“How was your day?” Andrew asked Krystal looking up from his food.

“It was good. How was work?” She asked.

“Work was okay. Starting to get used to being the boss around. It’s fun to do,” he said with a smile.

“Can I do without the bodyguard tomorrow?” Krystal asked raising her eyebrows. “I promise to stay safe and leave work as early as possible,” she said and although he wasn’t sure it was a safe idea to let go of the bodyguard just yet, he wanted to respect her decisions.

“Alright, if that’s what you want,” he said.

“You’re sweet you know,” she said with a smile. “No one apart from my parents has ever cared this much about me,” she added.

“Thank you.”

“You’re my wife now you know, I have to keep you safe,” he said. Krystal wished his answer was different.

She wanted to ask if he was only like that because she was his wife. She wished it was more but she knew she had to stop dreaming.

Andrew wished he didn’t answer like that. He wanted to tell her how her safety was his priority because he wouldn’t know how to live if something ever happened to her.

Krystal’s phone beeped and when she picked it, it was a message from Lucy.

She enthusiastically opened the message.

Lucy: I thought about all what you said and I am in. I want him to pay.

Krystal was excited about the text. She wasn’t sure Lucy was going to be up for it and she didn’t want to force her into doing what she didn’t want to.

Krystal: that’s great news.

“Can we do dinner Friday after work?” Andrew asked. He had made up his mind to tell Krystal how he felt at the dinner. Maybe a different atmosphere was going to help the confession and maybe it wouldn’t be so bad because not saying it was killing him inside.

Krystal’s attention was glued to her phone and she hadn’t been listening to what Andrew was saying. Andrew wondered what it was that was taking all of her attention.

“Krystal!!” He called and she was immediately jolted back.

Krystal had been telling Lucy to meet her up at the mall back tomorrow, so they could discuss the details of what they were going to do.

“You were saying? Sorry, I was a little distracted.”

“I was saying if we could do dinner on Friday after work?” He asked again.

“Sure, why not. Just let me know what time.”

“Alright then.”

Andrew hoped he was going to be able to tell her all that was on his mind on Friday. Andrew had never had difficulty when having to talk to a lady about what he was feeling. He didn’t know why things with Krystal was different.

“So, are we celebrating something?” Krystal asked with a smile, putting her phone to the side on the table.

Andrew smiled. “No, it’s a date. I want to take you out. That’s it.”

“So, where are we going?” She asked, curiously.

“You would have to wait to find out,” he said and she laughed.

“Fine by me.”

Krystal was waiting for Lucy at the food court. She was starting to think she wasn’t going to show up.

It had been about 30 minutes since the time they had said they were going to meet up.

“Hey,” Lucy said, sitting down on the chair opposite Krystal.

“I really thought you weren’t coming anymore,” Krystal said.

“Sorry I am late. I had to wait for my sister to come over and watch Uriel. She had some difficulty leaving home because my parents can’t know where she is going.”

“Ohh, is that sorted now?” Krystal asked. She wondered how life was like for Lucy and it seemed hard.

“Yes.”

“So, what are we going to do and what’s my role in all of this?” Lucy asked.

“It’s the safe, we need a code.”

“What if we don’t need a code? I know some bits about opening a safe. I just need to know the kind of safe it is,” Lucy explained.

“You will need a way to get in the house then,” Krystal said.

“If you can keep him out for sometime. I can find a way to get in and open the safe.”

“I really hope this works. I don’t know how much security he has in the home,” Krystal said

“He sometimes allows me in the house when I go there to tell him Uriel is sick and we need money for the hospital. Those are the only times he listens to me, so I can get in them and look for everything I will need.”

“He asked that we go out to drinks sometime. Maybe I would just have to accept his offer and I would let you know when that is settled so you could prepare,” Krystal explained.

She thought about how dangerous all these could be but she also needed to pin all these to him.

“I hope it all works out and we get the Justice we deserve.”

“How is Uriel by the way?” Krystal asked.

“She is okay.”

“And how are you getting by? Do you do any work?” She asked.

“I work nights to clean some offices. Since no one would be in the office, I get to take Uriel along,” she explained.

“It’s hard but we get by,” she explained.

“Here, I got you some groceries and some stuffs also for Uriel,” Krystal said handing over the bags she kept by her side to Lucy.

“This is too much, I can’t accept this. You don’t have to give me anything. I am only helping you because I know it’s what’s right,” Lucy said.

“I am also only helping because it’s what’s right and you deserve a good life too,” Krystal said with a smile.

“Thank you so much. I really can’t remember the last time we had groceries. Been living from paycheck to paycheck and only buy the important things.”

“I really hope I can do more than this.”

“This is a lot already. Thank you.”
