What I Wanted
WHAT I WANTED.
Seline.
The shining, blind light coming from the window woke me up so I groaned, stretching as I looked around to find myself in an unfamiliar room.
My eyes widened and I immediately got up from the bed in panic, glancing around briskly as I wondered where I was. I was about to scream in fright when I remembered and then fell back to the bed with a loud thud.
I facepalm myself, letting out a sigh on how forgetful I was. Come to think of it, in the space of a week, so much had already happened. First a break-in, then accusations at work before getting fired.
And now, I was crashing at his place. At Felix's place. The one guy I was warned against, because he might be using me.
"Damn! Could this life get any more interesting?" I muttered under my breath, preparing to get up when I heard a knock on my door.
I stiffened, despite knowing who it was already. We were just two in the house. I walked towards the door, then opened it only to see a middle-aged, lady standing at the door, glancing at me from head to toe, with curiosity in her eyes.
"And who might you be?" I inquired politely to which she smiled.
"Mrs Keller, the housekeeper. Mr. Felix requested you meet him downstairs for breakfast." She replied and I gasped.
"Nice meeting you and thank you." I appreciated to which she nodded to before leaving. I closed the door after her, then exhaled.
I went downstairs after freshening up to have breakfast which went pleasant before Felix showed me to the library and computer room where I could busy myself till I found something else to do.
Come to think of it, yesterday night, I applied to another company through a colleague I used to know back in school. Hopefully I would get accepted and I could get out of Felix's hair.
I felt bad, knowing I saw the worst in him and now he was the only one willing to help in my predicament.
I was still on the computer, trying to find out more about designs when;
"Seems you are having fun." Felix chipped in. I turned to reply when I felt him bend behind me to peek at what I was doing, his head next to mine as he breathed heavily on my shoulders.
My heart started to race as I tried to keep my breathing in order, goosebumps covering my entire body.
"This seems great. Any plans on how to make it?" He asked as he suddenly left my side to sit opposite me. I was so grateful for that.
"Not really. Just hoping my application pulls through." I told him and he stopped biting into the burger I had no idea he was holding onto earlier.
"Application?" He repeated, handing me a bag, which I opened to see the burger and fries. My stomach grumbled, reminding me that I hadn't eaten anything since morning.
I turned to glance at the clock on the wall and almost jumped out of my seat in horror.
"It's 4:30pm." I cried out and Felix chuckled, noticing my shock.
"You must have really been absorbed into what you were doing that you didn't notice time had flown by so fast." He commented and I just shook my head sideways.
I ate into my burger as we started to discuss. He made me laugh and I had no idea of when he moved so close to me, that our knees were touching.
"So that was it." He ended and I cracked, holding my stomach which was already hurting from too much laughter.
"You don't mean it." I refuted and it was his turn to grin.
"I am actually serious. Bested him when he least expected." He said.
"Not that. The one where you used to be a nerd while growing up." I reminded him and he immediately looked away, his cheeks actually turning red.
"Are you blushing?" I choked on my bottle or water as I watched him scratch the back of his neck. He was so adorable.
"You know this reminds me of our first two date together. The way you were so free with me before you suddenly changed and distanced yourself." He pointed out and the atmosphere immediately heat up.
Saliva gathered in my mouth and I gulped them down immediately, suddenly not having the courage to look into his eyes again.
"Why though? You never really told me what I did wrong. Thought we had a chemistry."
"I am sorry. I just couldn't really mingle well with someone I just met." I lied, not wanting to tell him the real truth.
I watched his eyes drop with disappointment and for some reasons, my heart pang with hurt. Before I could stop myself, I dropped my water on the table then reached over to place my hand on his.
"I am sorry." I apologized, knowing I had hurt him, after everything he had just done to prove he cared and was genuine.
Since I had been here, he had never tried to take advantage of me or do that would make me uncomfortable. Rather, he gave my space and privacy.
'How could I have ever believed such horrible rumors about him?' I thought, feeling disgusted with myself.
I felt something warm grab my hand and noticed it was him. He trailed the inside of my palm with his finger, licking his lower, pink lips.
My breathing became heavy especially when he moved so close that our noses were touching, our lips only a inch from one another.
"Show me how sorry you are." He whispered and I kissed him, shutting my eyes closed.
He let out a groan, grabbing the back of my head and returning the kiss back with a little force. He grabbed the back of my head, stroking my hair with his finger while I licked his bottom lips.
Our lips rhythmed together, my hands wrapped around his neck when I realized what we were doing and broke from the kiss, looking away.
He pulled back, resting his back on the chair, breathing heavily. I got up to leave when he stopped me, his hand on my wrist.
"Do you mind following me out? I wanna show you something." He said and I arched my eyeballs at him in confusion.
"What is that?" I asked and he smirked.
"You know when we get there. It is kind of a surprise." He explained, making me feel all the more reluctant to go with him.
My stomach was dropping, filled with this certain uneasiness and anticipation, a knot tying at my heart strings.
"Shall we? Please." He pleaded, probably noticing my expression and how hesitant I was.
"Fine. I will go get dressed. Simple or...." I drawled.
"Let's say both. Dress as you would for a third date." He told me with a wink, before getting up to peck me on the left cheek, before leaving me all alone in the room, stunned.
I took my hand to my cheek, the another to my lips, remembering how soft and plush his mouth felt on mine. The way he licked and caressed them like treasures while playing with my hair.
Before I knew it, a smile struggled to break out on my face and I hummed happily, walking to my room in anticipation of this surprise.
'Perhaps tonight would be great. I should just relax and stop overthinking it.' I thought, as I went through my clothes looking for the perfect dress to put on.
After minutes of standing, pondering and comparing, I finally settled on a not, too short red gown which stopped blow my knees. It had a fashion belt to grace it.
I slipped on a black slittoes heels to match, did a light make up of just powder and lip gloss, put on ruby necklace and earrings. After being satisfied with how I looked in the mirror, I walked out of the room gracefully to meet him already waiting for me.
My breath got caught in my throat as I admired how breath-taking he looked in tux and styled hair. His eyes glimmered with happiness when he saw me.
He stretched out his hand for me to take and I did, pleased we were going out this evening.
"So where are we going?" I asked him for the fourth time to which he just shook his head as if not believing how impatient I was.
"You can open your eyes now." He said as he guided into where I don't know. I immediately flicked my eyelids open and my jaw dropped at what I was seeing Infront of me.
"Oh Felix!" I whispered, feeling tears rush to the brim of my eyes as I turned around to hug him tightly.
He chuckled, wrapping his hand around me too. I couldn't believe he did this for me, but how did he know this was what I wanted?
