Chapter XX
I gritted my teeth in annoyance just from what she just stated. I slightly trembled from wanting to slap this bitch.
What the fuck did she say? Does she want me to punch that annoying face of hers? She just called me a cheap woman. The audacity... I wanted to laugh mockingly.
"My, my." It was Mr. Cilantro and his joyful voice. He put his hand on her shoulder. "My dearest, she's Sebastian's personal assistant. Do not be rude."
"Ah." She scrutinized me up and down. The way she scrutinized me was disgusting. "'Kay." Then she scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest.
Mr. Cilantro stretched an apologetic smile to me. "On behalf of my daughter, Kiana, I would like to apologize for her behavior. She didn't mean that."
"Dad!" Her daughter frowned, then shot me a glare which made my blood boil.
I secretly gnashed my teeth for this bitch. I wanted to lash out at her but with Mr. Cilantro's apologetic tone, I couldn't help but bow my head at him.
"It's al—"
"No." Sir Sebastian butt in that made me cut off my words with his stern tone. I turned to him. His glare sent daggers to Kiana who immediately stepped backward. "Apologize to Cejay. Now!" He growled which made Kiana step back.
Kiana frowned a little. "But Sebby... I didn't know..." She even executed a pleading look but Sir Sebastian's expression remained unchanged.
I wanted to smirk right now. It was obvious that my boss didn't buy her attitude. He didn't even buy what Mr. Cilantro said. His menacing aura aired around us was enough for her to get scared.
Kiana pouted and looked at me. Her lips were pursed into a thin line. "I'm sorry. I... I didn't mean to call you that."
I just pursed a small smile and made a small bow. "I understand, Ms. Cilantro," I said in an unambiguous tone, looking at her with a straight face.
"Let's go, Cejay," Sir Sebastian said in his cold tone as he passed by me after I said those words.
"Yes, sir," I said in my formal tone, making a bow. I turned at Cilantro's. They had an embarrassing expression the moment Sir Sebastian passed by them. "We will take our leave," I stated formally.
I made haste with my pace to catch up with Sir Sebastian who had fallen silent. His menacing aura was still lingering but it wasn't the usual aura that I felt whenever he wanted to fire someone. I could tell that he was calming himself right now.
"Don't let someone bruise you verbally, Cejay."
I blinked, glancing at him. His gaze was still straightforward and didn't intend to look at me. I nodded after a moment.
"Yes, sir. I will take note of that."
I was just surprised by Kiana Cilantro. I never thought she would ever say that. With that bitchy attitude, she deserved to receive the harsh attitude from my boss.
"I want to slap her. She's annoying," I said truthfully when we found another restaurant to have our dinner.
He spared me a glance. His upper lip lifted, almost stretching out a grin. His eyes already sparkled with amusement.
"Why didn't you do it then?"
I frowned. "Her father is there. If only he is not connected to you, sir, I would make a show." I huffed, feeling bitter from what she said for calling me a cheap woman.
A small chuckle released from him. "Next time, if she spouts another insulting word, just do what is the first thing that comes to mind. I don't mind." He leaned on his seat. "Don't worry. I'll take responsibility for you since you have my permission."
"I will take note of that. I hope you will not forget what you said to me, Sir Sebastian," I said through chuckling.
"Rest assured. I do not just forget some matters in my life. If it is related to you, I won't ever forget them," he said meaningfully.
I blinked, slightly tilted my head. "What does that even mean?" I asked. Was he talking about how I acted for the whole year and how I easily managed to throw it away because I felt like he was insulting me?
Sir Sebastian just answered me with a shrug which earned me a frown. Nice answer, Sebastian. You have a very nice answer you have there. You always gave me a vague answer. Tsk. I want to say those things but I stopped myself and I don't want to ruin my mood with him. Knowing him, he knew how to spark annoyance with me.
We were having a nice talk just like we were pals while we were waiting for our orders. Even though he didn't smile a lot, it was enough that I got to see from time to time that he would chuckle or smile at what I am going to say. I was the one who was much talkative than him and Sebastian just responded when he wanted, too.
I felt like I have a crush on him already.
Who wouldn't have a crush or be like him? Yes, he is handsome with his ocean blue eyes and his aura represents peril if you mess up with him. He also has a mysterious aura surrounding his personality. I know that I hadn't fathomed Sebastian yet but it would take time to comprehend everything about him.
"Hi, Sebby!"
"Well, well. Sebastian Huntington, is that you?"
I stopped from grinning after teasing Sebastian that I would take a bet that Kiana likes him when someone interrupted. I looked up to see three people. It was Mr. Cilantro again and her daughter. But there is another man who I think is the same age as Sir Sebastian. He looked like the young version of Mr. Cilantro in his acting years.
"Oliver Cilantro. What a surprise."
I turned at my boss whose voice suddenly got cold. There was an unpleasant expression on his face which I could already surmise that Sebastian didn't like this man named Oliver Cilantro in the very first place. The way his dull eyes darted on him was already enough that he hated him.
On the other hand, Oliver Cilantro has an arrogance airing on him. I heard of him before. He was one of the bachelor young businessmen in the Forbes Magazine and had his own business company called North Wind Conglomerate. He was also a well-known Casanova which they say runs in the blood of Cilantro. There was a mocking, sardonic smile plastered on his lips.
I could already tell that he was way different from my boss already. Their difference was measurable.
"Now I know why my sister wants to come here because this bastard is here." Sir Oliver grinned sardonically.
Sir Sebastian huffed with a small smirk. "Now I know why the atmosphere has become displeasing and unpleasant. It is because you are here," he retorted.
"What did you say?" He clenched his hands and was about to throw a punch when Mr. Cilantro stopped him on his shoulder.
"Oliver!" Mr. Cilantro almost scolded him by calling his name. "Can you not make a scene?" he whispered in a hissing tone.
I couldn't even do anything. I was just watching them with this kind of drama that was happening right now. When I looked at my boss, his expression was darkened but he looked calmer. I could see the triumph in his eyes.
Mr. Oliver Cilantro backed down as the waiter placed down the order of our food. Then his eyes set on me. His annoyed face immediately dissipated and turned to a soft one. His attention focused on me.
"Hi! I'm Oliver Cilantro. I believe you are the personal assistant of Sebastian my father has been talking about. May I know your name, milady?" he said politely and softly. He even moved to make a bow like a prince from a certain kingdom.
"Um... Me?" I pointed to myself. Was he talking to me? Was he?
He nodded, showing the perfect set of his white teeth. "Your name is?" He even laid his hand, offering me a handshake.
Should I say my name? "Um... I'm Cejay Merryweather, Sir Oliver." I stretched out a small smile and accepted his hand.
"Cejay..." He mentioned my name like he was tasting it if it was according to his taste. Later on, he chuckled and smiled. "Has anyone told you that you have a very unique name, Ms. Cejay?" I shook my head. No one in my life had ever told me that my name is unique. If he is referring to the spelling, maybe that was what he thought was unique. "If no one has said yet, then let me be the one to tell you that." Instead of shaking my hand, he put a light feather kiss on the back of my palm while looking at me intently.
That made my heart jump a little from his gesture. "T-Thank you, Sir Oliver." That was a bit fluttering but I knew I shouldn't let it through to my system. I showed him a generous smile and bowed a little.
"Hands off to her."
I gasped, eyes widened when Sir Sebastian stood up and snatched my hand away from Sir Oliver. He even blocked my way and faced Sir Oliver with a little distance.
"Get your casanova hand out from my personal assistant, Oliver," Sir Sebastian said in his dangerous tone.
"Oh? Why? I am just praising her because of how unique her name was. Also, she has an eye-catching beauty." He peeped from the shoulder of Sir Sebastian to see me. "I think I like her." Sir Oliver smiled at me then looked at Sir Sebastian.
Sir Sebastian pushed him away to make him step back. Sir Oliver raised both of his hands, surrendering but there was a mocking smile lingered on his lips.
Mr. Cilantro sighed and tapped his son's shoulder. "Can you stop, Oliver? Stop tarnishing our family name with your behavior." I peeped from Sir Sebastian's side and saw Mr. Cilantro smiled softly. "We need to go and find another restaurant. I am sorry for the commotion caused by my son." He turned at the people who had been staring and watching us.
Sir Sebastian didn't answer. We watched them leave with Kiana waving her hand at Sebastian.
"See you again, Sebby. I missed you."
Sir Oliver glanced at me and winked. "We shall meet each other again, Ms. Cejay."
I just smiled as an answer. But I don't think I need to see him again. I don't want this kind of commotion that he caused.
He looked at my boss, smiling from ear to ear. "I'll see you as well, Sebastian."
Sighing, I saw how Sir Sebastian's hands clenched while glaring at the door where they left. I gulped seeing that kind of reflex he just did.
Shit...
"Sir." I stood up and touched his arm. He snapped his head at me. His frightening stare almost made me step backward but I stood still. "Calm down, Sebastian," I said softly.
He looked away and shook his head. "Take the order out and bring it to the hotel. I am not in the mood to eat anymore. Give me the card key." He opened his palm.
"Understood." I gave him the card key I kept in my wallet.
I watched him leave and left me alone in the restaurant as I was waiting for the staff to pack our orders. I even apologized to the owner for causing a commotion on behalf of my boss and for those people who just came here.
I walked alone, contemplating what happened earlier. There was so much happening for this day. It was making me tired.
It looked like I was going to eat alone in the hotel room. Sir Sebastian's mood had been ruined the moment he had a sharp conversation with Sir Oliver.
"Damn... What a day..."
