Stick to your principles

Netra:

I woke up in the morning and started my work but Akshay's words didn't go out of my mind. I remembered how Akshay won the hearts of the people with his sincerity and honesty. As he told, he never used his power or the influence for his benefits. He stuck to his principles until today.

Many people wrongly assume that character means having no affairs. But the true meaning of the character is so deep which can be understood only by a very few. Character includes honesty, sincerity, keeping up the promise, loyalty, respect towards elders(of course it doesn't mean nodding for whatever they say though they are wrong), love towards children, kindness, humanity, frankness, fighting against wrong, taking responsibility for everything we do and we say etc. To keep it simple, we can say everything that effects our way of living frames our character.

Akshay has character that inspires everyone. I felt guilty for forgetting my principles and focusing too much on profit and success. Of course, Akshay too focuses on his success but he never follow wrong ways to succeed in his career. His attitude created terror in the hearts of other politicians and they hardly dare to cheat on him or trouble him. Akshay loves to be a leader than a politician. And now he is a leader who inspired many youngsters to enter into politics. I feel proud of my husband Akshay. He is something different and hard to understand but I admire him for what he is as a people's representative (Minister).

While I was in my thoughts, I felt Akshay hugging me and kissing me on my cheek.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Akshay said imprisoning me in his lovely hug.

"Good morning, Akki," I said without thinking and then regretted calling him as Akki as it hurts him. I thought he will break the hug and will scold me. But Akshay didn't break the hug and behaved so normally.

I felt Akshay kissing my back and touching my hands with his finger tips, sending a sensation of desire into me. I enjoyed what he is doing while continuing my work.

"Akshay, I have something important to talk to you."

We both broke the hug hearing the voice of Sadhana. What was she doing here when a couple were enjoying their private time? Doesn't she have any manners? I thought to myself but kept quiet, not to spoil the mood of Akshay early in the morning.

"Good morning, Sadhana. Sure, let's talk," Akshay said and they both went into the garden. I don't know what's there to talk that secretly.

After one hour, they returned from the garden. We had the breakfast and came to the room. Serena called me.

"Good morning, madam," Serena said.

"Good morning, Serena," I said.

"Madam, I am sending the file to the Finance Minister today as we discussed yesterday. You need to talk to the Minister to get it signed by today's evening," Serena said talking about another project file which requires the sign of a Finance Minister.

"Serena, let's follow the procedure. Submit the file and take the appointment of the Minister. I am not going to use my money or influence for my works to be done faster. Our values are more important than the earning the profits. I decided to stick to my principles," I said remembering the past Netra.

"But madam, if we do so, our company projects will be delayed and we may miss many contracts and clients," Serena said.

"Money is not everything, Serena. If we don't have inner peace and are unable to answer to our conscience, success or money can never make us happy. If my principles leads me to loss, I accept it heartfully. But, I am sure that my faithfulness will be blessed with tremendous success as I will be more confident from now. Honesty increases our confidence and empowers us to kick off any stone on our way."

"Madam, I am very happy to work for you. I will do as you said," Serena said.

After disconnecting the call, I thought for a while and wondered to know how much I got changed and obsessed with success. I have committed several mistakes to establish myself and prove that I am the top business tycoon in the country. I lost me long back and until Akshay pointed out my mistake, I didn't even realise that I did wrong. I decided to stick to my principles from now, whatever comes on my way. I am sure it's not that easy to succeed in this business world by keeping up our values.

I went to the office and analysed the way everything is going on. I issued the notice to the staff to make a few changes. I felt so peaceful today after doing all this.

Living a life in anyway is not the real way to live. Living a life that satisfies us and gives us peace is important. The best thing one can ever do for their parents is to make them proud of their children's deeds. Though my mom is uneducated, still she taught me many things about life. I recalled those few moments where I spent with my mom in my childhood.

"Mom, definitely I will make you proud of me. I promise you and I love you," I said seeing the photo of my mom which I have preserved from a long time in my wallet.

When I went home, I found Akshay playing with our kids. Sadhana came with tea and milk to them.

"Hi, Netra. Get fresh up and come. I will bring tea for you," Sadhana said.

"It's okay, Sadhana. I don't feel comfortable when you do these works here. You are our guest and we should not make you work this way," I said as I really don't like her doing the works. Whatever it is, she is our guest and I should be the one who should take care of her. Instead Sadhana is taking care of my kids in my absence. If I keep my insecurity aside, I can definitely say that Sadhana is a good person.

"Netra, don't treat me as a guest. This is our family," Sadhana said looking at Akshay.

"Yes, you are right, Sadhana. This is your house and family. Though I don't like you to do these works, still I can't deny the fact that you have the right to do it as it's your family too," Akshay said shocking me.

How can he say that this is her family? He is my husband and they are my kids. Sadhana has absolutely no role here. However, I didn't say anything as I don't want to hurt Sadhana or fight with Akshay infront of Sadhana and kids. I smiled and excused myself to get fresh up. I went to my room and left the control over my tears. I decided to question Akshay seriously about Sadhana. I must know who she is and why she is so special to him than his wife.
