48- Pressing One’s Boundaries - Part 2

Isabella

After managing to run away, I finally find myself in front of a pair of very familiar set of doors, ones I had visited many times during my stay only to sigh. The Library. Pushing them open, I move to enter through the doors before running over to a set of glass sliding doors, remembering that a garden sat not to far from the library a garden I had only seen through the sliding doors as I move to open them, a little surprised that they actually opened before dashing out into the maze that was the garden.

Pretty, I muse my eyes taking in the sights and sounds that came with owning a garden, my eyes gazing at everything that crossed its line of sight including but not limited to trimmed bushes, clean cut grass as well as all the beautiful flowers, the sun now shining brightly within the rich blue sky as it went about it’s day without a care in the world.

Continuing onward I eventually come across a beautiful large magnolia tree, the tree large enough to offer shade as I move to sit on a bench that had been perched just beneath its leaves, my eyes scanning the area until they finally land on the forest's edge. I bet if I ran really super fast I could make it all the way into the forest and probably to the road once more. I know I can. Mind over matter. Except no matter how hard I tried or how much of a pep talk I gave myself I could not bring myself to try it, my mind now wondering why my men hadn’t taken it upon themselves to come and find me as they usually ride my ass like peanut butter and jelly.

Then as if dawning on me, I suddenly realize that they didn’t have to, the realization hitting me like a ton of bricks. My handsomely devilish men knew that no matter what I did, I could not escape them, any source of hope I might have had vanished in an instance. There not stupid, I murmur to myself, there’s not one doubt in my mind that these men didn’t take it upon themselves to upgrade the their security features since my last little stunt and if I was totally honest, I really had no clue just how big that forest even was or even how far this property ran in which I could be stuck out there all night if I truly tried.

Shivering at the thought, I begrudgingly decide to head back inside, marching back the way I came I move to reenter the sliding glass doors that connected to library not bothering to close the door as I move to exit the room, the sound of feet echoing all above me had me all but sprinting towards another room, shadows playing tricks on me as they bounced from wall to wall.

Stopping at a door, I all but enter a small sitting space, the room decorated with vintage furniture along with pictures that only one could possibly see within a museum of sorts. Deciding to explore I move to look around the room, not wanting to face Lucus and the others just yet I continue on with my search, my eyes eventually landing on a tiny trinket as it sat all alone upon an almost empty bookshelf.

Huh? What an odd piece.

Hoping to lift the item in question, I can’t help but try only to hear a small tiny click before the bookshelf moves to pop open. Blinking, I'm slowly taken aback by the small inch that was poking out from behind the shelf as my curiosity began to get the better of me, for this tiny trinket was actually a hidden lock to open the hidden space that laid behind the shelf.

No way, how cool is that? Grinning, I moved to look at the entrance before me, my body now giddy in excitement as I was totally getting spy vibes and wanted to go exploring.
Has this always been here? Curious I move to pull on the shelf watching in awe as it slowly inched closer to me, exposing a dark, damp corridor. Shut up, it has. Giggling, I move to search for a light, totally excited about this new room as I slowly spot a flashlight resting off next to the panel as if someone’s been there before.

Biting my bottom lip I move to reach for the flashlight, praying that it worked only to sigh when it turned on before slowly making my way into the creepy looking corridor, my hand reaching for the handle as I move to close it behind me, not wanting someone to realize that I found this super cool awesome room and come looking for me before I had a chance to explore it.

Once inside do I move to shine the light along the room only to notice a small yet tiny spiral staircase that looked as if it went both up and down kind of like the last one I had found as it led me down into the servants quarters.

Emily. Biting my lip again I knew that if I had a chance to see her, that Emily would be just as excited as I was the minute I said something about the secret room. Moving further I slowly began to panic as the sound of male voices could be heard coming from the wall next to me, holding my breath I move to listen to their panic now amused at what was about to happen, the sound of distant whistles now sounding off in almost every given direction.

Well, that wasn’t supposed to happen. Now it’s only a matter of time before they get even more angrier and start blaring off the alarm. Fiddlesticks. Deciding not to keep pressing one’s boundaries, especially my own, I move to explore, deciding to take the passageway and the stairs that stood before me. For maybe with some luck I would be able to seek the answers I needed in order to escape this place known as hell once and for all.
