Preetam’s Decision
Preetam PoV:
I woke up in the morning and stretched my hand to hold Roopa without opening my eyes. I couldn't touch her, and I opened my eyes. Roopa was not in bed. She woke up soon as usual. I understood that as three days were completed, she was back to normal. Those three days, Roopa became a sleeping baby. I realised that during the menstrual cycle, a woman needs long hours of sleep.
I got up from the bed and saw Roopa in the corridor. I got fresh up and went to her. She was sipping tea and enjoying the sunrise. Roopa looked terrific as the freshly risen Sun rays fell on her face. Her glowing face is something worth seeing.
I went to her and placed my hand on her waist to hold her. I stretched her hand towards my direction and sipped tea from her cup.
"Preetam, if you want tea, ask me. Wait, I will prepare fresh tea for you," Roopa said.
"No, I want this tea touched by your lips, which makes this tea sweeter or the sweetest," I said, and she raised her eyebrows.
"What?" I asked her.
"Nothing! I am just thinking that by any chance are you planning another game to hurt me," Roopa said.
Her words hit me harder as an arrow. I thought Roopa would never trust me or my love for her ever in life. I clutched my fist cursing myself. Roopa brought fresh tea for me. I sipped the tea, which tasted not less than nectar, as Roopa prepared it.
"Preetam, can you please give me your mobile? I will order breakfast," Roopa said, and I gave her my mobile.
I went to the room and lay on bed calmly. Roopa ordered food and sat beside me. I switched on the TV and started changing channels due to irritation.
"Why are you changing channels continuously? Are you mad?" Roopa shouted at me.
"Yes! I am mad. It's my wish, I will change the channels," I said changing the channels again.
Roopa frowned at me. Suddenly Roopa slept in my lap.
"What? Get up!" I said.
"It's my wish," Roopa said smirking.
I glared at her, but then smile occupied my face. I felt to caress her hairs, but stopped thinking she might not believe my love or anything I do now. Roopa woke up from my lap.
"Sorry!" she said, holding her ears.
I didn't get why she was apologising to me.
"Dear husband, I am sorry for hurting you," Roopa said pouting.
I looked at her. I smiled inwardly. Getting a wife who apologises to you for your mistake is indeed a stroke of luck!
Shut up, idiot! If you continue this, Roopa will leave you soon.
Lover of Roopa in me cursed me. However, I chose to act for some more time to see her convincing me.
"I am not convinced. Try again," I said, feeling relaxed as Roopa forgave me.
As I said to convince me, Roopa kept cute face and moved towards me and kissed my lips. I responded to her kiss and kissed her softly. I broke the kiss and took her onto my lap.
"Sorry Roopa, I won't act like that ever. If I didn't like anything, I would say that directly to you. I won't hurt you by acting," I apologised to Roopa.
"It's ok, leave it. Now tell me what have you planned for me today?" Roopa asked.
I kissed her soft cheeks.
"What can I plan when you are on my lap, this close to me? I want to keep staring at you. You look like a bride who came from heaven for me. Your long hairs, soft cheeks, wide eyes, cute lips are the real treasure for my eyes. The fact that this beauty is all mine makes me super happy," I said and kissed her back.
Roopa blushed and smiled. Roopa looked impressive in her golden coloured saree with a red border. Her glowing face matched with the colour of her sari. She wore long and beautiful hangings to her ears. Her necklace was ideally suited to her skin tone. Her hands shined with bangles of gold coloured stones and red glass bangles. Red vermilion on her forehead and nuptial chain made her look elegant. I held both her hands.
"I am sorry, baby. Very sorry. I never cheat you again through my action. Please don't be angry with me, sweety. I love you," I said one more time, though she forgave me already.
I didn't want to lose her. I couldn't miss her. I decided to support her in handling job and home. The problem would never arise if I were with her. I fixed to try this. I determined to help her at home so that she might become burden free. When she left for her job, I would take care of mom and dad. When she was free, she would take care of everything at our home.
"It's ok, my dear sweet hubby. Forget it. I know you are not bad and not intended to hurt me. It's just your temporary anger," Roopa said and kissed my forehead.
"Ok then tell me where you want to go today? Let's go there," I said.
"Your wish, Preetam!"
"I don't want to go anywhere. I want you," I said winking.
Roopa became dull.
"What happened?" I asked, cupping her face.
"I won't be comfortable for making love until five days complete," Roopa said slowly.
"Hey, it's ok. I am sorry, I didn't know well about this. But Roopa, I can understand if you explain your problems to me. Ok, let's go out for shopping today," I said
She nodded but was still sad.
"I am sorry for upsetting you again. I didn't want to say No when you ask, but... " Roopa tried to explain me.
"Roopa, you didn't upset me. You can say No whenever you are not ready for it. No need to accept whenever I ask. It's lovemaking; I mean heartfully loving each other. Not fulfilling my need, got it in your stupid mind," I said hitting her forehead lightly and softly. I gave her a side hug. Roopa smiled.
"Now get ready. Get ready in any dress you feel comfortable. I think you may not be able to handle sari now as you are not habituated to wear sarees," I said.
"Ok, I will wear Salwar Kameez," Roopa said.
We went shopping. Roopa went to sarees section and chose sarees with a wide border which is of old fashion.
"Roopa, have you already become so old to choose such sarees? God, I never thought that I married a senior citizen," I teased her and Roopa glared at me.
Roopa bought seven sarees of the same design but different colours. However, all are old fashioned. I didn't understand her taste.
Roopa started strolling while returning from the mall as it had several floors, but no lift or escalator.
"Roopa, are you unable to walk?"
"Ya! My legs started aching again. Shall we sit somewhere for a while?" Roopa was saying something, but before she completed her words, I lifted her in my arms.
"Preetam, leave me. This is a shopping mall, not our home. Everyone is seeing us," Roopa said blushing.
"No problem! Let them see. I don't bother. You don't look at them, keep looking into my eyes, and within no time, I will take you to our car," I said and started walking with her in my arms.
What if others look at us? I was trying to make my wife feel comfortable. How could she walk when her legs were aching? I loved my wife and wanted to take care of her every second.
I took her to the car and made her sit in it. Roopa looked at me. I was about to start the car, and she suddenly kissed my cheek.
"Romance should be done in our room darling, not in a public place," I said smiling. I set my seat belt and started the car to go.
"No issue! Everyone was looking at you when you lifted me in arms. I just wanted to confirm to them that you are mine and only mine," Roopa said possessively.
"Very possessive about your husband, right?"
"No, I love my husband a lot, and I hate any girl staring at him," Roopa said sternly.
"Don't worry. Your husband wouldn't fall for the looks of anyone. Because he fell for you long back," I said.
We returned to the resort. We had the dinner, and I started planning for tomorrow.
"Roopa, tell me where we shall go tomorrow? It's the last day of your leave period. So, we have to enjoy the fullest," I said to her.
I felt bad unknowingly. After tomorrow, Roopa would get busy again with her work and cases. Of course, Roopa makes time for me even though she is working as I do. I might have many company works, but I make sure every time that to have some free time to spend with her.
"Shall we go to a pub?" Roopa asked me.
