Chapter 64

Wren Austin was sad.
She was leaving her paradise on earth and back to the shitty town that she now hated ten times folds after having enjoyed her small getaway.
Her trip was Giovanni has been one hell of an emotional rollercoaster mixed with a lot of steamy instances, but probably counts as the best week of the blonde’s life.
Thinking about leaving this paradise on earth was bittersweet. After the weekend she had, the last thing she needed was to be hit by reality the day after Giovanni’s girlfriend's proposal.
She wanted to stay here, away from the drama in Craigsburg that awaited them. Hell, some part of her hoped to start afresh here with just him.
With the only man, she's loved her entire life.
The blonde was yet to fully comprehend it. Just a few weeks back, she was balling her eyes out because of his indifferent behaviour towards her.
And now, he'd stepped up.
It was with great agony that the blonde got into the black SUV and put on her seatbelt. The car was yet to take off but she could already feel the drama hitting her.
For the first time in days, she switched on her phone and at once, thousands of messages came flooding in. Of course, she ignored all these messages and focused only on Gwendolyn's message and after replying, she switched off her phone.
She didn't see the need to reply to them now. It was only going to make her dread going back.
The ride was a silent one. Whilst Giovanni drove and occasionally searched through the radio hoping to find something to listen to, Wren Austin rested her head on the window.
It wasn't long before Giovanni’s car pulled up to the same station for a refill. Then, the blonde suddenly felt like walking into the convenience store and giving Karen a piece of her mind as she wasn't able to do that.
And just as she was about to open her side of the door, Giovanni appeared and gave her a knowing look.
"Don't even think about it" the young man uttered casually before turning on the ignition and driving off.

Wren Austin wasn’t happy as she made her way to the pub that evening. Her mood had shifted from bad to worse. Just as expected, the news about her sudden disappearance with Giovanni was circulating throughout the town and she already knew that Hunter will be asking to see her anytime soon.
Wren Austin wanted to be with Giovanni O’Connell. But since that wasn't possible for her, she found it difficult to stay home which is why she found herself walking to the pub.
Luke Junior Tequeido stood outside, flirting with a girl the blonde knew all too well. The lanky-looking man at once stood from the wall where he leaned when his gaze landed on Wren and he began to fidget.
The blonde found this amusing. The fact he thought she cared about whatever he had going on with his life was amusing to her.
"Oh Wren, hi" Luke uttered nervously, but Wren walked past him as though he never existed. But she however overheard the girl he was flirting with yell out, calling him a bastard for having disrespected her from the way he looked and acted towards Wren.
The smile that appeared on Wren’s cheeks was inevitable. She pushed the door to the pub open and silence filled the room. But the blonde was already used to it so she made her way graciously to the counter.
Gwendolyn Jefferson was not pleased with her friend. Usually, she would have been excited over having Wren at the bar with her, but not this time.
Now when the girl had disappeared and only left a stupid ass message.
But Gwen’s anger towards her friend didn't last long. Not when she saw the big smile on her face. The smile was unlike any other the dark-haired has seen and that made her heart flutter.
She wanted her friend to be happy and anything else didn't matter.
"I swear, the last time I saw you, which by the feels like over a month ago" the dark-haired began. She made sure to wipe the table before placing a bottle of beer before Wren.
"Your face wasn't this bright. The sparkles in your eyes and the way your smile is radiant, it doesn't take a fool to know it has something to do with that gorgeous man" there was a smirk on Gwen’s face as she spoke that made the blonde's cheeks flush.
Gwendolyn Jefferson asked her substitute Mary to take over her shift whilst she struggled to squeeze out information from her best friend.
At once, Wren Austin proceeded to narrate how things went with Giovanni. From how he showed up at her house when she was crying, to how she woke up in the middle asking Giovanni to make love to her. Then, the impromptu trip came on. She told her friend how Giovanni took her to a spot she'd always wanted to visit as a kid, the incident at the convenience store, how the room service lady from the hotel almost caught them in the act of going to town
By the time the blonde finished speaking, Gwendolyn was laughing uncontrollably, so much so that her sides hurt and she had to hold them to reduce the pain.
"Poor woman. She must have been traumatised" the dark-haired managed to utter in between laughter.
"I was so embarrassed. Imagine if I'd not been fast enough, she would have caught us red-handed. Giovanni's face buried in my punani" Wren Austin couldn't help but face pam herself.
Thinking about it again, her cheeks flushed pink.
"Now that's something I'd like to see". Gwendolyn picked up Wren's drink and emptied it.
"Of course, you'd like to see that. How about I watch you and Topaz getting at it" the blonde said with annoyance in her voice.
Gwendolyn shrugged. "Do I look like I have a problem with that?" she winked making the blonde roll her eyes.
"But yeah, that's basically it," she said after a while.
A brief moment of silence crept in between both girls before Gwendolyn spoke up.
"So" she stated.
"So?"
"Anything else I should know? I feel there's something you haven't told me" she pressed on.
"Oh, there's nothing left" Wren's reply came in fast.
"Asides from the fact that I am now his girlfriend" it was now Wren's turn to shrug, leaving Gwen’s mouth hanging wide open.
