13.

It has been two days since the dinner with the Saville family and Rosaline has had a clearer view of their world, mostly due to Angelo's patience and understanding with her. Their talk in the garden helped her immensely with her past conflicts but haven't truly rid her doubts about accepting Caiden. Being someone's mate meant total commitment and coming from different backgrounds Rosaline doubts they would be a perfect match it overwhelmed her to think that Caiden has already accepted her when she had nothing to offer.

Sitting on her bed at the shelter she held the phone he had sent for her looking at his contact number; she hasn't heard from him and felt a bit hurt from his lack of contact. She scrolled to Angelo's contact which he gave her on the night of the dinner and pressed the call icon. As it rang, Rosaline felt nervous about contacting them but she wanted to ease her questioning subconscious about Caiden.

The call was answered on the fourth ring with Angelo's silence.

"Hi, Angelo it's Rosa. Ummm... I... I want to know...." She stuttered and rolled her eyes at how silly she was being.

"He's fine. You shall see him soon." Was all he said. Those few words lifted a heavy weight off her shoulders. She didn't realize how worried she was about this man. This wolf prince.

"I think I can try with him." She said softly.

Angelo said nothing but a smile was on his face as he looked at his brother who was still in his deep sleep. He had a soft spot for his brother's mate and acknowledged her as his sister. She was strong and could handle this new life being thrown at her but she just needs someone to show her.

"Thank you for listening, Angelo. Caiden is lucky to have a brother like you." She said sincerely, she envied Caiden for that, having siblings loving parents, a home.

Angelo scoffed at her words before a wide grin made its way to his face. He heard her giggle on the other end and shook his head, "Give him my best. Bye Angie" she sang and ended the call. He laughed at the nickname she called him and went over to his brother's side. Their mother was seated beside him holding his hand, "You are truly wise for your age my little angel" she said smiling up at her son. Emma and Michael were forced to listen to their son's instructions on how to deal with the next princess which was hard when they knew of how dangerous it was for her not to be under their roof. Protection was doubled by their orders while they awaited further instructions from him.

Michael came in moments later and looked on at his family, kissing Angelo's head he inhaled the scent of his pup then went next to his mate looking down at his eldest boy. Though he was considered a strong and dominant king his family never saw that side of his when they were on their own. The princes and princess received an ample amount of love from their parents and it never wavered, they still revel in the small hugs and kisses from them no matter the age. It was because of them they learned how to love and was forevermore grateful.

"Is it time yet, son?" his father asked of him as they looked at Caiden.

"Yes but Cay needs to learn control of his emotions. I don't want to lose my new sister" Angelo simply said going to stand at the foot of the bed. Michael and Emma looked at him in surprise in which he simply shrugged. Everyone knew of his tendencies, he has never accepted anyone outside his family nor had he spoken a lot to them only when seem relevant.

Emma called her daughter and put her on speaker, "Are you, ready brother?" Rebecca answered concern for Caiden was evident in her voice.

"Yes Becca," he said focusing on his older brother.

"Awake" Angelo commanded. Caiden awoke taking in a deep breath he laid back on the bed still looking at the ceiling in confusion. Angelo took that opportunity to look into his memories of that night and all the painful ones that lead to it then erased them only leaving the last one of finding Rosa.

"Rosaline" he whispered then turned to look at his parents. "Mama? Dad?" he asked in confusion.

They looked at him and smiled at him sadly. "I lost control again didn't I?" he asked sitting upright. They all nodded. "Is he okay?" they heard Rebecca asked out loud, Caiden smiled at the sound of his sister's voice he missed her terribly.

"Yes, Becca I'm fine. Are you home?" he asked. "Yup. Mama and daddy would explain. See you soon" she said hanging up.

"Angelo?" Emma said turning to him. He knew what she was asking for and nodded in reply, Michael and Emma left after kissing their son goodbye leaving him in the hands of his brother.

Angelo took a seat in the single armchair in the corner of the room and watched as his brother got out of bed to stretch his limbs.

"Who did I hurt?" Caiden asked softly. Angelo gave him a weak smile, he paused his eyes widen in fear thinking of what happened last time when he lost control.

"No," Angelo said sharply.

"Thank goddess." He breathed out.

Caiden quickly visited the bathroom for a quick shower then back out. He sat in a chair opposite his brother and waited for him to begin.

"First thing first, you need to take things slow from now on," Angelo said in a sharp tone

For his brother to be like this, Caiden knew that he have learned something very bad about someone and he had an inkling of who it was.

"Are you sure about this?" I asked him.

"Yes sir. It's all there in writing and our sources were very willing to give us this info" he said smirking.

I looked down at the folder, her brown eyes looked up at me holding me in a trance, those eyes I truly missed and now I found her after all these years. From state to state I have had my men search every nook and cranny for any sighting or information on her whereabouts. All I have to do is get her out of this place before they have her fully.

She won't be theirs.
