Preetam found Roopa
Preetam PoV:
I decided to search for Roopa and to bring her back. I didn't want Roopa to live alone as an orphan because I was there for her, though her entire family left her. I loved Roopa so much. I stayed silent many times when she was hurt, as I respected my parents. But at that time, I chose to show what could I do for my wife, Roopa.
I got dressed and took my mobile. Mom and dad looked at me.
"Preetam, where are you going?" Mom asked me
"To bring my wife back," I replied firmly.
"Preetam, you are in this stage just because of Roopa. We are not ready to accept her anymore," mom said.
"Enough mom, already we suffered Roopa a lot. Now I am not worried about your decision to accept her. I am worried about Roopa's decision. I don't know whether she will accept us or not. Whatever if I return to home, it would be only with my wife or you can forget your son forever," I said
I started from there without waiting for their reaction. I went to Roopa's maternal home. I was sure she wouldn't be there, but I might get some information regarding her friends.
"Preetam!" her dad said.
"Namaste uncle, I came to talk about Roopa," I said.
"We are sorry, beta. We spoiled your life by getting Roopa married to you. She wouldn't allow anyone to live happily and peacefully. I regret having such a reckless daughter," her dad said fueling my anger. I was not in a position to hear even a single word against Roopa.
"Stop it, uncle!" I roared at him.
"Don't say one more word against my Roopa. She is not reckless, but brave. As people like you, Roopa couldn't think her family was everything to her. She thought this whole nation was her family and was ready to sacrifice anything for her family.
She didn't spoil my life. Instead, she gave me a new life by proving my innocence and catching the real culprits. To be frank, we were the one who spoiled her life by blaming her every time.
Choosing her dream career was not her fault, but her fault was to born in this family as a girl. Entire nation felt proud of her and celebrated her success when she caught terrorists risking her life. But her own family declared her as a failure and sent her out of the house.
Now I am telling you, we are a failure forever as we missed her. If I didn't find her, I wouldn't leave you or my parents. This is not what she deserves. From now, think before passing a negative comment at Roopa, because I am not going to leave anyone who insults her," I said sincerely.
Her parents, brother and sister in law got shocked by my warning.
"I came here to know the information about her friends," I said.
No one reacted except her sister in law.
"Preetam, wait I will give you Roopa's diary in which she wrote phone numbers of her close friends. It may help you in searching for her," her sister in law said.
She gave Roopa's dairy to me.
"Roopa is lucky to have you. There are very few people who understand the views of wife well. Please bring her back. I never saw her being happy until now. Please keep her happy in your love. I hope she will be fine. Your love will save her. All the best!" her sister in law said.
I smiled and started from there to Nandu's home. I talked to Mitra, Sanju and Nandu. We four tried calling her friends with the help of her dairy. Nandu and Sanju got married. They called their friends too. But no one said anything about her. I called the next number on the list.
"Hello!" I said.
"Hello, Vishwaja speaking," said from the other side.
"Hello, I am Preetam, Roopa's husband," I introduced myself.
"Roopa's husband?" Roopa's friend Vishwaja said.
"Yes, Roopa is missing from a year. We tried all the sources but didn't find her yet. Do you know anything about her Ms Vishwaja," I asked her.
"I.. No.. I don't know anything," Vishwaja said stammering.
"Did she call you anytime in this one year?" I asked to extend the talk.
"No, she didn't," Vishwaja said, in short sentences.
"Did you call her anytime?"
"No, I didn't," Vishwaja said.
"I tried to inquire in her office, but of no use," I said.
"Yes, as she resigned to her job, you can't know anything about her from her colleagues," Vishwaja said.
I smiled, listening to the words of Vishwaja. My doubt was confirmed. Roopa was in Punjab with Vishwaja.
"Thank you! If you know anything about Roopa, please let me know," I said and disconnected the call.
"Nandu, do you know about Vishwaja and her address?" I asked.
"I don't know about her anything, but can trace the address with her phone number as I work in the Intelligence Department," Nandu said.
"I want her address. Roopa is living with her," I said.
"What? How do you know?"
"Vishwaja's stammering at the beginning created doubt. Later she confirmed it by mentioning about Roopa's resignation, which I didn't tell her. If I go there, I may find Roopa or any information about her," I said.
"I will give you the address within a few minutes," Nandu said.
Nandu called to the customer care of the Vishwaja's mobile network company and using his profession, found the address. I started to go to Punjab. By the next day afternoon, I went to Vishwaja's home. I knocked on the door. A girl opened the door.
"Are you Ms Vishwaja?" I asked.
"Yes!" The girl said.
"I am Roopa's husband, Preetam," I said.
"Oh, but I already told you that Roopa is not here," Vishwaja said.
"Yes, but I want the truth. I know Roopa is here. Call her or I am not going to leave from here," I said.
Vishwaja thought for sometime and tried to call Roopa.
"No don't inform about me to Roopa. I am not ready to miss her one more time. Please sister, help me. I love Roopa a lot. I can't live without her; please help me, sister," I requested Vishwaja.
"Roopa was hurt. Are you sure that you are not going to hurt her again?" Vishwaja asked me.
"Yes, I won't hurt her. I promise you," I said.
Vishwaja nodded and told the place where I could find Roopa. I went to the Sukhna Lake in Punjab to meet Roopa. I searched for Roopa and at last, saw her. I patted on her shoulder and sat beside her.
"It's been a long time, I didn't see you," I said.
Roopa turned my side seriously and looked at me surprised.
"Preetam, how are you?" Roopa said with tears touching my face with love and concern.
I thought to tease Roopa by making her angry. I loved to see her possessiveness for me.
"I came here for my wife. I mean she wants to visit this place for the honeymoon," I said, and the expression on Roopa's face changed instantly.
"Honeymoon?" Roopa asked.
"Yes, I got married to a girl of my dreams. She is a homemaker, but helps me too in the company works. She is smart, sweet, caring and adorable," I said, imagining my Roopa in my mind.
"But I didn't divorce you," Roopa said, assuming that I was talking about someone else.
"You left me when I was ill. Is it not enough for me to leave you?" I asked her.
"I didn't leave you; I was forced to leave by your parents. That doesn't mean you can marry someone else. Till now I had borne everything with love for you. I thought when you come out of the coma; you would come for me. But, how can you marry someone else?" Roopa shouted at me holding my collar.
"I didn't know all that. If you agree, I am ready to accept you too along with my another wife," I said.
"Shut up, Preetam! How could you do this to me? Is this what you call as love? Leave from here, before I do anything to you," Roopa said.
I pulled Roopa towards me and silenced her non-stop shouting at me by shutting her lips with my lips. Roopa was surprised and then pushed me away.
"What are you doing, Preetam? What would your wife think about you, if she sees us like this? It's not fair. Go away," Roopa said.
Roopa started leaving away from there, and I laughed out loud at her. Roopa stopped and looked at me. I raised my eyebrows teasing her.
"Why are you laughing?" Roopa asked me.
I didn't reply and held her, wrapping my left arm around her waist.
"Your lips are tempting me," I said seducingly.
"Are you kidding me?" Roopa asked me.
"What?" I said.
"You lied to me about your marriage, right?"
"How do you know?" I asked her.
"You can never forget your Roopa and seduce another woman if you were married to someone else. I know your character," Roopa said.
I kissed her cheek.
"I came here for my wife, my queen. How can I leave her when I promised her that I would never leave her hand for the lifetime?" I said holding her hand and kissing it.
I found a beautiful smile on her face. Roopa looked cute. I decided to show our families what was her value. I thought to prove that the daughter was never a burden, and her ambition was never a factor that degrades the reputation of a family.
