Preetam Avoids Roopa

Preetam PoV:

Roopa disconnected the call and turned to me. She smiled seeing me. She behaved as if nothing happened. How could she act so normally?

"When did you return to home, my dear husband?" Roopa asked with a smile.

Roopa took my laptop and files from my hands.

"Just now, baby," I said, holding her by placing my hand on her waist.

Roopa, if you want to act, then be ready to see my drama. You don't know about me completely. I can go to any extent to stop your acting. I behaved sweetly to you because I loved and trusted you. If you try to make me a fool, I know how to answer you perfectly.

Roopa slowly took off my hand from her waist and kept my laptop and files on the table.

"I will make snacks for you. You get fresh up," Roopa said, but I held her wrist and pulled her towards me.

Roopa looked at me smiling. I smiled at her and again held her waist. Moving my fingers slowly to her waist, I captured her lips. I kissed her hard playing with her tongue. I kissed her for a long time teasing her with my hands touching her on the waist and neck romantically. I left her after some time. I saw water drops in her eyes.

"Did I hurt you, baby? I am sorry," I said kissing on her cheek and pretending as if I didn't intend to do so.

"No! I just exhausted as you....... " She stopped, blushing.

Blushing or acting? She is an outstanding actor. Damn it. I will surely keep a check to her action today at any cost. I clenched my fist and gritted

"As I kissed you with my full love, isn't it my dear wife?" I asked, rubbing her cheek with the back of my palm.

She smiled without any response. I knew that she was uncomfortable with my touch.

"I love you, Preetam," Roopa said making me clench my fist.

"I love you, baby. By the way, what are you going to prepare for me as snacks now?"

"What do you want?"

I thought for some time. I decided to trouble Roopa.

"Prepare dumplings and Manchuria for me with your soft hands," I said acting love.

"Do you want to eat both? I mean within two hours, you will have dinner."

"Yeah, but still I want to eat both. I have hungry today," I said.

I knew that for both the items Roopa needs to grate vegetables, which takes time, and she would get tired.

"Ok," Roopa said.

"Sweetheart, one minute. Prepare those for my parents and Vinaya too. They love to eat them," I said.

Roopa observed me for a few minutes. But Roopa didn't question me anything. She went off to start cooking. After one hour, Roopa came with snacks. I gloated at her.

"Now I didn't feel to eat them, sweetheart. Prepare something delicious for dinner like kadu kofta, kadai paneer with rice" I said to perturb her, though I didn't want to eat anything as my mood was awful.

"Preetam, are you angry with me?" Roopa asked directly to me.

"Why did you get that doubt? Did you do anything that makes me angry?" I asked her, without answering her question.

"I will prepare dinner as you asked," Roopa said calmly.

At night, after dinner, Roopa came to our room. Roopa applied pain relief gel to her hands and neck. Roopa was tired today as she did many works from the morning ordered by my mom and me. The thing I wondered was she didn't show her restlessness anywhere and had done everything with a smile. How could she be that patient though she knew that we were trying to hurt her? When she wanted to leave me and had no love for me, still why she didn't utter a word against mom, dad or me and bearing everything?

She lay on the bed. I turned towards her.

"You look ravishing, Roopa," I said, leering at her.

"Thank you!" Roopa said, though she noticed my intense gaze at her.

"I want to own this beauty," I said.

I touched her beautiful long black hairs and smelled them. I closed my eyes as dizziness occupied me with her fragrance. Leaving her no chance to move, I came top of her. I was sure that Roopa would refuse to give herself to me. Even I didn't have any intention of forcing her. I wanted her to spit out the truth that she didn't love me. I held her hands and kissed her neck. She tried to push me away.

"Pree.. Preetam, leave me. What are you doing?" Roopa said hitting my hand with her hand. She pulled her sari from my hand, which I unpinned earlier from her blouse.

"Don't you understand what I am doing? I am trying to make love to my wife," I said, giving her wet kisses around her neck.

"Please, I am not ready for this now. You told you would wait till I accept you," Roopa said while tears rolled down from her eyes.

I would have waited for you throughout my life if you truly loved me. Because for me, love is related to hearts and not the body.

"Yes, but Roopa, I think now you are ready for this. Because I love you and you love me, right? Or by any chance you don't love me?" I said, moving my forefinger from her temple to chin.

"I love you Preetam. But please, let's wait till everything settles, and your parents accept me" Roopa said, keeping her hand between both of us and pushing me away.

"But I think, if we give an heir to them, both your parents and my parents will forgive you. Roopa, I think this settles everything," I said, pinning her hand at the top of her head to the bedpost.

"Please Preetam, I need little time," Roopa screamed moving her hands to get out of my hold.

"But I can't wait anymore," I said and started placing open mouth kisses her face, neck, and hands falling on her.

I did it on purpose. However, I left scope for Roopa to get free from my hold and push me away. I loosened my grip on her hands, which enables her to escape from me. As I predicted, Roopa pulled herself away from me and then slapped me unexpectedly. Her face looked tear-stained, and looks were sharp and dangerous. Roopa breathed deeply and held her forehead with her left hand.

"Shut!" Roopa said.

"I.. I.. Am.. Am. Sor.. Ry.. Pree.. Tam," Roopa said, stammering and gave a pleading look.

My heart melted seeing her tears. I felt a lump in my throat. I thought to hug her, but didn't dare with a feeling of guilt. I avoided meeting with her eyes and turned another side.

"I am sorry, Preetam. I didn't mean to hurt you," Roopa said again hugging me from the back.

I turned towards her and kissed her lips with tears in my eyes. I was an idiot. How could I behave this way with Roopa? I closed my eyes and recalled my past behaviour. It blocked my thoughts and made me numb.

"It's okay!" I said patting her back.

"Why are you behaving like this? I know it's not your true character," Roopa said, cupping my face and gazing into my eyes.

"Do you really love me Roopa?" I asked her openly.

"Yes! Of course! I love you truly," Roopa said, and she sounded genuine.

Roopa's eyes were still looking into my eyes. Her voice and looks created trust in me for her words.

"Then why are you refusing me?" I asked.

"I need little time, Preetam. I know most of the husbands get angry when the wife refuses to give them their right. Even mom suggested me before marriage never to do that. But, we both are educated. Why can't we wait till we understand each other completely?" She asked in a very soft and convincing tone.

"If you love me, you would have accepted me easily," I said.

"What? Why are you linking physical relationship with love which is pure and related to our hearts? I love you, and yes, I will give myself to you for sure. But give me some time," Roopa said and held her head again.

"Sometimes? Till when? Till you leave me again? Right?" I asked, holding her hand and shouting at her.

"Preetam! What were you talking? Roopa asked.

"Enough of your action, Roopa. I heard your conversation on mobile," I said, and Roopa laughed, holding her stomach for 5 minutes continuously.

"Why are you laughing? What was so funny for you in my words?"

"My dear sweet husband, so that’s the reason behind you ordering me to prepare Manchuria and dumplings, and forcing me, right? That's what I didn't understand the sudden change in your behaviour. I thought someone influenced you. Thank God, now I understood where the problem started," Roopa said cooly.

"Preetam, I said those things with a purpose. Nothing is true in it. I love you, and I have no intention to leave you."

I didn't respond to her words.

"Ok, Tell me what should I do now to make you trust me?" Roopa said, and I stayed calm.

"Are you going to believe me only if I give myself to you? However, one or the other day, I will become all your's. Why should I hurt you now by refusing? Now I am all your's" she said and lay on the bed.

She pulled me onto her. She smiled and closed her eyes.

"I love you, and from now, I am ready to become all your's in all means," Roopa said.

I got away from her without taking advantage of her.

"What happened?" Roopa asked, cupping my face.

"Nothing. I didn't want you to accept me like this. I will take that right only when you give that right to me wholeheartedly, but not as a compromise. Take your time, Roopa," I said and slept turning another side.

She turned me towards her.

"Preetam, please trust me. I am not acting. I am true to you. I really love you and want to share my life with you. Whatever I say to you is absolutely true. I am just misguiding others, but not you. I swear!" she said mocking a kid with a pout and keeping her right hand on her neck.

My heart wanted to trust her, but the clouds of doubt that filled my mind dominated it. I didn't reply and slept silently. The next day I didn't speak to her properly. I decided to avoid her. I was not angry with her. I know no one can force a person to love someone. It should be felt through her heart.

I decided to stay away from her because I didn't want to develop a bond with her. I knew the pain of missing her when she finally leaves me. I had proof which confirmed that she would leave me soon. I saw an advance booked tickets in her bag to Mumbai, which dated after a month.

Respecting marriage and accepting husband is different from loving husband. She appreciated this marriage. She recognized me as her husband. She wanted to be a good wife and daughter in law, but she never loved me. I decided to stop feeling for her and to forget her. I didn't know who Nandu is. I didn't mean I doubt her, but I didn't think she loved me. One of my friends, who works in a bank where she had an account, told me that her account had lakhs of rupees and every month nearly fifty thousand was transferred to her account from an unknown. How was that possible? She was from a middle class and unemployed. How did she have fifteen lakhs in her account? Did she involve in any criminal activity? I had no answers for anything.
