Stay In My House
POV: Serena
I kept replaying the incident in my head, trying to recall when and how I’d implicated myself without my knowledge. I’d caught her s couple of times, and our conversation is always on the same page always. It’s starts with me being shocked at her actions and ends with her offering me a spot on her team.
The last time I’d seen her stealing the designs, I had tried to stop her, didn’t I?
...Flashback...
"Oh my God! Mrs. Wilson, what are you doing here and with the Jewel's designs?" I questioned, my hand covering my mouth as I watched Mrs. Wilson, sneakily trying to steal them.
She shook, her phone dropping from her hand to the floor, causing a loud noise as beads of sweats gathered on her forehead. Her eyeballs widened as she looked here and there briskly, to make sure no one was in sight.
"Damn! You scared me. Be more careful next time, you don't want to be responsible for my next panic attack, do you?" Mrs. Wilson tried changing the subject but I wasn't allowing her.
Rather;
I folded my hands behind my back, as I looked at her wearily.
"You have still not answered my questions, ma'am." I reminded her just in case she forgot or she thought I forgot.
I watched as she bent to pick up her phone, clenching it tightly in her hand.
"It's nothing dear. Pretend you saw nothing." Mrs. Wilson said to me with a fake smile, before trying to walk past me but I hurriedly blocked her path.
"I can't pretend I saw nothing when it's my job to look after those designs so I will ask again, what are you doing with them?"
The smile wiped off her face instantly as she glared at me, scoffing in the process.
"Well, then since you want to know. Knock yourself out because I was stealing them." She admitted and it was my turn to gasp, my face heating up. I did know what she was doing but I never expected her to just admit to it like that.
'Her audacity.' I thought, feeling irritated and trying not to show it on my face but failed.
"I can't believe you are telling me this calmly." I told her and she just laughed, like I said something funny.
"Oh sweetie! That's the world for you." She giggled and I frowned at her.
"But why?". She stopped laughing and narrowed her brows at me.
"Why I told the truth or why I am stealing them?" She inquired and I winced at her word " steal." Her nonchalant way of putting it too was so uncomfortable and sent goosebumps through my skin.
"Why you are taking them? I do hope you know this can and will get you into serious trouble." I explained but she just rolled her eyes.
"Not if someone doesn't tell them and no one has an idea of it." She said and I snorted.
"But they will find out at the end. One way or the another." I reminded her in case she had forgotten.
"Okay. Why don't we do it this way? Why don't we work together and all is solved?" She suggested.
"Work together?" I repeated her words, hoping within it wasn't what I was thinking she was replying to.
"Why don't we team up, sell these and split the profits?" She clarified and I parted my lips in surprise.
"I wasn't really hoping you wouldn't say this." I told her and she scowled.
"Well, what do you want? That's only what I can offer and don't forget you owe me." Mrs. Wilson screamed at me, her eyes blazing with intense fiercity.
"Nothing. I am not teaming up with you and neither do I want anything to do with this."
"Oh! Little mother Mary is here. Suit yourself." Mrs. Wilson told me, before brushing me to the side roughly with her shoulders, proceeding to leave when I stopped her. I grabbed her by her wrists, turning her to face me gently but she snatched her hand from me angrily.
"Don't touch me whore!" She caused and my cheeks burned.
"Don't you call me that." I warned, trying not to get angry and over-react.
"And what if I do? Aren't you going to report me anyways?" She questioned and I let out a weary sigh, face-plaming myself. I dropped my hands in time to see her wrinkling her nose at me in disgust.
"Simon would be so disappointed and so am I for helping an ungrateful brat like you." She spat.
"That's enough. I will not report you and it's mostly because of Simon who is my friend, that I wouldn't do that." I said to her but she just snorted.
"Please spare me such crap."
"I am serious. And also because you helped me get this job but don't you try this again, Mrs.wilson. think of what would happen to Simon if you are caught." I told her and her expression softened immediately.
All the anger disappearing from her eyes as she seemed like she was thinking my words carefully. Certain that my words had sank in her, I grabbed the designs and my bag, then left all alone, feeling a sense of satisfaction going through me.
I guess that moment then was the greatest mistake of my life. If I had known this would be the repercussion, I would have done the right thing but I didn't and now, I was suffering for a crime I didn't commit.
'I should have known she would tried to rope me in too.' I thought, feeling my heart hurt as it felt like someone had pierced me with a knife. She had threatened to implicated me if I don’t join her. And now she has done it. What hurts even more is that no one believes me, not even Felix.
FELIX.
I watched as my little kitten stood right there stunned, and folding with her fingers. She really thought she could run and escape me?
Well, she was mistaken. I was going to do whatever it would take to have her by my side again and I was already a step closer.
Watching chole bark and throw words at her wasn't really pleasing to watch. I clenched my hands into fists, trying to stop myself from barging over to the fool, grab her hair in my hands and then slap her senseless.
I mean that was my woman she was talking to but at the same time, this was necessary for my plans to work fully. Selina had to be mine completely again.
I knew Mrs. Wilson was stealing jewelry designs from the company but I never expected that it would so useful to me in such a way.
All I had to do was to convince her to testify against Salina and get the plugs off her neck. She agreed without hesitation and I kinda felt bad for my sweetheart.
She was so kind and only always saw the good in people, putting herself at risk for them forgetting they would never do the same. They would all gladly sell her out to save their heads.
"I am sorry but you are fired. The evidences here are too much against you." Chloe told Selina and a smirk found it's way to myself.
Selina’s eyes dropped to the floor as she slumped her shoulders in defeat. When she raised up her head, I thought I saw her eyes misty with tears.
"Please, I really need this, otherwise I would have nowhere to stay." Seline pleaded and I grinned.
Exactly my plan. She gets kicked out of both her company and home, leaving her with nowhere to go and with no choice but to move in back with me where she belonged.
"Still a no." Chloe dismissed her rudely, picking up a call amidst Selina’s words. Selina went out afterwards and I trailed behind her.
"What do you want?" She turned to snap at me, glaring daggers at me. I just chuckled.
"Easy there, tiger. Just wanted to say, if you have nowhere to go. My place is always open." I replied and she huffed.
“Why didn’t you speak up for me, Felix?
Do you believe that I did it?” she asked me, her eyes filled with tears. I felt bad to see her this way, it hurts when you’ve lost everything and everyone that you love. This job was everything to her, and she just lost it.
“Of course, I believe you, Lina. And that’s why I suggested that they fire you. That way they can see that you are not the thief when the real villain strikes again and steals our designs. Don’t forget the exhibition coming up next week. I’m sure the thief would steal again, and they won’t implicate you again.” I told her, making so much sense.
“Its my company, Selina. I could easily turn a blind eye to this and tell everyone to let it go and sweep it under the carpet. But I couldn’t do that because I love you, and I want your name cleared of all allegations. That’s why I’m conducting this investigation. They know you are innocent and naive, and that’s why they chose to implicate you. But with you out of the way, I can find the real thief and deal with them.” I told her, pulling her into my arms and kissing her forehead.
“i knew you would not hurt me this way Felix, I knew you were just looking out for me.” She told me excitedly, smiling sadly.
“But I’m out of job, Felix. And I have to vacate the company’s apartment. How do I pay my bills, where the fuck will I stay?” she asked me, asking the very question that I have been waiting for.
“With me, my pet. You can stay in my house until this issue is sorted out. I’ll make sure you have everything you need. And after the investigation, when the real thief is caught, you will get back your job with a higher pay and some compensation,” I told her.
