Krystal got to the office for the first time since the incident. Even though she had refused the offer of bodyguard from Andrew. Andrew had insisted that the driver would take her to everywhere she needed to go.
Krystal got down from the car at the parking lot and her mind immediately flashed back to what had happened on that day. The gun by the side of her face, how scared she had been. How Collins had come to her rescue.
She walked up to the office and as her assistant followed her behind to her office.
“Are you fine now Krystal?” She asked.
“Are you sure you should be at work?” She added.
“What are you talking about?” Krystal asked, curiously.
“The attack the other day?”stacy said.
“How did you know about that?” Krystal asked curiously and figured that was why everyone was staring at her as she walked into the office.
“Everyone knows about it,” she said. “Also, we know how bravely Collins saved you also.” She added.
“He is handsome and so brave too,” she said dreamily.
Krystal was short of words and had no comment on all that Stacy had said.
“Any meetings for me today? Also can you schedule a meeting with the production team this afternoon.”
“What time this afternoon? Your dad wants to see you later this afternoon when he gets to the office,” Stacy explained.
“After his meeting,” she answered.
“Is Collins in his office?” Krystal asked. She remembered that she hadn’t thanked him for the other day he saved her.
“I saw him last at the coffee room,” she answered.
“Thank you. Let me know when my dad arrives,” Krystal said.
Krystal stood from where she was and walked towards the coffee room to see Collins.
She stood by the door as she could hear his voice talking. She wondered what was going on and as she looked closely, she could see people gathered around Collins as he explained all that had occurred the night of the attack.
He explained how greatly he had saved Krystal and how excited people were to listen to him. Especially the girls. They practically melted heading him.
Krystal cleared her throat in an attempt to get noticed and immediately everyone looked at her. They dispersed and left the room.
It was just Collins left.
Krystal walked closer to where he was standing. His hands in his pockets, posing like he was taking a photo for vogue.
Krystal smiled “everyone seems to be enjoying your story,” she said.
“Everyone likes a hero. I know you do too,” he said, moving closer to Krystal, until it was only an inch between them.
He moved the strand of hair dangling in her face to the back of her hair. Krystal wouldn’t lie that she hadn’t been impressed by him on that day. She was.
“I was impressed,” she said.
“I just came to say my thank you,” she said.
“You know you could thank me some other way. Doesn’t have to be just by saying it.”
“What about we go out for drinks sometime just like you said before,” she suggested and he was excited about the idea.
“That’s a great one,” he said.
“Let me know when you’re free,” she said.
Krystal turned to leave the room and walked back to her office. Not long after she sat, Stacy walked in.
“The boss is around.”
“ I thought you said he wouldn’t be hear till the afternoon.”
“Yes, I know. I guess he came earlier.”
Krystal stood and went to her dad.
“Come in,” she walked in and he offered her to sit.
“Dad.”
“Why didn’t you tell me that someone attacked you in the office!!” He said.
“Dad!! I didn’t want you and mum to worry.”
“You should have told me at least. Your mum knows nothing about this but you could have told me!!”
“Your life can’t be in danger and I wouldn’t know about it!”
This was the reason Krystal didn’t want him to know. He looked visually worried but she was glad he didn’t at least tell her mum.
“Dad, I am fine now. I promise.”
“We need to find the guy by any means possible!!”
“Andrew already informed the police and they are working on it. They said no cctv footage and that’s why it is taking them longer.”
“Anytime anything happens to you. I must be the first to know!! Don’t do this again,” her dad said.
“Dad, I understand,” Krystal said with a smile. She was glad that he was always going to be there for her. No matter how much life got, one thing she knew she would always have was the love of family.
“I also heard about how Collins saved you. Always been such a good man. I still won’t understand why…”
“Why I didn’t marry him?! Dad!!” She said
“You would understand soon enough. You know, we should all have dinner together something. It would help you understand how amazing Andrew is too,”
She explained.
She had never understood why her parents loved Collins so much.
“Anything you say love.”
Krystal walked out of the office and was on her way back to her office. When she was about to get to her office, she saw someone was sitting on the seat.
She entered and it was who she thought it was. Trisha.
Trisha stood and pulled her in for a hug.
“I am sorry I couldn’t make it for the other day. I got caught up at work.”
“How are you doing?” Trisha asked, as they separated from the hugs.
“If I had a dollar for everytime someone has asked me that today, I would be a billionaire,” she said and they both laughed.
“I am perfect. I am fine.”
“I brought you cupcakes, your favorite,” Trisha said, handing the cupcakes over to her.
“How is Andrew?” She asked.
“He is fine. He has been the sweetest since all of these happened. It’s like he isn’t the same man who I made a deal with. He is different but good different,” Krystal smiled, thinking about him.
Trisha didn’t know why she asked the question but once she heard her answers, she wished she didn’t.
