121- Story Time – Part 3
Isabella
Hours later… Next day
“Wakey, wakey sweetheart” sounds a familiar voice. Light tapping now against my cheek which causes me to wince. “You ended up passing out on us last night before we could finish our story.”
Gee I wonder why, I think. Groaning softly as I move to mumble out words. “Ever heard of a thing called a chill pill? You should probably try it before you start whining like a little bitch in heat.”
Bracing myself for another slap or stab to another part of my body do I instantly hear laughter. Dark laughter as if what I just said to him was funny. Now attempting to look through swollen, red eyes do I turn to see only 1 of 4 men now sitting in front of me. Lucia nowhere to be seen as Antonio moves to sit before me, legs once again spread wide, and his arms crossed like the previous night. Antonio currently dressed in everything black along with a shoulder holster for his gun, gulping as I do.
Antonio now moving to offer me a sip of water in which I accept greedily. Chugging the water as quick as possible before he could move to take it away from me. More words spilling from my lips as I move to ask about Lucia.
“Where’s your little lap dog?”
Unamused by the question does he move to speak up. “Lucia had other matters to attend too at the moment. So I highly suggest little girl that you watch who your speaking to and check the attitude or else” snaps Antonio. Anger lacing his words as he does. Too stupid to know any better when it came down to pointing a finger directly in front of me.
Smirking at how stupid he was, do I move to bite his finger and hard. Mustering all the strength that I could as he moves to yell and scream. Words of profanity now leaving his mouth as he paints the most beautiful picture. A sharp jab to my ribs forcing me to release his finger. The taste of blood soon reaching my tongue from where his finger bled. Gross.
“You little bitch! You worthless, stupid bitch” screams Antonio as he moves to shake out his hand.
“Takes one to know one”
Growling at my snarky reply does Antonio move to raise up his hand. His hand ready to strike me from talking back to him only to stop. Deciding on pinching the bridge of his nose instead with his uninjured hand before taking a few deep breaths.
Once calm, does he move to finally sit back down. Both of us now glaring at the other until finally I find the courage to ask the million dollar question that’s been sitting on my mind since my arrival to this god awful place.
“Why me? What could you possibly want with me?”
“Well, if you had let us finish telling you the story then you would have known. But no.. You decided to pass out on us. Now pay attention and all will be revealed to you in time” chuckles Antonio, his hand moving to slap my cheek yet again.
“And if you’re a good little girl, then maybe, just maybe I won’t have to hurt you while doing it. But again, only if your good.”
Now glaring at his words does Antonio move to go back to his story, the same story that he and Lucia had been telling me the night before he went ape shit crazy on me, causing me to black out from all the pain and the sudden blood loss I had endured.
“Now then… where were we? Ah yes… I remember now… Once the boys had both been killed and brutally murdered did Dario, Stefano and Luca each move to target the other one’s family. Including the other’s businesses as well. Each of them losing substantial amounts as blood soon flooded the streets.”
Attempting not to picture the scene painted before me do I try to think of Lucus and my men. Antonio still telling me his story that somehow connected to me of all people.
“Finally then… After much turmoil, blood and heartbreak did Dario, Stefano and Luca each move to come to an agreement. A peace treaty of sorts. The treaty stating that each of them would split all the illegal stuff among all the families and each of the territories and not just among themselves. They even went as far as to create a blood oath to one another as well. The oath stating that the next son and daughter of whoever’s family to be born would be married. Joining the 3 houses together as one.”
Swallowing thickly do I begin to put the pieces together slowly. Antonio still going on with his big grand reveal. Unaware that I now knew what he was talking about. Having been told this story many of times by my father, especially when I was a child only to think of it as one fat lie. A story to scare us children into obeying their families was beginning to turn real. Very real, and fast.
“120 years later, and while neither family had been blessed with a girl, each family continued to function for peace even as turbulence stirred among many within each of the families. The families all flourishing to great heights until finally, a girl was born. The girl setting the blood oath into motion.”
Paling softly do I try not to panic, already knowing who the said girl was.
“After much debate among the families, the families decided that the tiny little girl would be destined to become the wife to four 5 year old little boys. Twin boys who were the first born sons of the Caruso crime family. Dario Manocchino and Stefano Salvatore.”
Now noticing the size of my now swollen eyes does Antonio move to smirk. Loving my reaction as he does.
“Yes sweet girl. These men are our Grandfathers. And do you know who the tiny little girl is? The one destined to marry the boys within the story? No? Why it’s you sweet girl. Your Grandfather was Luca Moretti, and he was the one who condemned you to us for all of eternity.”
