Roopa, always on Mission

Preetam PoV:

I was happy to find my Roopa. My happiness knew no bounds at that moment. We both sat on a bench near the lake. I held her hand, and she leaned on my shoulder.

"I love you, Roopa!" I said.

"I love you too," Roopa said cutely.

"Shall we start to our home?" I asked her.

"Sure! What about mom and dad? They hate me," Roopa said sadly.

"I will take care of everything. Don't worry, Roopa. I am with you," I assured her.

"I didn't want you to fight with your parents," Roopa said.

"I love this attitude in you, but sweetheart, at a point we should raise our voice against injustice. If not, they will think they are right forever. Anyways, I am not going to fight with them, but I will fight for my wife and her rights," I said.

I observed tears in her eyes.

"Preetam, If it's not you, then I would be all alone in my life. You are the only person who understood me well. You made me, complete with your love. Thank you so much," Roopa said kissing on my forehead.

"Shall we start?" I asked her.

"No, I will come to you, but I need time. First, you go to our home. I will come after a few days," Roopa said.

"But why? Roopa, I will take care of everything. You just come with me, please. If you were hurt because of my parents' words, I am sorry," I said.

"No, Preetam! I am not angry at all. I will come to you definitely but need a few days," Roopa said.

"No, I can't go without you. I will stay in the hotel till you accompany me," I said.

"No, I can't risk again, Preetam. You are leaving from here right now. That's it," Roopa said, almost ordered me.

Why did Roopa become serious all of a sudden? Is her resignation fake?

I thought there might be some reason for her decision. I guessed that Roopa was still on a mission. It was better to leave Roopa for some time than throwing her into a problem.

"Ok, I will leave," I said.

"Thank you! Come on! I will drop you at the airport," Roopa said.

We started in Roopa's car. She dropped me at the airport. Roopa hugged me giving send off to me.

"Take care of yourself. I know Roopa will always be on a mission. All the best, sweetheart. I will be waiting for you," I said and kissed on her forehead.

I went back to my city. I stayed at Nandu's house.

Roopa PoV:

I was more than happy to see Preetam. His love and understanding made me feel delighted. I asked Preetam to go back as I had a few works to settle them.

I went to Vishwaja, and we decided to attack the terrorists. I came to Punjab not for the baby, but on a mission. Preetam was right that I was always on a mission.

We wore a bulletproof coat and took revolvers. We called the team and asked them to reach the place.

For one year, we were working on this mission. Vishwaja was also an Intelligence Officer. We found all clues and planned a strategy to catch them. We went to the place. Our team surrounded the mansion. I knocked on the door, and a person opened the door. I shot him by attaching a silencer to the revolver so that they don't get alerted hearing the sound. I gestured with my hand to the team to get in. Slowly we went into the room and attacked the main gang.

The fight went on. Firing started, and both of the teams were fighting and firing. Suddenly a bullet entered into me from the back side. I turned back and shot the person. Almost all the criminals were shot dead, but one caught me as a captive. My team stopped firing to save me, but I asked them to shoot. They refused my instruction. I waited for the moment and then kicked the terrorist in his stomach. He fired, and it went straight into my chest. I shot him thrice, and he shot me for the second time.

I fell on the floor bleeding. I saw that fellow breathing his last. A proud smile appeared on my face. I felt proud for winning every mission assigned to me.

"Roopa, please don't lose consciousness. Look at me," Vishwaja said.

"I never let any terrorist to escape from India or to execute their plan of harming my fellow Indians. It's my India. It's our India. Till the Indian Defence exists and a team like mine is alive, no one can harm our India. I love my India. I love our India. We are ready to sacrifice our lives to save crores of people. Mera Bharath Mahaan," I said to Vishwaja.

Vishwaja cried listening to my words.

"Mera Bharath Mahaan," Vishwaja said, wiping her tears saluting me. My entire team saluted me.

"Vishwaja, please handover my baby safely to my husband, Preetam. Don't cry. I am happy to sacrifice my life for India. Jai Hind!" I said and lost conscious.

Preetam PoV:

We were watching the news on the TV and then saw news saying Roopa was shot and in a critical stage. Tears started flowing from my eyes, and I was looking without any emotions.

"Preetam, let us start to Punjab immediately," Nandu said, and we started in his car. I didn't know how did I reach till the car.

We reached hospital by the next day morning. We went inside. Nandu enquired about Roopa. Doctors told that they were still operating on her and the bullet entered into her heart from the chest. They said it was a tough surgery and they were trying their best to save her.

Vishwaja came to me with a baby in her hands.

"Preetam, she is your daughter Prema," Vishwaja said, giving the baby to me.

I came back to my senses by hearing the cry of the baby. I took Prema into my hands. She was the symbol of our love. I hugged the baby and kissed the baby. She looked as cute as Roopa with her little hands and legs. I played with my daughter.

The doctors came out, and I went hurriedly to them.

"Doctor, Roopa?" I asked finding difficult to form a sentence.

"Don't worry; the operation went successfully. Roopa is safe. Within three hours, she will come into consciousness," the doctor said.

I waited for three hours, but felt like three yugs. Finally, the nurse called me telling that Roopa came into consciousness. I went inside the ICU and caressed her hairs. Roopa opened her eyes. She looked at the baby and me with tears.

"Recover soon and come back. I am waiting to fight with you for being careless. How can you think of leaving our baby and me?" I said with happy tears, kissing her hand softly without hurting her.

Roopa smiled at me.

"I will take care of our baby. You don't worry and recover soon. I love you!" I said.
