Chapter XVIII
We have finally arrived at Ko Samet, one of the eastern seaboard islands in Thailand. I saw the white sandy beach. We survived taking a bus from Ekkamai Station and sat our asses for three to four hours before we reached the pier. We spent another hour in the Thai boat to take us to the island. By 10 AM, we also managed to check-in at Silver Sand Hotel.
I was stunned that the room chosen by Sir Sebastian is supposed to be for four people but it has two double beds—in one freaking room! He didn't choose a hotel suite which can have two separate rooms! He chose two double beds in the same fucking heck room!
"You seemed dissatisfied with the room I picked, Cejay."
I snapped back and turned at him. I cracked a smile that hangs on my lips for quite a while. "N-No, sir. I-I am just surprised that..." I paused as I didn't know how to put them in words. I don't want him to be offended.
A playful smile teased on his lips. "I get to decide which room we should take a rest in instead of what you were doing before?"
I remained speechless for a moment. "Y-Yeah. I mean, never once in a while that you get to change your decision at the last minute. If what I already prepared is the one we are following except if you find it pretty unnecessary..."
There was one time he didn't like the room I chose. He just ordered me to find a new one but not him, picking a room that he wanted to stay in.
The corner of his lips slightly stretched as his orbs shone amusement. "Don't worry, if you are feeling offended from my—"
"I didn't say I am offended," I suddenly butt in and frowned. "Why are you concluding in advance, anyway?" This man... I swear he always wanted to spark unnecessary issues with me.
Sir Sebastian scoffed, grinning. "You are an interesting woman, Ms. Merryweather."
I pursed my lips into a thin line as I narrowed my eyes at him. He was making fun of me again. The audacity of this man to keep on doing this to me. He kept on teasing me whenever he had a chance... That was so rude!
"Can you not?" I was about to snatch his baggage from him after I closed the door but Sir Sebastian immediately slid his baggage on the other side so I couldn't reach it. "Sebastian!" I couldn't believe he was capable of fooling around with me. I fucking hate this man!
Why did I work for this grumpy man again?
"Are you feeling uncomfortable with me around, Cejay?"
I creased my forehead and stopped reaching the baggage. "What?" I was confused. "Uncomfortable?"
He nodded.
I scoffed. "You wish! I endure how grumpy you are for the whole year. You think I would still feel uncomfortable around you?" I huffed and snatched his luggage. "Let me do this, you ill-tempered man."
"That hurts my feelings."
I rolled my eyes. "You're being dramatic. It doesn't suit you." I shook my head as I went straight to the armoire to settle the next clothes he needs to wear later or tomorrow. I'm starting to get comfortable lashing out on Sebastian lately. The more he provokes me, the more I lash out at him.
The moment I reached the door of the armoire, a memory from last night suddenly recalled in my head. Judging from my position, I could still feel his touch on my waist and how he made me lean on his chest just so I couldn't open his wardrobe for some reason.
I snapped out of it and started briefing Sir Sebastian on what he should wear next while I am not looking at him. But I felt his stare on me that was making me uncomfortable again and I chose to ignore it.
"Did you get what I said?" I placed my hands on my waist, pivoting to see him staring at me while leaning on the headboard. "Sebastian!" I roared only to make him snap out.
"Very well. Indeed. I understand."
"Good. Good."
I settled my luggage as well then went straight to my bed to retire. I even laid down and stared at the ceiling. I think I am perfectly fine to have Sir Sebastian as my roommate. I don't feel uncomfortable at all, I guess.
"Sir?"
"Hmm."
I frowned at that kind of response. That was just so-so... I fluttered my eyes, feeling sleepy before I spoke. "Do you want to stroll around right now or take some rest, Sir Sebastian?" My eyes were getting droopy. I want to sleep...
I hadn't gotten to sleep last night due to last night's events. That impulse Sir Sebastian had done had made me stay awake for the whole night and I could barely sleep from that.
"The latter."
I put down my head, hanging on the edge of my bed to look at him as my hair was falling on the floor. Sir Sebastian was sitting near the window and was reading a book right now. My vision had turned upside down because of my position in the bed.
"Noted. Would you mind if I take a nap for a while, Sir Sebastian? I'll take thirty minutes I swear. Then we will stroll around later."
I waited for his response even though my eyes were getting droopy. Sir Sebastian gave me a side glance. Then there was a small smile plastered on his lips.
"Just take a nap. You deserve a long rest, Cejay. I can manage right here." He tapped the book he was reading.
That made me feel relieved. "Alrighty. Don't mind if I do." I drove off to sleep. Since I have his permission, I could take a nap now. In peace.
I was half-awake, yawning, and got up to see that Sir Sebastian was not on his bed. My eyes flew to the armoire and I was shocked to see his half-naked body as he was facing to take his clothes.
He closed the door and faced me. He blinked a little surprise. "You're awake now." He winced his wet hair as droplets of water rolled down to his shoulders and his broad chest.
I gulped when my eyes rolled down to his... Shit! Six-pack abs! I want to drool but no! I snapped back and looked away.
"What time is it?" I cleared my throat and faced the other direction of lying in the bed so I wouldn't see him getting dressed.
I want to tap my cheeks right now because I felt like I got flustered seeing his well-sculpted body. Damn.
"Quarter to four."
I gasped, turning at him. "What?" Eyes widened, I couldn't help taking my eyes to his abs again. I instantly looked away and glared at the bedside table to see the time. A loud gasp escaped from my mouth. "That wasn't a nap after all!" Shit! How could I sleep that long? "Have you had your lunch, sir?" I asked nervously and turned at him as he was busy wiping a towel over his hair, looking at me with his godly body. Sebastian gave me a teasing look. I frowned. "Can you just dress up instead of flaunting your body to me?" I felt myself getting flustered in embarrassment.
His body was a distraction for my whole being. Why the heck is he flaunting it anyway? To make me drooled? If he was, he was already winning!
Sir Sebastian let out a small chuckle. He turned around. "I'll be right back."
That made me relieved.
I suddenly panicked when I remembered my nap took more than three hours. I am not sure if he already had his lunch. But I want to take a quick shower first.
It didn't take long for Sir Sebastian to come out, looking so fresh and young with his classic V-neck t-shirt and khaki pants. It was all new to me that he would ever wear clothes other than his suits. His masculine soap was lingering in my nose and even his aftershave smelled so good. He looked down to see me.
"Have you had your lunch?" I asked, quite worried because I didn't know that I could be slumbering so peacefully.
He nodded. "I didn't wake you up because it seems like you looked so tired from the trip."
I sighed, feeling guilty. "I was supposed to be the one who will order your lunch instead, you ordered it yourself. I should have not taken a nap. I neglected my work. I'm—" I halted when he placed his hand on top of my head that made me blink in surprise. "Sir?" I gave him a questioned look.
Sebastian curled up a small smile. "You worry too much about my welfare, Cejay. You deserve to have a long nap. Worry not for we are having a vacation. You take a quick shower and let's go out."
I slightly frowned and nodded even though I was feeling heavy with his hand on my head.
"Good girl. Now, go. I'll wait for you here."
Good girl? What am I? A little girl? I narrowed my eyes at him. "I'm not a little girl."
His amusement expression appeared on his face. "You are? But you look like a little girl to me." A teasing smile smeared on his lips.
I jerked his hand away from me and even slapped his arm. "You are annoying." I scoffed and passed by him. "At least I am not a grumpy old man." I rolled my eyes.
I just heard his low chuckle when I entered the bathroom. I took a quick shower and even changed there in a summer flowy dress. I didn’t need to wear something so formal because this is a vacation I set for the itinerary.
I got out of the bathroom only to see Sir Sebastian wearing loaf shoes and was in front of the vanity mirror to fix his hair. I frowned looking at the style of it.
"No brushing up! We're not going to something formal!" I almost squealed in annoyance as I approached him.
"What? What do you mean?" Sir Sebastian looked so confused as I snatched his comb away from him.
"Sit!" I ordered him to sit in my bed.
Eyebrows furrowed, he gasped a little and scrutinized his eyes up and down on me before he sighed in defeat and followed me. "I don't get it, Ms. Merryweather," he said as he sat down on the edge of my bed.
I stayed in front of him and approached him to style his hair. I smelled his musky fragrance and the male cologne I chose for him. It was alluring but I chose to ignore it. "You don't get it because you are not used to having a vacation. That is not appropriate to style your hair. You could have just worn your suit to complement your hairstyle." I was shaking my head and winced his hair.
Sir Sebastian didn't speak and stayed silent as he wordlessly glanced up to me. His breath was fanning my chest. I found it uncomfortable how intense his eyes were and how close I am to my boss. I simply gulped and styled his hair according to his simple outfit.
"It is my first time seeing you get dressed like this, Cejay."
I paused for a while and checked down my dress. I released a small cackle. "I knew that this is going to be your reaction, sir." I gently pushed back the baby hairs near his ear. "Don't worry, it's my first time seeing you in a casual outfit." I lowered down my head a little to brush that stubborn little hair. Sir Sebastian has a bit of wavy hair and it's good to rake my fingers on his soft hair. "Let's not comb it too much so we will let the wind brush it up for you in a bit of a messy way," I said as I mindlessly touched his jaw and sided his face to look at him. Fuck! Why is so handsome by the way? "There! I'm finished."
Smiling, I glanced down to meet his eyes. I stiffened from our closeness. I suddenly lost thought just by staring at his ocean blue orbs. They were so beautiful to look at and I could stare at them all day if I want to. Good Lord, please forgive me. I am looking at his lips right now. Why do they look so sinfully kissable?
Could I have a delectable taste to those sinful lips of his?
Why was he staring at me back like he wanted something from me? Like he was anticipating me to do something as his breath was fanning on my face. His hand slowly took my hand and gently brought it to his lips. My breath hitched because of that.
That was the first time Sir Sebastian did that to me. A sensual kiss on the back of my palm sent tingles down my spine.
If I seduce him, would he respond?
I snapped back, gasping from that thought. What the hell am I thinking right now?! Seduce him? What the heck, Cejay? "Um... All done!" I said, exaggerating, and stepped backward as I released my hand from his. I even released an awkward chuckle.
Sir Sebastian nodded and cleared his throat before he stood up. "Well, then. Go and fix yourself." He turned his back on me and went straight to his bed to take his phone.
I suddenly felt relief because he didn't make it more embarrassing for me. To divert my attention so he couldn't see my face flustering right now as what I could see in the mirror, I went to the vanity mirror to use the hairdryer.
But I could still feel the awkwardness hanging between us. Shit... I wasn't trying to seduce him. It was never my intention.
But why do I feel like he was the one seducing me?
Or was it just my imagination?
