Adjusting is Tough

Netra:
I have shifted to Jeevith's house. Jeevith is so happy with my decision. His brother's wife, the elder daughter in law of the house, told me the rules of the house and how a daughter in law should behave. I didn't say anything as I don't like anything that's happening. In the kitchen, I prepared tea for Jeevith and me, listening to his bhabhi's traditions lecture.
For a week, I became utterly silent. Jeevith tried to speak, and I just nodded to his words without extending the conversation. I lost my speed and interest. To be frank, I lost myself. I tried to call Akshay, but he ignored my calls. Many times I felt to cry, but I have controlled my tears as I don't want to lose in the game played by the fate once again with me. However, it's tough to stay here with the people I hate.
Smiling, being polite to Jeevith's brother and bhabhi and allowing their bullshit drama became a headache to me. I wanted to shout and yell at them to stop their action. Their extreme love and respect for me is something unbearable because I know they value my money but not me.
I sat on the bed and leaned backwards the bedpost, closing my eyes.
"Netra!" Jeevith called me, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I looked at him.
"Are you fine?" Jeevith asked me.
I nodded as usual.
"May I know why are you not going to your company?"
"I will hand over the business to you," I said.
I don't want to do anything. That's the business built together by Akshay and me. I lost interest in it too. Akshay avoiding me is something that I can't take it at all.
Jeevith sat beside me and took me closer to him. I closed my eyes as I remembered side hugging Akshay on the last meeting with him. I pushed Jeevith aside and got away from him. Jeevith held my hands and kissed my fingers.
"Bhabhi said today's it's the good day to start our married life. Officially, they fixed our first night tonight," Jeevith said.
"What?" I asked, with a shock visible in my eyes and words.
"Yes! From today you are all mine," Jeevith said.
I shook my head in no, as I am not ready for it.
"Jeevith, I need time," I said.
"I can't say no to bhabhi's decision. So, stop arguing and get ready for the night," Jeevith said seriously.
I closed my eyes to control the tears.
Akshay, is Jeevith the one you chose for me? Do you think that I will be happy with this kind of person? He never values me or my feelings. I am losing my confidence, courage and Netra in me because of him. This is not right, Akshay. He is not right for me.
You made me strong and courageous. You made me a unique girl. But now I am again falling back because of Jeevith. This is not how I imagined my life to be. Having no say to anything in the family and married life is hell to a girl.
I opened my eyes and Jeevith already left from there. I messaged to Akshay asking him to call me immediately as it's urgent. Within a few seconds, Akshay called me.
"Ak... Akshay!" I said.
"Tell me, Netra. I am in a meeting. Make it fast. I don't have much time," Akshay said.
Tears rolled down from my eyes. Doesn't he have time for me?
"Today is my first night," I said.
"I wish you will be happy with your husband and children," Akshay said.
"I can't become a mother," I said.
"You can opt for the treatment. I have searched about it before asking you to go to Jeevith. You can give birth to a child after the treatment. So, no need to worry," Akshay said.
"I can't accept this first night. I can't get close to Jeevith," I said, crying out.
"He is your husband. One or the other day, you need to do it. If you are not ready now, take time," Akshay said.
"I asked Jeevith to give me the time, but he didn't agree. He respects his bhabhi's decision," I said.
"Most of the men won't agree on this, Netra. I can't advise you anything on this because Jeevith has right on you. But, it's not acceptable to use his right without your consent. Try to explain him," Akshay said.
"What if he doesn't agree? Do you want me to be forced by him tonight? Then what's the difference between Jeevith and those idiots who forced me every day when I was in that whorehouse? This is not right, Akshay. He is not right for me," I said.
"If he tries to force you, just slap him and get out from there. If it's not possible, give me a missed call. I will bring you out from there. But, as far as I know, Jeevith will never force you because he loves you. Let's see. I am sure that my decision for you will never go wrong," Akshay said.
I agreed and disconnected the call. In the night, I went to the room in the bridal attire. Jeevith looked at me, and I felt to slap him as I couldn't bear all this.
"Sit here," Jeevith said. I sat beside Jeevith. He held my hand.
"Netra, relax. I will not do anything. Do you think that I will force you? In the evening, I noticed my brother eavesdropping our conversation. That's why I talked like that. Don't worry. No one will know how we are in our bedroom. I will never touch you unless you accept me," Jeevith said.
Jeevith cupped my face.
"You are very precious to me. I am never going to miss you or harm you. Just relax and never lose your charm.
I don't like this calm and silent Netra. It's so boring without your taunting and touches of sarcasm," Jeevith said, laughing at me.
"What?" I asked, looking seriously at Jeevith.
"Yes, sweetheart. I want that courageous, charming, rude, daring and dashing Netra back. The one who tolerates no bullshit and that girl who fights with me always," Jeevith said.
"From tomorrow, go to your company. Follow your dreams. In the home, whatever bhabhi says just nod but do whatever you want. You are the daughter in law of this house and have equal rights. So, be as you are and don't let anyone hurt you," Jeevith said.
"And remember that whatever I am with you and will be with you forever," Jeevith said, kissing on my forehead.
"Thank you!" I said.
"Netra, just follow your heart. Take any decision you want, but I just want you to be happy. Be happy. That's it. I don't even mind if you choose to leave me until you are happy. However, somewhere in my heart, I want you to be with me," Jeevith said.
"I just need time," I said.
"That's okay but don't be dull and silent until then. Netra is known for her courage," Jeevith said, remembering me to me.
