Glad to know that. Be careful next time and be aware of your surroundings," he ordered hastily. "This is a busy road swarming with people so you need to be attentive and watch over your back. Understand?"

I pursed my lips into a thin line before I nodded. "I understand, Sir Sebastian. I will take note of that," I said politely and agreed with him.

He indeed cared about the people surrounding him. It may be mixed with an order but I could see that he won't just let his employees be hurt.

Well, except for the fact that if he is being grumpy and hotheaded, he wouldn't have a second thought of hurting his employees. If he is stressed, sometimes he would treat us as emotional baggage which is one of the annoying traits that he had.

"Let's go. I am famished already," he commented.

The next thing he did make me gasped softly in surprise. Instead of that, he would march away all by himself, he grabbed my left hand and tagged me along. My mouth hangs open as I feel shivers down my spine. Our skin touched as his touch sent millions of jolts through my body.

"Is it normal?" I mindlessly voiced out my thoughts to Sir Sebastian.

Perplexed, he furrowed his forehead. "Normal of what?" he asked.

"I felt a jolt of electricity from your hand."

"What?" His eyes widened a little as he lowered down his gaze to his hand grabbing mine while tagging me along. After a while, Sir Sebastian released a deep, hoarse chuckle. "What do you think?"

My mouth opened so I could answer him back while we were swarming against the sea of people but then my attention was diverted when I saw the most popular cheap seafood restaurant in Yaowarat Chinatown.

"T&K Seafood!" I exclaimed as I felt my eyes sparkle upon mentioning the name of the restaurant. "Let's go!" I pulled Sir Sebastian's hand as he let himself tag along with me.

I saw on my peripheral vision before we arrived at the said restaurant that he had drawn out a small smile and shrugged. Perhaps it was from my silliness.
