**Alpha Javonich**
Leave it to a stupid hunter to get caught. One simple task he had to do and he managed to fuck it up, now I have to see what they have done to him or if he said anything about us working together. I knew it was a long shot for my daughter, Katie to be one of the prince's mates, but a father can only wish for the best for his kids. Even if she isn't my firstborn.
"His majesty shall see you now Alpha Janovich," a guard announced as he stepped in the waiting room I was ushered too.
I noticed how he surveyed my every move, his posture was in a defensive position like I was a threat. The stupid pup, even at my age I can easily take him down, their confidence in themselves were all due to the so-called Alpha King and Luna Queen, freaks they are using their gifts to be dominant. If it cost me my life I would get rid of their bloodline starting with their eldest Caiden, without him their bond will weaken he was the key to them all, in all the recorded strengths of the royal family he was considered the strongest.
Another plan has to be made since that hunter somehow got himself caught, at least he was wounded with enough silver to keep him in a coma. Just to get rid of that human mate of his. I followed the guard into an ante-office where the king and his son stood with their arms folded behind their backs looking at me intently. The two were so identical in every way besides their eye color, no emotion was shown in their eyes nor in their facial expression the simple show of authority. Soon they would be no more, as my nephew reported beside Caiden's injury his wolf has taken over and was on a rampage, if not tamed soon he would turn on his own family and his humanity would forever be gone.
"Your majesties," I said in my most respectful tone while bowing.
"Alpha Javonich. What a pleasant surprise. To what do we owe this visit of yours. As I recalled my sons met with you before within the past two months, is everything alright in your territory?" King Michael asked.
"Yes, it is. Thank you for asking. I was in your territory on my way to visit the Alpha of Silver Moon when I decided to see how the young prince was fearing. As I heard he came about an accident that's why he couldn't make it to our second meeting?" I asked feigning interest.
Protectiveness was evident among this family as identical smiles of indifference reached both the prince and king's faces.
Prince Angelo's gaze was so intense on me that I had to force my self to stay calm. "Ah yes. Prince Caiden is fine. He is having a bit of relaxation with his mate in their quarters." The king responded.
"He is," I blurted out. Trying to hide the shock and disbelief I repeated myself just in a more calm tone.
"Yes. Yes. Those damn hunters were to blame thought they would learn by now to leave us be but I guess they all have a death wish."
I quickly glanced to my left as I noticed Prince Angelo moving away from his father's side, this young prince has always made me uneasy even when he was younger with his all too serious green eyes. Easily he stepped behind me and stood to block the door entrance. "Uhhhh... yes. Stupid humans would never learn huh?! Even after going up against our powerful king," I said trying my best to hide my nervousness from the prince's presence behind me.
"Something wrong George?" the king asked cocking his head slightly to the side, a look his mate has given me so many times whenever I was in her presence a sign of taking pity on me in the most condescending way.
"I'm fine. Perhaps I may have a chance to see Prince Caiden? To extend my good wishes on a speedy recovery" I said shifting from side to side.
"Speedy Recovery? My son is a purebred wolf, of course, he will heal quickly, we all do, don't we?" he said sarcastically. Not with the amount of silver he was to be shot with.
A low growl was heard behind me, quickly I spun around to see Prince Angelo standing in an attack position his eyes dark I knew then his wolf was surfacing. King Michael snapped his fingers once and the prince snapped his attention to his father and calmed down a bit giving me a smug smile.
"Y-Yes that's what I meant."
"My son has asked to open our home to you and your men for the night, the journey to Silver Moon is a good way from here. I'm sure you all are tired?" Michael said.
I wanted to refuse but I found myself saying, "Of course Your majesty"
"Good. Angelo will show you to your room." He calmly said before leaving us in the office. No one spoke, well I never heard him speak, so the silence was expected.
"Thank you for your hospitality."
No response just an uncomfortable silence causing me to feel like a pup before this young one. He sniffed the air with a confused look on his face, he looked me over then turned his head slightly before standing back. I don't know what was with him but I need to find my nephew and the hunter before I proceed with what I had to do. We stood in silence with his intense gaze on me, "It's very admirable that you took over for your elder brother. I hope he knows how loved he is." I was babbling due to nerves and anxiety, why does this kid strike fear in every person he encountered.
I wasn't the only one who thought this, friends who were submitted to his monthly overview were kept on their toes willing to please him in every way in fear that he would take away their title as Alpha. The kid had permission from the elder king and his father to do anything in his favor.
He nodded in acknowledgment to my earlier statement then opened the door going out expecting me to follow which I did. Two sentinels joined us with stony expressions, they didn't greet me in any way but kept their attention on their young prince.
"Your men are already roomed you would be staying in the guest quarters. Dinner would be in three hours. You are expected to be on time. One of the help will be at your door to escort you down." One said without looking at me.
My wolf felt disrespected at the fact both of these pups disregarded our status as alpha, 'This is how they are to treat alphas other than their so-called prince and king' my wolf snapped.
"Prince Angelo, is this always tolerated?" I asked in my most polite tone. He abruptly stopped and looked at me with those cold dead eyes.
He raised his eyebrow in question, "You allow your men to disrespect an Alpha? A loyal one to the crown I may add" I sneered waiting for him to punish them in some sort of way. Angelo looked at both then walked away. "King Michael shall hear of this," I snapped at his retreating back, I saw him shrug his shoulders before he disappeared around the corner. "This way, Alpha," they both said in unison.
Safely locked in my given room I reached for my cell to give my nephew a call but no response to my past five calls, an inkling of worry came in. As I sat at the desk in my room I thought of things that may cause him not to answer. I did tell him I was coming soon after he informed me that the prince was shot and the hunter was caught. This visit was to confirm that he was close to death, something like that would have been kept under wraps until the time was right. Nick wasn't allowed in his room as he reported so the added silver that was to be injected into him couldn't happen. With no word from him and the hunter being imprisoned it was up to me.
'With the oldest prince dead it would crumble them then we can let the rogues attack at their most vulnerable time.......' My wolf said
'That would end the bloodline. Equality would finally be among us, with the rogues and hunters under our orders it won't be hard to be the only purebred alpha to take the role of the next alpha king' I finished for him.
Checking the time, two and a half more hours till dinner, I smiled and pocketed the syringe before easing out the door. It would be a hassle since I was roomed on the other side of the castle away from the family quarters. I was mindful of being seen keeping my senses wide in case of any unwanted company. Smiling to myself I gloated that my nephew gave me a virtual layout of the castle, smart kid he is didn't think I would be using his info like this.
Moving about the castle with so many helpers and sentinels around was hard but I made it to the corridor of the prince quarters. Listening for any other wolf and finding none I stepped into the dimly lit hallway and quietly approached Prince Caiden's room. The fact that there were no guards didn't set off any alarm for me since the king said he was 'well'. I didn't believe him one bit, not after the condition he was in as told by Nick, just one more shot and he is done for.
The room was dark when I entered saving for the low glow the roaring fire in the hearth. A slim figure was on the bed laying eerily still with medical equipment beeping with the indication of his heart still strong, I scoffed to myself in triumph knowing that the king was indeed lying of his son's status. Not wanting to give away my presence I crept slowly to the bed and got out the prince's arm from under the thick blanket quickly injecting the silver into him.
"And he wanted to know why we won't acknowledge an Alpha like him," a voice said in the shadows. It was familiar but couldn't place the name.
The lights came on and there stood Prince Angelo and the young royal beta Micah with smug looks on their faces.
"Its too late, runt. I just finished what I started." Inside I was freaking out but I couldn't let them break my resolve. The task was complete now all I had to do was sit back and watch as it all crumble before their eyes.
"And that was killing your own nephew?" Micah asked with raised eyebrows.
He wasn't making any sense, I just injected an amount of silver that can kill three wolves into their prince and all they wanted to do was talk. How did they know about Nick? Inwardly I shouted to myself to focus on the threat at hand. The prince didn't take his eyes off me, his wolf was ready to surface and that was the time my wolf wanted to be let out to play. Show these pups who's the dominant one.
"What nephew? I have no nephew" I snapped at them trying to throw them off but it was me who was thrown off.
"Really? So who is that in the bed?" Micah smirked. Out of sheer curiosity, I looked to the bed, my eyes widen in shock as I took in the pale lifeless body of my nephew with his neck ripped open, his arm hung over the bed from my removal. My body was frozen to the ground, it can't be.
They killed my nephew.
"No," I was able to breathe out before stumbling back blindly.
Without warning a burst of anger came through me, my wolf took over and shifted. Snapping and growling at them, I charged towards them.
"Should have done this earlier," a new voice said to me before I was flung back towards the wall with a great force I was instantly welcomed to darkness.
