"I will pick you up after work. If you need anything don't hesitate to call me. Alright," Caiden said to his mate while holding her hand in his. It felt good waking up beside her earlier, to have her in his arms that sort of intimacy was what he craved and now he can finally have it.

"Okay." She said quietly but she made no movement to leave the car. She held his hand tighter not wanting to leave his side just yet. Caiden sensed her reluctance and quickly pulled her across the console onto his lap. "I'm yours. Don't let the words of that girl make you think any different. When I submitted to you last night I gave you my love, my loyalty, and my heart. I will never leave you" he said against her neck as she held on to him. Unless you ask me too, he said to himself. After a few stolen kisses, Rosaline left the comfort of the car and went into the shop.

"Good morning" she called out making her way to the backroom. There she found Mrs. Winchester and Shawna drinking coffee, "Morning dear" Mrs. Winchester greeted her kindly, Shawna simply ignored her but Rosaline didn't mind. As she was about to go start her morning duties her boss beckoned her to the back office, slowly she turned to face her, Shawna rose from the table and walked towards her. "Not all good things last, sweetheart" she muttered as she brushed past Rosaline.

"Come have a seat," Mrs. Winchester said in a serious tone. Rosaline did as she was told taking the seat opposite her. "I will get straight to the point. The situation between my niece and yourself was very much embarrassing as it was public and had many witnesses. I won't tolerate that such behavior in my business that's why I'm letting you go. You would still get your full paycheck and also Eva's for the time that she worked. I'm sorry, sweetheart."

Rosaline sat looking at her boss then started to laugh humorlessly. "So I guess you didn't see or hear the part where your niece much less insulted me because of my current status. Or is it the fact that Caiden Saville has found interest in me and not your oh-so-lovely niece. Thank you for the job and keep the paycheck. You may need it with the attitude of your niece. Good day, Mrs. Winchester" she said calmly but inside she was fuming. Angry that she lost the only job she felt comfortable because of some blonde-haired slut. Grabbing her bag she stormed out to the front of the store where Shawna was leaning idly against the check out counter a smirk was placed on her lips as Rosaline left the shop.

Outside on the sidewalk, she tried to think of what to do next, where to go, it was too early to go back at the shelter, going to Caiden now she would feel dependent on him and that wasn't her. Groaning in frustration she decided to go to the nearest park which was two blocks away, plugging in her headset and putting her phone on silent she took the bus to the park getting lost in her thoughts. Caiden's words last night came back to play unconsciously she smiled remembering how sincere his words were and the love shone from his eyes. Those same words were said to her years ago but it was different she should have known that it was all lies.
Being seventeen and alone wasn't easy all, especially for an orphan with no family and no home to call her own she wanted, was someone to love her and care for her, she thought she had that with Stephen McCoy. The typical boy next door with blue eyes any girl would fall for and that Rosaline did. She was over the moon that she caught his attention, he complimented her on everything, showered her with gifts, showed her off among his friends. It was at a college party he had been invited to and begged her to come along so they can spend some time away from their friends, in reality, it was his friends. Rosaline wasn't allowed to have friends as he said but she didn't care as long as she had him in her life.

When they arrived at the party it was nothing she expected, kids were already drunk few in corners doing drugs while others were having a good time with either dancing or making out in a corner. He introduced her to his college friend Patrick who was the host of the party, the look he gave her was enough to tell her something was up but she ignored it as Stephen brushed it off as him being drunk. After a few drinks too many Stephen led her up to a room for her to rest, she knew the drinks he gave her had alcohol and took them cautiously but it still got her a bit tipsy. "You know I love you right Rosie. You're the best thing that ever happen to me," Stephen said kissing her head. Her eyes were getting heavy but she was still able to make out his words clearly. "Love you too Stevie. So much" she said to him. She heard the door open but her body wasn't co-operating to move to the sound to see who entered the room.

"A nice pick bro," a voice said. Stephen held on to her hand tighter as she felt someone touch her bare legs. Their touch felt disgusting, her mind was on alert but not her body "Stevie?" she called out.
"I'm sorry" was all he said before both her hands were held above her head and her legs were held apart too. Opening her eyes it was a bit blurry but she was able to see Patrick at the foot of the bed undressing, Stephen was beside the bed with his head turned that's when she noticed the other three guys.
"Stephen please don't let them do this. Please," she cried out to him. The men who held her down began touching her breasts and intimate areas, tears flowed down her cheek as she tried to struggle out of their hold. Patrick began to straddle her kissing her roughly she bit his lip to her surprise he struck her across her face. He held her by her neck with one hand and used the other to touch her feminine folds. Patrick roughly pushed in two fingers, she screamed out in pain.

"Stop, please. Please don't do this," she cried out and looking for Stephen but he didn't come to her rescue.

Patrick slapped her, again and again, telling her to be quiet as he continued his painful ministrations. With all her weak struggles one of her hands got free and she used it to lash out her attacker.

"That wasn't very nice" he sneered.

They took her off the bed holding her hands behind her back, tears blurred her vision as they ripped her dress and began all over again with their painful fondling.

"Stephen. Why?" she cried out weakly.

"Stephen can't help you right now. After all, there's no refund on payments to me, if he wants to keep all that cash he gotta give up something right?" Patrick said in her ear holding her tightly again by her neck.

She felt his member pressed against her butt. She tried to move away but he held her in place tightening his hold on her neck.

"Stephen, don't you want to see what a good choice you made. A fucking virgin" a voice said beside her.

"Please." She whimpered as she was bent forward, that's when she saw him.

His eyes were cold as he held her gaze, he didn't move to help her nor did he show any ounce of regret.

Rosaline was brought back into reality as a sharp pain coursed through her body. She screamed out begging Patrick to stop but he didn't he kept pounding into her tight hole, one hand still around her neck while the other was squeezing her breasts. Another man had his finger in her pussy and kissing her body, Patrick got rougher his hands got tighter around her neck, her vision was getting darker.

"Rick stop, something is wrong" was the last thing she heard from Stephen before she blacked out.

The next morning she woke up on the steps of the shelter she was currently residing at, her body was bruised and sore, memories of the night were fresh in her mind all she did was act as nothing happened. She was broken. The only guy she ever loved and trusted ruined her. That day she became distant with everyone and trust was never given to another.

Wiping a tear that escaped her eyes, Rosaline walked around the park aimlessly before sitting on a bench as the tears flowed freely. She hated that her past is affecting her relationship with Caiden. She wanted to love him and not be afraid that he would hurt her worse than Stephen. Every time he tells her how much he loves her she felt guilty of not being able to return the same honest endearment. To have a guy like him, she was really lucky, and to lose him would be the death of her heart; but how? How can she start to love him when her fears are trying to take over?

"Are you okay sweet girl?" a voice said beside her.

"I'm fine. Just a bad day." She said wiping away her tears quickly to give the newcomer a shy smile. The man smiled down at her and she instantly remembered him from the coffee shop.

"That boyfriend of yours upset you," he asked raising an eyebrow. Rosaline laughed and tried to imagine Caiden doing something to upset her, "I don't think my Denny would be capable of such a thing. If he did he would fix it in a flash" she said with a bright smile.

"Oh. Then a beautiful girl like you shouldn't be crying. A smile should always be on that face brightening those lovely eyes as yours" he said.

Rosaline blushed, hiding her face, his words didn't come out as creepy but yet comforting. "What's your name? You always come into the coffee shop and order the same thing" she asked boldly.

"I'm Reynaldo and you are Rosaline right?" he said watching how relaxed she got. She nodded in response as she gazed off into the distance. Reynaldo watched her closely as she began to twirl her hair around her finger as a smile curved her lips. She reminded him so much of his Bianca, her mother.

"This may seem bold but from who did you inherit those beautiful eyes from," he asked.

Rosaline shrugged "I don't know. I can't remember my parents but I would like to guess my mother," She answered with a twinge of bitterness.

"My wife had the same color eyes as yours when I looked into them I could of tell how she was feeling. If she was sad or happy even in pain."

Rosaline saw how sad he was by talking about his wife. "Where is she now?" she asked softly.

Reynaldo contemplated about what to tell her, have they told her about werewolves and hunters, have they even bring it to her knowledge about their kind. "She died a few years ago that same night I lost my daughter," he said looking away. The vision of Bianca's bloody body was burned into his mind, it never left. It was always there to remind him why he was doing this crusade. Now he has found his daughter he would do anything to stop those mutts from taking away another piece of him. Not his Rosaline.

"I won't say sorry for your loss because that's what you would always hear." She said giving him a warm smile.

"Right you are" he chuckled. They sat in comfortable silence before she broke it with a question. "Have we met before? I mean besides the coffee shop" she asked. It has been nagging at her that this man was more than a stranger to her.

"Kid. You won't believe me if I told ya" he answered her while laughing at her confused look. Reynaldo didn't want to reveal to her that he was her father just yet, he just wanted to get to know her more for the little time they have.

**********

"Found her. Two blocks east." Seth reported to Caiden. After back-to-back meetings with new clients, he thought it would have been a great idea to surprise his mate at work but didn't know it was he who would be surprised. It took everything in him not to strangle the fake blonde in front of him after she informed him Rosaline was fired in which she also had the guts to openly flirt with him. He knew something like that would happen but thought the elderly lady saw through her niece's act. Women like her were one of the reasons he kept himself busy with work and away from their regular social sites. It took them ten minutes to pinpoint her exact location and another ten to get there. Caiden and his wolf were on edge, she wasn't answering his calls, no one was in the area on foot and the park she was in frequented with rogue wolves and vampires. The thought of her being in danger didn't settle well with him he was on edge and just wanted to shift and run to her.

Upon their arrival he didn't wait for the car to come to a complete stop, he quickly got out and followed her scent, he got calmer as it got stronger. He just wanted to hold her in his arms and shut them away from the world if it can keep her safe from the world. A familiar scent made his steps falter, 'Hunter,' his wolf warned him. He quickly warned his men that a hunter was present and to be on alert. Nicky and Seth flanked his side and they continued to the path to their princess. Caiden released a low growl as he saw her sitting with another man laughing and talking like old friends, not wanting her to see him like this he pleaded with Rion to calm down.

"Rosaline?" he called out. Her head shot up from the animated conversation, the bright smile that always made him feel loved made its way to her face. "Caiden" she squealed running towards him, he easily caught her in his arms. Inhaling her scent as he nuzzled his face into her neck. "You scared me, baby." He mumbled kissing her neck.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to but I'm okay" she said leaning back to look at him. He couldn't hold it back anymore, without warning he crashed his lips onto hers she released a satisfied groan as she matched his kiss with the same passion he was showing her. Their tongues dueled for dominance, he ran his fingers through her hair as his kisses trailed alongside her jaw to her neck. Lifting her to his waist he turned away from the man on the bench then slowly ended their kiss. "Love, go back to the car with the guys I will be there shortly. I want to thank this man for keeping you company" he said stroking her cheek lovingly. She nodded with glazed over eyes as Seth took to her side while Nicky took the other. Caiden waited until they took her out of sight and earshot to turn around to the man.

Rion was out and angry as hell.

"Hunter. When my human spared your life yesterday it wasn't an invitation to have unexpected visits to our mate," Caiden's wolf said dangerously.

Reynaldo watched as the alpha king's eyes turned from grey to black his voice has gotten deeper than how he spoke to Rosaline. "Unexpected? I was just walking minding my own business when I saw your 'mate' sitting alone in this dangerous park. You may think a mutt would know to keep his woman in his sight at all times" he sneered. Rion took hold of the hunter's body freezing him to the spot, his eyes widen in fear. Rion allowed Caiden back control. He slowly approached the man and began circling him. "This is a warning hunter. Stay away from her. I do not want you within a 10feet radius of her. If I see you again I won't hesitate to kill you on spot" Caiden growled in Reynaldo's ear.

He began to gasp for air as Caiden slowly squeezed his airways. "Not unless I'm a threat to you. You know the rules, your majesty" Reynaldo wheezed out. In frustration he threw Reynaldo a few feet away from him, "Just stay away from her" he shouted in anger.

"She won't be yours for long. She doesn't belong to you Caiden. " Reynaldo wheezed out.

Caiden turned the hunter's words over in his head trying to make sense to it. Rosaline was his mate, of course, she belonged to him and that won't change.

"That's where you are wrong." Caiden said walking away.

"We will show you mutt," Reynaldo said.
