“Mum, are you sure. Don’t you have a lot of work to do,” Andrew said, moving closer to where his mum is.

“I have all weekend doing nothing, I am available and I am going to be here all weekend.”

“Mum.”

“You’re welcome to stay ma, I mean mum,” Krystal said.

Andrew side eyed Krystal. He didn’t know what to say and also, he knew that his mum wasn’t going to bulge.

“Alright mum.”

“I should go to my room now,” his mum said and walked up the stairs towards the guest room.

As she was walking up the stairs, Andrew pulled Krystal to the side.

“You can’t just let her move in like that.”

“She is only staying for the weekend, I don’t see any issues there.”

“You don’t know my mum. She would want to know everything. I mean everything,” Andrew said and Krystal noticed how uncomfortable he was starting to seem. She didn’t want to prove too much into what was happening.

She knew it wasn’t her business and didn’t want to make it hers.

“Alright but don’t stress it too much,” Krystal said, trying to calm him down.

“Also, we will have to stay in the same room at least till mum leaves,” Andrew explained.

“I don’t have a problem with that,” Krystal responded.

“That’s good.”

Andrew went out for his run while Krystal went up to her room to pick up things to move to Andrew’s room.

She also sat and decided on what else to do with Collins. She decided that she was going to start work the next day and she was going to try to gather evidences from the office about work.

Collins fumed as he read the headlines on the newspaper and the tabloids. He wished he could see Andrew and hit him with a hug blow on his face. He was that frustrated.

Apart from the fact that everyone was talking about it, he just didn’t understand how they had played a card on him that he didn’t see coming.

He was always a plan ahead, always knowing what was going to happen soon but that was one thing he didn’t see coming. One thing that surprised him alot.

He needed to start the next phase of his plane as soon as possible and that he knew.

It was time for dinner, Krystal went down from her room to join Andrew and his mum in the dinning table.

She wasn’t sure what to expect but from her earlier interactions with his mum, she knew that she was a cool person. She just hoped she was like that always.

“Hey Krystal,” his mum said as she got to the dinning table. Andrew and his mum were already sitting and the chef was about starting to serve the food.

“Hello, how has your stay been?” She asked.

“Been good so far,” his mum replied. “If only Andrew would let me do this often, I love being here, it’s lonely out there in the big mansion.

“I can’t imagine how it must be for you,” Krystal said, showing empathy.

“I always tell Andrew about him spending time at the house but he never wants to,” his mum added.

“Mum, you know I am always busy,” he said trying to defend himself.

“Alright, I have heard. I can’t wait for your kids to start running around in the house though and coming to visit. It’s too lonely there.”

Krystal and Andrew exchanged glances as she spoke.

“So, tell me how you two met?” His mum asked.

Krystal and Andrew exchanged glances.

“It’s a funny story actually,” Krystal said with a smile.

The chef served the food and they all started to eat.

“Thank you,” Krystal said to the chef.

“I want to hear all of it. We have time for it even if it’s a long one,” she said with an enthusiastic smile.

“So, I was on my way home and Andrew apparently wasn’t watching were he was going and he hit me with the car.”

“I wasn’t driving too fast. You were the one who wasn’t looking,” Andrew said with a smirk.

“Not true,” Krystal replied and Andrew’s mum smiled at their little argument.

“So, he came down from his car, devastated and offered to take me to the hospital. If you ask me, I will say it was love at first sight,” Krystal said and andrews’ mum smiled.

“That’s a nice story,” she said.

“If someone had told me it was possible for Andrew to be in a committed relationship not to talk of Marriage, I wouldn’t believe the person.”

Krystal smiled.

“I am happy for you two and I wish you the best of marriages,” she added.

“Thanks mum,” Andrew said.

“Thank you,” Krystal added.

“What do you do?” She asked Krystal.

“I finished school last year. Majored in business and now I am helping to run the family business,” she explained.

“I believe your dad is Bronx owner of Bronx chocolate.”

“Yes, he is.”

“He and Andrew’s dad used to work together a long time ago before he passed. They used to be close friends too,” she explained.

“Wow, my dad never said a story like that.”

Andrew’s mum forced a smile.

“You should ask him. We even attended school together.”

“The three of you?” Krystal asked, surprised.

“Yes, the three of us. That’s where we all knew one another and that’s why I am glad Andrew chose you to get married to,” she explained and Krystal just smiled.

Krystal wondered why her dad never really mentioned that part of his life.

Andrew’s phone began to ring.

“Excuse me, I will be back,” he said, standing from where he had been sitting.

Andrew’s mum stretched her hands out and held onto Krystal’s hand.

“I must really like you,” she said with a smile.”

“I have never seen him even introduce any girl to me rather than get married to one.”

Krystal smiled, she didn’t know how she was supposed to reply. If only his mum knew what the marriage was for.

“He is amazing,” Krystal said. That was the first thing that came to her head to say.

“I am happy for you two.”

Andrew answered the call and it was from the office. It was his dad’s friend.

“Hello Andrew. The board wants to talk on Monday? Will you be available?” He asked.

“Yes, yes I will be.”

“Also, congratulations on your wedding. Everyone has seen it and the board is excited to talk to you about what’s next,” he explained and Andrew was overjoyed.

He didn’t expect it all to be happening so fast.

“Thank you, thank you so much.”

“It’s all you Andrew. See you Monday.”

They all finished dinner some couple of minutes later after they were all done talking.

“Good night mum,”

“Good night you two. Have a great night.”

“I can sleep on the couch, you can take the bed,” Andrew said after they got into the room.

“Why are you so modest. That’s not what I know about you from what I have heard.”

“You shouldn’t believe everything you hear from people.”

“But your reputation precedes you and yours is everywhere,” Krystal said as Andrew picked some cover from the bed.

“People will always talk regardless. Just know that’s not my truth,” he said.

Andrew made the couch in the room and lay on it.

“So, what’s your truth?” She asked.

“The story isn’t for tonight,” he said and Krystal smiled as she lay in bed.

“Let’s play a game,” Krystal suggested.

“What game?” He asked.

“I figured since we didn’t know so much about one another, why don’t we say 2 things about each other everyday before bed.”

“Is that really necessary?”

“If we need to act as husband and wife, we can’t be oblivious about each other’s lives though.”

“Okay.”

“I will go first then,” Krystal said.

“I am the only child from my parents and my best friend in the world is Trisha.”

“Your turn.”

“I have a sister,”

“Wow, that’s nice.”

“I started working in my dad’s company since I was a teenager.”
