Chapter 75

**Artemis**

I can feel Blue as soon as she steps into the room. It’s as if my body is attuned to her presence and wants to remind me of where her mouth was not long ago. My dick twitches at the reminder but I use my skill of not giving anything away to hide the urge I feel to drag her back upstairs. I don’t even care that she’s on her period, I want her. Never thought I would think about doing something like that but that’s how addicted to her I’m becoming.

“Alright instruct me mystro!” She says once she’s seated at the desk next to me.

“Every part of the internal parts of the company have been transferring to my off site server overnight and should be finished soon. Then the whole server in the building will be wiped. Once that’s done my father will panic and fall back on using the media to make him not look inadequate. We need to prevent any news of my company’s current situation to get out just yet. To do that we need to set up a trojan horse that we will send to each media outlet in the form of something inconspicuous. Like an email ad. When any member of the media group opens the ad the trojan horse will be uploaded.” I start to explain to her.

“Will the virus take out the whole system or pinpoint on specific keywords?” She asks.

Smart girl. “It would be too obvious to take out their whole system, so we will choose specific names and keywords to be flagged. Those files will be corrupted making it impossible for people to access it.

“Okay, so what do you need me to do?” She asks.

I look over at her and I feel the back of my neck get hot. She’s beautiful without makeup which is her usual look but the dark eye makeup she has on makes her look almost sinful.

“You are going to read through employee correspondence from my company and try to figure out who’s helping my father. He can’t have done any of this alone, and when I take him down I want everyone involved to go down with him.” I grit my teeth in anger.

All I want to do is yell to anyone who will listen that my father is a manipulative asshole who is trying to ruin my reputation our of pure spite. It’s immature and further proof that he is desperate to remain relevant in this changing world. People don’t want to buy magazines when they can read everything on the internet. They don’t want to watch Tv and movies the old way when there’s streaming. The reality is that in a few years his whole empire will be obsolete. My grandmother made sure that her grandchildren would have enough to do what we want to do and live comfortably but my father will be ruined. He’s invested all his money into his empire, but every empire falls eventually.

“If you reinvent your company what will happen to the old one? Will you keep the same name and just buy a new building?” Blue asks.

“We put a lot of work into this company. It would be a waste to completely start over.” Alan says.

“Why not? If you do then your company would no longer be controlled by the Rhodes family business any more right?” She asks.

“Artemis’s father controls some of the stock in the company, so we can’t do much more than start over but keep the name the same. Until we can buy him out, if he will even sell his shares, we’re stuck.” Alan explains.

Blue tilts her head like she’s considering what he’s saying. I watch her until she turns her attention to me. I can see in her eyes that she has an idea but I shake my head and glance at the others. There are some things only a man and his wife should discuss. Thankfully she seems to understand because she nods.

“Right. Let’s get started then.” She says before stretching her arms over her head and cracking her neck.

All of us go silent as we work on our perspective jobs. Abigail brings us drinks or food when we ask, but otherwise we stay at our desks for several hours.

“Oh shit.” Blue says suddenly. “Holy crap! I think I found something.”

I push my chair back and walk around to stand behind her. She has a string of email pulled up from our security firm client. There is back and forth communication where he tells my father everything he was able to learn along with what his employees were able to gather.

“How would he know any of this?” Blue asks. “It seems a little advance for a muscle guy.”

“She’s right. He might have told your dad a few things but the rest of this doesn’t make sense.” Alan says in agreement.

“Unless the break in the security codes was a way for him to get into our system when we linked for the repair. As far as I know he doesn’t have any experience in this field.” I say.

“He was part of the military right?” Blue asks.

“Yes all of his men served before joining him.”

“So there are parts of the military that involve computer skills isn’t there. Drone programs and stuff like that right? Those guys would have to be pretty computer savy to work in those departments. Maybe one of the men he sent were part of those programs.” She looks between Alan and me as if to see if she could be right.

“They would be able to hide that information as well if it was classified work.” Alan adds.

“I brought a fox into a hen house.” I say.

“Okay, so that client had been sent by your father. I don’t see when they gave him the green light to go in, so he still has someone else helping.” Blue moves the emails to another file before opening the ones she hasn’t read yet. “I’ll keep looking.”

“I’ll call a meeting with the slippery shits.” Alan offers but I grab his arm before he can walk off.

“No. It’s time we dished out a little punishment.” I say giving him a knowing look.

He smiles. “Hell yeah!”

We go back to our seats and get to work on our revenge plan. Time to send them a screw you gift. The three of us fall back into our silent work, but when several more hours pass and Abigail hasn’t come back I start to wonder where she is. I check my phone and don’t see any messages saying she was leaving for the day. It’s odd but if she thinks just because things are different right now that her work for me has changed then she’s sorely mistaken.

“Where’s Abigail?” I ask Alan.

“You really do end up in a whole other place when you work. She said she needed to grab some supplies at the store if we’re turning this place into a makeshift headquarters.” Blue says.

She still has her eyes fixed on the screen but there’s a faint smile on her lips. A smile that I caused. Fuck she’s beautiful when she smiles. That’s a sappy thing to think but it’s true.

“I’m not sure what more she could need. We have all the necessities already.” Alan points out.

Blue shrugs and the topic is quickly forgotten. When another couple hours pass and we start making dinner plans I know somethings off when Abigail doesn’t return.

“Wait. This cant be right…” Blue says all of a sudden.

“What?” Alan asks.

“A new message just showed up. Am outgoing messagw from a company email to your dad.” Blue glances up at me before continuing. “It’s from Abigail.”

“What?” Alan is up on his feet before I am. “That can’t be right.”

“Its clear as day. She’s outlined our whole plan.” I stand behind Blue and read every word my assistant has shared.

Blue’s right, Abigail has told him everything.

“She wouldn’t be stupid enough to use her work email when she knows we’re monitoring everything.” Alan says while shaking his head in disbelief. “No way. This is wrong.”

“It’s not. She’s been helping Artemis’s dad this whole time.” Blue says with finality.

Alan shakes his head. “No way. I need to go talk to her.”

He storms off just as Blue gets up from her seat to stop him.

“I can’t believe this either.” She shakes her head and crosses her arms with her shoulders pulled down.

She seemed calm but that is her way of giving herself time to work it out. I start to think back at how Abigail has been acting recently. Her idea to post about Blue started a media frenzy. Then there is the way people kept finding where we were even when we changed locations. Even when Blue was attacked, the police wouldn’t have said anything about where we were bit someone had to.

How long has she been working with my father?
