The rays of sun hit Krystal's face and she immediately turned her head to the side away from the ray of sun.
Her head hurt from taking too much alcohol the night before. It had been a while she partied that much or even drank that much.
"Krystal, wake up," Andrew said.
Andrew was already up, he had gone for his run and was even dressed to go to work.
Krystal sat up straight on the bed. Yawning and putting her palm on her head.
Andrew sat on the bed in front of her.
"Sorry, here," he said handing her a drink in a cup.
"This will help," he said and she took it from him. Gulping the content of the cup.
"You really partied yesterday," he said with a laugh.
"No wonder my head hurts this much."
"You will be fine."
"Hope I didn't do anything stupid?
Andrew was about to talk about the kids but before he could say anything, she covered her face in embarrassment with her palm.
"Don't say it!! Don't say it," she said and he laughed.
"Okay, I won't," he agreed.
He stood from the bed
"I should get to work now," Krystal said.
"I don't think you need to, I think you should rest and just call in sick."
"I told the chef to make you something you could eat and also, I will be going to work now but only for some hours."he added.
"Bye, take care," he said, before leaving the room.
After Andrew had gone, she finished the drink she was taking and stood from the bed.
She went in to have a shower and then she wore something comfortable to go downstairs.
She got down and went to the dinning. Breakfast was already served. She went to eat breakfast and after that, the chef came to pack all that was left.
"You should take the rest of the day off," Krystal said to the chef.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"I am," she said with a smile.
She was hoping she would be able to cook since she was bored and needed something to do.
She went to the living room afterwards and decided to watch one of her favorite series, scandal.
She had practically watched it a 100 times but she loved it regardless. Putting it on, she heard her phone beep.
She checked the caller ID and realized that it was her mum.
"Hello mum."
"How are you? You're at the office?"
"I am good mum. I am home. Just needed a bit of rest."
"I haven't heard from you for a while now. You should come by the house sometime, I have missed you."
"I will mum. It's just been a lot of work at the office."
"You and Collins talk?" She asked.
"Sometimes at the office."
Her mum had always liked Collins. Krystal wasn't sure if there would eventually be a time they would like Andrew the way they like Collins.
Maybe unless she tries to prove to them that he isn't who he says he is.
She remembered how ecstatic they had been when she and Collins had told them about their engagement.
“That’s great news!!” Her dad had said. Smiling from ear to ear.
He had always talked about how hardworking Collins was and how great he loved working with him.
“When will the wedding be? I can’t wait to start planning. I am so excited,” her mum had said excitedly and she had just smiled.
Krystal thought she had found the love of her life. She loved Collins so much, she had never felt that way before but to her that was love but after so many thoughts now, she feels it might have just been lust.
Krystal had held Collins’s hands tight and rested her head on his shoulder.
She was the type of girl who had fantasized about her wedding day, her gown, her wedding playlist even before the day. She had so much expectations for marriage also and the first few months had met her expectations but the changes had started after that.
“I love you,” she had said to him when he kissed her on their wedding day.
“Same,” he had replied. He never truly ever said it. She never really thought about it. But he never said the word to her in those 2 years they were married or even while they were dating.
Andrew did a bit of work in the office. He didn’t want to leave Krystal all alone at home. He knew she might be bored or he really just wanted to go back home.
“Is there anymore work or anything that needs my attention?” Andrew asked Fred standing from where he was sitting and picking up his bag.
“You’re leaving already?” He asked.
“Yea, Krystal is home alone. I want to get back early to keep her company,” he explained.
Fred smiled.
“You really care about her, it’s good to see. I haven’t seen you act like this towards someone before,” he said.
“What do you mean,” Andrew chuckled.
“It’s just me keeping her company,” he added in a defensive manner.
Fred patted him on his shoulder.
“She is your wife. You don’t have to be so defensive about it.”
“You can go home. We will handle every other thing,” he added.
“Thank you.”
Andrew picked his bag and left the office. He couldn’t help but think about everything that had been happening since Krystal came into his life.
He was trying so hard to deny how he was feeling towards her. He didn’t understand it. He had never felt this way before.
He concluded that he probably just cared about her because she was a sweet person and had done quiet a number of things for him too.
He got home after some minutes. When he entered the living room he called on Krystal.
“Krystal!! Krystal!!”
He wondered why there was no response. He dropped his back on the chair and walked further inside and then he sighted her in the kitchen.
She was wearing an apron and looked like she was about to start cooking.
He walked towards were she was in the kitchen and as the steps got closer, she turned and saw him coming in her direction.
“You’re back,” she said with a smile.
“Why are you cooking?” He asked confused.
“Where is the chef?” He asked, looking around the kitchen for any sign of him around.
“I told him to take the day off,” Krystal said, turning to look at Andrew who was in disbelief.
She rubbed his arms.
“It’s just cooking, how hard can it be?” She said with a smile.
“Are you sure about this?” He said running his hands through his head.
“I am sure. Took some cooking classes online,” she said.
“Have you even done this before,” he asked.
“Maybe, maybe not,” she said.
She hadn’t actually cooked before. Maybe some toast ones in a while when the chef was ill at home or when she was in university.
“Krystal!!” He said laughing.
“Trust me,” she said.
“Alright! Alright! Do you need any help though? I could do some cutting,” Andrew offered.
“Just go up, freshen up and I will set the table,” she said.
“If you say so,” he said and went up to the room.
Krystal dished the food and served the table several minutes later. Andrew came back down just in time before she finished serving.
“Ready,” Krystal said and sat opposite to Andrew.
He dished his food into his plates and she did the same. They were then ready to eat.
Andrew took a bite from the food and krystal looked at him.
“How is it?” She asked.
He didn’t say anything but his facial expression said it all.
“It isn’t bad. Just a little spice would help,” he said in the sweetest way possible.
Krystal ate a bit of the food
“This is tasteless,” she said and immediately went to spit out the food.
She came back to the table.
“You didn’t have to be so nice,” she said and they both laughed.
“I mean, you tried actually. It’s manageable,” Andrew said and was about to take another spoon when krystal stopped him.
“You really don’t have to eat it,” krystal said.
Andrew playfully muttered “thankGod” and she hit him playfully
“I guess the online classes didn’t pay off after all.”
“Next time would be better,” he said.
“I will order pizza. You must be starving too,” Krystal said.
“I am,” he said.
They both went to sit on the couch in the living room.
“Sorry about dinner,” she said.
“It’s fine,” he said with a smile.
“You tried at least.”
“Growing up, i really didn’t have to do anything myself. Most chores were learnt because I wanted to learn too and that was how I attended to cooking classes.”
“I used to be a spoilt little brat but it changed.”
“What changed it?” He asked.
“I grew. I became more matured and understood what life really was.”
“I was reckless too. Didn’t care what risks I was taking, I just did,” she said and laughed.
“I wish we met when we were younger then. Maybe we might have been friends even,” Andrew said.
“Maybe,” she said with a smile.
“You seemed like you were fun.”
“I am still fun,” she argued.
“True. Last night at the bar was crazy,” he said.
“I used to think you didn’t have a lot of fun. You always seemed uptight and all.”
“An assumption a lot of people who do not know me make about me,” he said and smiled
