Chapter 84

**Blue**

I have no idea where we are. It’s dark now so it was hard keeping track of each turn Bryant made to get us here. When he pulls into the driveway a bunch of lights around the house turn on giving me a pretty good look at the outside. The driveway is on an incline straight toward a garage that looks to have a possible second story. Odd, but maybe it’s just really big inside. The house is a grey-green color with red accents, and I can admit I don’t hate the combination. There are a few steps next to the driveway that lead up to a small path leading to the second set of stairs that lead to the main house.

The house has a deck-like area in front and a large set of windows almost taking up the rest of the wall beside the front door. There are trees lining the entire front area of the house making a wall of sorts, but I’m sure Artemis will be putting up some real walls soon enough. He won’t want our house being this exposed, I’m sure.

“What do you think?” He asks.

I smile at him. “It’s amazing. I’m a little surprised by the location. This place doesn’t scream Billionaire Nerd Genius.”

“That’s the point. Its supposed to look…normal. Like a real house.” He seems a little nervous, but I can’t see why.

This place is gorgeous!

I’m too excited to see everything that I throw my door open and nearly take out Bryant.

“Sorry!” I yell to him as I jog off toward the first set of stairs.

There are only three before a small path that leads to the next set so I practically jump them. Once I’m standing at the bottom of the final section of stairs I stop and get to see the full view of our house. The lights are bright enough to let me see it but I can tell it will look far more beautiful when the sun is up. This section of stairs is l Ionger so I decide to take my time. My feet stop on the beautiful stone deck and I freeze again. The front door is bright red and to my right there is another red door that must lead to the garage.
In front of the large three-section window there is a simple table and chairs but not much else. I guess I’ll have to think about what to put out here. That’s going to be interesting since I don’t know a thing about deck…decorating. Artemis doesn’t want me to ask for help but I may need to at least be pointed in the right direction. Unless he plans to go on all these shopping trips with me. That could be fun!

“The keypad on the door can be unlocked by finger scan or code. It also has a camera built into it so we can see if anyone attempts to tamper with it.” Artemis says when he stops next to me.

“Nifty. So, are we going inside?” He moves forward and places his thumb on the screen on our door that was blacked out until he touched it.

There is a chiming sound as the door unlocks. I glance back and see that Bryant is pulling the car into the garage.

“How’s Bryant getting home if he’s parking the car in the garage?” I ask Artemis.

“Dane and him will take shifts staying in the security hub. That’s where that door leads.” He points at the door I thought led to the garage.

So there is a room above the garage. I wonder what sort of toys Artemis set up in there for the guys to mess with. There isn’t much hiding us from the outside world other than a row of trees lining the sidewalk in front of the property. I’m sure Artemis will change that soon enough, but with us living on a hill I’m not sure how he’ll manage it.

“Are you coming?” I turn to see him standing inside already.

All the lights are turned on now and I can make out a large open space just inside. I walk in and gawk at the size of the main room. It’s huge! I mean from the outside you could see the house is long, but it’s built deep as well. It looks like you could fit a restaurant in here! There is a large L-shaped couch set up in the middle of the room with a giant TV hanging on the wall. I mean it’s freaking massive! I didn’t know you could TVs that size. Why on earth do we need one so big?

Rich people sure go all out.

I walk further into the large room and spot the kitchen to the left of me. It is also huge with stainless steal appliances that sparkle way too much. The color scheme is a black, white and Grey combination that looks nice but lacks any other colors. There are some appliances on the counters but the glass door cabinets don’t show much in way of dishes and stuff. Isn’t it a rich people thing to buy like plate sets and fancy utensils? How much would it freak out Artemis if I bought a bunch of colorful plastic stuff?

The idea is a tempting one but I also want our house to look nice and plastic everything would make it look cheap. Who knows how much Artemis spent on this place! I can’t ruin it by having silly stuff everywhere. This is going to be hard. There has to be a website where I can see other people’s homes to get some inspiration. I’ll have to send Rhea a secret message and ask.

“Do you want the full tour or should I show you our room?” He says that with a bit of heat in his eyes.

Did he forget that sexy times would have to wait at least another day?

My periods were intense but short. They usually end at three or four days, so it would only be a day or so longer. Besides I’m exhausted and am in desperate need of a shower.

“Sure lets see our room. I’m pretty tired so the rest can wait until tomorrow.”

He nods and removes his jacket as he walks down the long hallway to the right of the house. We pass a small section of wall before a giant glass box comes into view. I stand in stun awe at what looks like a tiny ecosystem in our house! There is a small creek, a waterfall, a wooden bridge and even a bench to sit on. IN OUR HOUSE!

“What the fuck?” I sputter out.

“It came with the house. A bit ridiculous but we can have it removed if you want.” Why isn’t he freaking out with me?

This was way too cool to tear down, no way!

“Our room is this way.” I turn my head back in the direction we had been walking and see Artemis leaving me in the dust.

He’s taken his jacket off and is wearing a white button up that is showing all the muscles in his back. Is the front as transparent as the back because I can see a nice shadow of his body right now. How did I end up with someone like him? Fate was very kind to me! I’ll have to remember to thank her later. Man, am I sweating now? That’s embarrassing….

We pass several closed doors and then this small open section for laundry stuff. I’ll have to do some research in that field as well. I didn’t use anything fancy when I had the money to wash clothes. Things have been changing and it can be hard to find a laundry place that still takes coins and has the vending machine for detergent. Now I would have a set of machines of my own and I can get any kind of detergent I want. It’s a simple thing to be excited about but I can’t wait to try it all! I want to learn everything and anything I can about running a house. That probably would include cooking, right?

Oh man.

The number of things I’ll be expected to do is feeling overwhelming.

I continue my mental breakdown when Artemis finally stops in front of one of the doors. He waits until I’m sitting next to him before he pushes the door open. I move past him and see a big bed that looks a lot like the ones we had in Fiji.

“Is that….”

He smiles and gives me a slight nod. I take off like a bat out of hell and throw myself onto the bed. The parts of my body that are sore are hardly noticeable when I’m laying on the best feeling bed I’ve ever laid on.

“How did you get one so fast?” I ask Artemis while I stretch and get comfortable on our new bed.

“I spoke to the owners before we left and asked them to have our dream bed sent here before we arrived. So you will be comfortable for our first night here.”

I’m so happy that I nearly break my neck trying to climb off the bed and thank him properly.
