Chapter XXVII
My stomach somersaulted from his words. "Eh?" I asked, almost distorted.
He said what? I'm his? What the hell is he talking about?
I averted my gaze and smiled wryly, noticing that the people's attention was on us. I had to do something about this.
I grabbed all the courage before I dared to look back at Sebastian's eyes. "Sir, listen to me." I held his face with my hands and was forced to look at me. "We need to get out. You need to cool off your head. Understand me?" He didn't react, remaining with his stoic expression. I lowered down my hands and apologetically looked at Oliver. "On behalf of him, I will apologize for his rudeness."
"What? No!" Sebastian objected.
I ignored his whim and smiled wryly at Oliver who still has a serious face. I shot Sebastian a glare before I dragged him out of the hall and went outside to the children's playground. I placed my hands on my waistline, narrowing my eyes at Sebastian who looked so cool right now. His hands were stashed in his pockets.
"Care to explain the scandalous action you did, Sebastian," I said in an almost dangerous tone.
"Scandalous? That is not even the worst."
My jaw dropped at how coolly he said those words. I clenched and unclenched my hands right in front of him, gritting my teeth. This man... This annoying grumpy man... I couldn't believe he was acting like this.
"You're unbelievable!" I said in annoyance. "Where the hell are you going?" I watched him approaching one of the swings where there was only one seat available.
"Resting," he answered nonchalantly. "I hurried up driving back here and just arrived to see that a jerk is hitting my personal assistant." His face darkened when he darted his eyes at me. "Why do you even talk with him, Cejay?!" His tone rose. The visibility of how annoyed he was is palpable.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "What the hell are you talking about? Of course, I don't know anyone there and he is the only person I know of at this party!" I gritted my teeth again.
Sebastian is starting to get on my nerves. His irrational behavior was putting his company in demise. But it looks like Sebastian doesn't care about that.
Sebastian scoffed with a smirk. "You didn't even realize he is already hitting on you, you insensitive woman."
"Hold on!" The fucking nerve of this man! Me? A fucking insensitive? Wait a minute! "You have no rights to even—"
I was hanging in my words when Sebastian suddenly coughed. Then he promptly ran away to exit the balcony.
"Sir?" I panicked as I heard his cough nonstop. I followed through gaze as to where he was heading as he fished out his phone and dialed someone's number.
I was expecting that he would call me but when I checked my phone, my phone was silent. Who was he calling then? Worried, I followed him. Instead, Sebastian came to the nearest comfort room, he sauntered to the other direction much far away from the comfort room he just passed by.
What happened and he didn't stop there?
I was bewildered.
I watched as he went to the farthest comfort room and entered there. I am still hearing his cough while he was there. I suddenly got worried as to what happened to him.
I knocked on the men's comfort room. "Sir Sebastian, are you alright?" I knocked again when I heard silence. I want to open the door. I want to see how my boss is doing.
It was the first time that I saw him coughing like that. Was that his first time or what?
"Sebastian..." I knocked again when I heard nothing. "I am coming in whether I see a man there peeing or not!" I said bravely as I inhaled and exhaled, gathering some courage. "FBI, open up!" I said loudly, copying the meme video I heard before.
I was about to open the men's comfort room door when Sebastian opened it and stormed out. I stepped back when I came to meet his cold and fathomless expression. His hair was a little disheveled and his ties were in a messy condition.
"A-Are you alright?" I couldn't help but ask while checking his face to see if his lips had gone white but his lips were still as rosy as a plum rose. How unfair...
"Yeah..." He fixed his ties and even his hair. "Let's head back now."
I furrowed my eyebrows as he was in a formal tone. Before he could step away from me, I halted him and made him face me.
"What?" he asked in an emotionless manner. He sounded irritated as well.
I scrutinized his face. "You seemed a little different than earlier..." I pointed out.
"What do you mean?"
I checked every inch of his face, especially his ocean blue eyes. I don't know why but my heart stopped seeing how beautiful his eyes were. It was so beautiful I could stare at them forever.
I released my hold from him and averted my gaze. "N-Nothing..." Must be my imagination perhaps? I just felt like the eerie aura was emitting from him. After a very long time, I hadn't managed to see that aura again.
"Let's go." He motioned his head.
"Wait a moment." I stopped right in front of him and tiptoed to fix the strands of his hair. I was so close to my boss I could smell the cologne I chose for him a long time ago. He really smelled so good and the smell made him feel intoxicated. "You should have checked your hair in the mirror." Then I fixed his ties that he didn't even manage to fix properly. "And this one, too..." I sighed in exasperation.
My hands felt Sebastian's toned body as I untied his tie to tie them again. I heaved a breath, feeling a little awkward with the way Sebastian looked at me intently. His breath was fanning against my face, smelling its minty.
"How did you know about tying a necktie?" he asked in his almost husky tone. I felt his chest vibrating when he spoke.
"Well... I used to tie my father's back in my high school days. My mother usually did it for him but when she passed away, Dad just used some detachable tie." I shrugged, smiling a little upon remembering one of the cherished memories with my father. "That's why I need to learn and help him out..." I pursed my lips into a thin line, missing my dad a little. "All done!" I grinned sheepishly and mindlessly tapped his shoulders that made my eyes widened when I came to meet his eyes. I withdrew my hands when I realized what I did. "S-Sorry... I mindlessly did that... I always do that to my Dad and..."
"I want you to tie me the necktie again."
"Huh?" What the hell? What?
Sebastian curled his lips into a smirk. "You heard me, Cejay."
"But..." I stopped when he summoned his hand to halt me.
He dished out his phone when it vibrated. He sighed when he read something there. I could have wished I could read what's on his phone. I am too curious.
"Let's go." He ushered me by going behind me and holding my elbows, guiding me to leave the place right now. I felt a jolt of electricity flowing in my skin as our bare skin touched.
"What's the matter?" I asked, turning my head at him.
"Nothing." Sebastian shook his head.
Confused, I let him guide me as we returned to the auction party. I took us a flute of champagne but Sebastian didn't stay there as he went outside, to the balcony. I followed him as he was leaning to the railings. He was drinking quietly.
I approached him and leaned my back to the railings. "You've been acting crazy tonight, Sir Sebastian," I stated. I focused my eyes on the rim of the flute glass.
"Huh." He scoffed sarcastically. "I can't just let Oliver dare hit my personal assistant." He drank all the rest of the champagne before he stole the one from me.
"Hey!" I scowled.
Sebastian just grinned and gulped down my champagne. Before he settled the emptied glass on top of the railings as I heard him sighing in exasperation. His eyes were focused in nowhere like he was thinking something deeply.
I was worried about the way he was acting tonight. It felt like something had gone wrong the moment he was out of the comfort room earlier.
"Are you... alright?" I asked as I settled next to him.
"Yeah..." His hoarse baritone voice sent tingles down my spine. "I am just feeling down tonight."
Creasing my forehead, I looked at him. He was feeling down? I had never encountered those words from him ever since I was working at him for a year already. I castigated myself. Don't be insensitive, Cejay. Sebastian rarely opened up to you like this. Don't be a fucktard to him!
"Do you want a hug?" I offered.
Sebastian looked at me, surprised. "What did you say?"
I pursed my lips into a thin line upon realizing something. Must I offer him a hug? Why did I offer him in the first place?
"You're feeling down so I thought you might need a hug," I answered defensively, feeling my cheeks heat up.
Sebastian chuckled and shook his head. "No need." But I could tell that he was lying. His eyes were telling otherwise.
I felt bad for whatever he was going through right now. "Come now." I opened my arms, still leaning in the railings. "It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I get to allow a man to hug me," I said in my sheepish grin. But I turned serious afterward. "Seriously, Sebastian. I'm here to offer you a hug. It seems you are dealing with something serious." I beckoned my hands. "I just want to help to ease your feeling."
"Really?" His ocean blue eyes looked hopeful. "You don't mind?"
I smiled and nodded. "Yes." I found him cute with those hopeful eyes so how could I say no to my boss? "Come," I spread more of my arms, inviting him to hug me.
"Don't mind if I do."
I immediately held my breath when he encircled his arms to my waist and placed his chin to my shoulder, hugging me so tight. I wasn't able to react quickly to his sudden movement. It felt like he had been waiting for a go signal from me to hug my frail body.
It took me a minute before I enveloped my hands around him. I shivered when I heard his sigh. Then his hug tightened. I am worried about the way he was acting tonight. Did something happen at their home? Or is he just feeling down because no one understands him?
I gently tapped his back, silently sniffing him. His smell was intoxicating my whole being. I have this feeling like I wanted to be this close to him for some reason. His warm body over mine was giving me shivers down my spine.
"You look more beautiful tonight, Cejay."
I stiffened when he whispered to my ear. What made me stiffen more as his lips lightly brushed my earlobe and his breath was fanning it. I bit my lower lip, castigating myself. Why do I feel like I want to moan for some reason?
"T-Thanks, Sir S-Sebastian." I'm glad that I found my voice. His compliment made my heart run wild. "Y-You're handsome in your suit as well," I complimented him back.
"I already know that."
I frowned at that comment. "You're not fun to talk to." He could have said that to you, right? This stupid man was so full of himself. I want to scratch his face. But on second thought, I'll just let him for tonight.
"I am fun to talk to," he stated. "If I were known, you would be looking for my presence." I caught my breath when his lips grazed to my ear.
I ignored the sensation that was starting to crawl in my whole body. "Asshole," I whispered. That word came out of nowhere and it was too late for me to revoke that when he chuckled slowly.
"After such a long time, I finally got a hug from you. At last..."
I blinked. What did he just say? Finally, get a hug from me? Does he want a hug from me before?
"What is that supposed to mean?"
I leaned my forehead to his chest, feeling his heart beating so fast. I wonder if Sebastian could feel the vibration of my heart reacting rapidly.
I stiffened in my ground when I felt his lips in the crook of my shoulder. Then my jaw dropped when it trailed up to the crook of my neck. Tingles of fire fueled my whole body with his action. I don't know why I felt that way.
"Sir...?" I tried to turn my head at him but he won't let me. He held my head with his hand by placing it on top of my head.
"My possession..." he murmured.
"What?" I asked. It was so inaudible that I didn't manage to hear it properly even though his mouth was closed to my ear.
"You'll know it soon..." he whispered, which just confused me.
