A Break
Netra:
In the morning, I woke up and found me in Jeevith's arms. I slept keeping my head on his chest, and he hugged me as if I am too precious. I tried to get out of his grip, but I couldn't. I woke him up.
"Jeevith, leave me. I will get fresh up," I said, and he left me.
I got fresh up and prepared coffee for both of us. I gave coffee to Jeevith.
"What shall I prepare for breakfast?" I asked Jeevith as today is my turn to cook.
"I will do it," Jeevith said.
"I should cook today. Yesterday you did it already," I said.
"Yes, but I guess you need a rest today," Jeevith said.
I looked at him.
"I can understand the pain a woman face every month and I know you will have more pain due to all those things you have faced," Jeevith said.
"Thank you," I said.
I went to the hall, and Jeevith brought breakfast after some time. He sat beside me and fed me cuddling me. After breakfast, Jeevith asked me to rest for a while. I went to my room and slept unknowingly.
"Hey baby, get up and have the lunch," Jeevith said.
I got up and had the food.
"Didn't you go to the office?"
"No, because I felt my wife needs me," Jeevith said, making me smile.
I hid my smile.
"No, I don't want anyone. I can manage," I said and got up from the bed.
Jeevith held my wrist and pulled me back to him. I fell on him. He made me sit on his lap and hugged me to him. I closed my eyes, and he kissed my cheek.
"I don't know whether you need me or not, but I need you forever. You are my love forever," Jeevith said.
"Do you think I have an affair with my former PA and Akshay?" I asked him.
Jeevith turned me towards him. He cupped my face and kissed on my forehead.
"I trust you, sweetheart. I know you love Akshay, but you respect this marriage. I know you don't have any affairs. But I must win your heart," Jeevith said.
"Yes, I respect this marriage," I said.
"And I will never make you regret it," Jeevith said.
Time slipped off very quickly, making me comfortable with Jeevith. But, still, my heart doesn't accept him. I started treating him as a friend. Because still, my heart can't go any further. Slowly I came out of my silence and gloomy mood.
Love is vital in life, but I am sure it's not everything in life. There's more than that in life. My business and the Home for which I am living are more important to me. If I become slow a bit, I may lose everything that I have built for years with my hard work and of course, smart work too. I chose to keep me away from unnecessary distress and sorrow. Akshay also became normal focusing on the Parliamentary elections.
I was working on a project, and Serena came to me.
"Madam, are we going to quote for this deal?" Serena asked me.
"I have already said yes, Serena," I said.
"Madam, actually Jeevith sir is trying hard for this project. You already know that the company is in loss and this project is needed for them," Serena said.
"So, how is it related to our company? Are we going to see the list of competing companies and their position before quoting for a deal? It's not our work," I said, and just then Jeevith entered into my cabin.
I looked at Jeevith as I don't understand what's going on. Is he the one who told Serena to ask this to me? I don't even understand why Serena shows a lot of interest in Jeevith. Is it a good sign or a bad sign for my company? Of course, I worry the least about my relationship with Jeevith, but I don't want anything to affect my company. I should be careful with Serena and the company deals.
"Netra, actually today it's the anniversary of my brother. They want us to be there in the party tonight," Jeevith said.
"I have absolutely no interest to attend the party or bear the bull shit of your sister in law," I said frankly.
I noticed the expression of hurt on Jeevith's face. However, accepting or valuing the marriage doesn't mean I will do anything or nod for everything.
"I will be late to home today. I will attend the party. If you want me to drop you at home after the work, let me know," Jeevith said.
"I know the way to our house," I said.
Jeevith left from there. I looked at Serena.
"Ms Serena, I want you to focus on the success of our company than on the position of other companies. Or you are free to resign here and join in the company you are sympathized for," I said.
"I am sorry, madam," Serena said.
"You should be. Now you can go," I said.
I went to our home at 2 am. Jeevith didn't return yet. I went to the kitchen, and there's nothing to eat. I remembered Jeevith preparing the food or bringing it from outside whenever I was late to the house. I went to my room and lay on the bed with tiredness. I didn't even get fresh up.
Suddenly, the message was popped up on my mobile screen.
"Sweetheart, I kept the food in the oven. Just heat it and have it. Get fresh up while the food gets heated. Don't sleep like that. I kept your night tracks on the table in your room. I love you, my workaholic baby."
I don't know how Jeevith can be this sweet and caring. I switched on the oven to heat the food and meanwhile I got fresh up. I had dinner and slept happily.
After some time, I felt someone falling on me. I opened my eyes and shocked to see Jeevith in a drunken state. I pushed him away.
"Jeevith, what are you doing?" I asked.
"What? I am not dooooing anythinggg that shouldn't bee dooneee. I waantttt to loveee my wife. Come on," Jeevith said, holding my wrist.
"Jeevith, leave my hand. Do you understand what are you talking?" I said.
"Yes, I do. I just want my wife," Jeevith said.
"Go to your room and sleep. You are not in your conscious," I said.
"As your husband, I have right over you. Come to the bed," Jeevith said.
"Shut up," I yelled at him.
"You don't love me, right? That's why you do not agree," Jeevith said.
"Okay, I will go," Jeevith said and moved from there.
He turned back and looked at me.
"Will you accept if it's your love, Akshay?" Jeevith said, making me burst into tears.
Jeevith left the room, and the whole night his words occupied my mind making me unable to sleep.
