The Alliance

Netra:

I understood that Akshay wouldn't listen to me. I decided to talk to Sadhana. I don't know how could I bear both of these crazy persons. I went to Sadhana.

"May I come in?" I said and Sadhana looked at me.

"This is your house, Netra. You no need to take my permission."

"Of course, this is our house but still I respect your privacy," I said smiling at her.

"Are you comfortable here?" I said.

"Yes," Sadhana said.

"Akshay told that you have ordered food from outside. If you want to eat anything, let me know. I can cook well from panipuri to biryani," I said.

"No, I don't want to trouble you," Sadhana said.

"Sadhana, you are Akshay's sister. It means my sister in law. It's my responsibility to take care of you," I said.

"I am not your husband's sister anymore," Sadhana said.

I raised her head by holding her chin and looked at her eyes.

"Can you say that from your heart?" I said.

She shook her head in no.

"I didn't do anything wrong," Sadhana said.

"Sadhana, you know about our Akshay. He gets angry so soon. And his ego is something which I hate the most.

Whatever we can't leave him. I know you didn't do wrong but he is hurt because of the things you did. Don't prolong it. Just go and apologise him. After all he is your brother. You love him so much. So, just say a sorry and you will not hurt him anymore. I know Akshay will understand.

I am sorry for giving the call recording to Akshay without thinking much," I said.

"It's ok," Sadhana said.

"What if your husband shouts at me again?" Sadhana said pouting.

"I am the one who created this misunderstanding. So, I will help to sort out the issue too. And I am sorry for hurting you in the past," I said.

"It's ok," Sadhana said.

Sadhana went to Akshay. She knocked on the door.

"Who is that?" Akshay said.

"Sadhana," she said.

"Come in," Akshay said.

Akshay:

Sadhana came to me and I looked at her without speaking. She sat near me and kept her head on my lap.

"I am sorry, brother. After all I am your younger sister. I can't think as deeply as you do. Don't you know that? Can't you understand me? Do you really think I will spoil your reputation intentionally?" Sadhana said and I understood that she's crying.

"Sadhana, get up," I said and she didn't listen to me.

I kissed on her forehead.

"Sadhana, no matter what happened and happens between us, you are always my sister. I love you, little devil," I said and she woke up from my lap.

"I am sorry," Sadhana said holding my hands again.

"It's ok but this should be the last time. If you have any issue with me, fight with me. That's your right. But don't say that to anyone. Your brother is not an ordinary person. Image is very important for him in the society.

If you spoil it by yourself, don't you think it gives a good chance to my enemies to destroy me and my political career?" I said and Sadhana nodded.

"Now stop thinking about all this and focus on your goal."

"Sure. I promise you that from now your sister will never hurt you anytime," Sadhana said.

"I am sorry for being angry with you and not supporting you when Netra slipped her tongue. I will take care of that. Netra will never say anything to you and you too should never talk wrongly about her," I said.

"Done," Sadhana said.

"Did you have your food ordered from outside?" I said.

"Yes but it's not tasty," Sadhana said.

Netra came there with food.

"Take this and make your sister eat," Netra said.

"Have it," I said and Sadhana opened her mouth.

I smiled and fed her. Netra too opened her mouth. I fed her too and they fed me. That night Sadhana stayed in our room for a longtime and we three had a great time together. I understood that Sadhana and Netra patched up and that made me very happy.

After sometime, Netra came to me and I saw Sadhana behind her. But she didn't come into the room.

"What's the matter?" I said, pretending seriousness.

"Sadhana want to say something to you," Netra said and I looked at her.

"No, Netra will say everything," Sadhana said.

"Tell me the matter first," I said.

"Sadhana loves someone," Netra said showing his photo.

"Come here, Sadhana," I said.

"Bhaiya, actually I love him from an year. He is a good person," Sadhana said.

"What if I say no?" I said.

Netra and Sadhana looked at me in shock.

"He is a good person," Sadhana said.

"That's not the answer for my question," I said.

"Akshay, why are you making it complicated? Just enquiry about him. If he is good, we can get her married to him," Netra said.

"I didn't ask your advice in this. Will you please stay calm for a while as I am talking to my sister," I said and Netra became silent.

"If you say no, I will not marry him," Sadhana said crying.

"I have already fixed your wedding with someone I know. I will lose the image if I break the alliance. I thought you are my sister and I fixed your marriage. Now it's upto you to make your decision," I said.

"I will marry the one chosen by you," Sadhana said, surprising me. Sadhana went to her room and Netra stopped talking to me. Later that night I went for water and heard the conversation of Sadhana with her boyfriend.

"No, it will never happen. I will never elope to marry you. Please forgive and forget me," Sadhana said.

"I always wished to get married with my brother's acceptance. Now I can't go against him," Sadhana said.

"What's happening here?" I said and Sadhana looked at me with fear.

Sadhana disconnected the call.

"This is my last call to him. It's over now," Sadhana said.

"In the next week, the bridegroom and his parents will come to see you as a formality and we are going to fix the engagement soon," I said.

"As you wish," Sadhana said.

Next day, I called the bridegroom's parents and asked them to come to see Sadhana. Sadhana didn't talk much about this topic and acted as if nothing happened. But, Netra didn't talk to me as she hated my behavior and decision this time.
