"You ready cousin?" Caleb asked, Emma, nodded in response. All three stood by the entrance of the basement behind the shield. They listened for anyone but all that was heard were shouts of panic and cries of sadness from distant rooms throughout the house.
'He'll come for us anytime now. Knowing my father, he loves to control and whatever happened out there on the battlefield was not expected' Caleb said to Emma through their link.
She didn't respond but took the first initiative in stopping Malcolm.
Taking out the remaining of his followers.
With ease, she darkened the skies, which would alert Malcolm of their release also to reassure her family that they are alive. The flashing of lightning and the loud cracks of thunder pealed through the skies all this was focused above the house, Emma made sure of this, she was making a beacon of help. Footsteps were heard making their way to the trio, Aiden shifted and took his place next to his friend. Caleb was deathly calm waiting to strike.
"What the...." A woman yelled as she broke the corner and came upon them. Without remorse or any question asked Caleb struck her with an energy ball. He turned to his cousin, Arion was in control of him. His eyes were dark with a minor fleck of green. His wolf was welcomed by Emma as they made their way through the hallway.
One by one wolf, human, and vampire came toward them in full attack mode and with ease, they cut through the oncoming feral followers of the banished prince.
'Take down your shield. Release Aiden.' Alia told Emma.
'No. They will kill him, Alia.' She replied frantically and glanced at Aiden who moved with every ounce of Alpha power beside her.
'He's going to be alright.' Arion said to her. With a heavy heart she took down the shield, "Go Aiden" she shouted. He barked in resistance, he was denying her order. A wolf was about to lunge for her full-on but he intercepted the rogue in attacking him with full force biting down on his neck and viciously ripping out his jugular. Blood matted his snout. He turned and barked at her to pay attention.
A hunter and vamp were coming towards them Emma sent them backward with a flick of her wrists then finished them off with bolts of lightning coursing through their bodies.
'Make a headway to the door' Emma said to Caleb while hitting a vampire with a force field who was about to attack him.
She turned away from her cousin to face the oncoming men rushing behind them, Aiden quickly placed himself between the attackers and her, swiping at the rogue in front of him. He barked at her to move, she hesitated not wanting to leave him to his death.
"NO!" she shouted in sheer terror. She took hold of the ten attackers before them, the men were frozen in mid-air, their bodies eerily still. At the motion of her fists, she clenched them tighter, they were gasping for air, they couldn't move a muscle as they were trying to fight the invisible hold to save themselves. The power in which was now showing through the princess was once the dormant power the Moon Goddess knew her child possessed but needed just a little boost.
"Aiden for the last time. By order of your princess, go to safety now" Emma commanded. Aiden was frozen at what he was witnessing and by the powerful voice that he heard from his friend.
"You should listen to your princess Aiden," a voice said from behind the wall. He growled at the direction of the voice, his hackles rose as Heather stepped out calmly. She looked at the damage Emma caused, she visibly flinched then quickly covered it up with a haughty smile.
"Go away pup before you end up like your friends here" Emma growled at her. Caleb rushed to the little gathering that was happening, one look at his cousin and you can certainly tell this was no longer the quiet princess they all knew.
This was a powerful, controlled royal in human form. Alia has taken over while Emma was accepting her gifts that have been matured.
"I don't think I take orders from a runt like you," she said shifting into her small brown wolf.
Emma scoffed looking down at the puny she-wolf who wants to please her master by killing her. Caleb shifted into his dark grey and white wolf to defend the princess but was halted by a shield she created in which she did the same for Aiden.
The men who were on the brink of death suddenly screamed in pain as she tightens her hold on them, without warning Emma dropped them to the floor not before seeing their bodies erupted in fire.
"Mate." The reverent word escaped her lips turning to the direction she sensed him. Her whole body relaxed, Alia purred in delight. He's here.
In came Michael, fire wrapped around his forearms, the twins flanked his sides in wolf form, his eyes faded from the dark of his wolf's to his natural icy blue ones as he set eyes upon his mate. Every emotion he felt was seen in his eyes, "Emma" he breathed out. His body that was once tense now visibly relaxed, when they saw the skies darkening outside of the house they did not know which to believe if it was truly Emma or it was Malcolm's doing with his dark power.
Everything and everyone around them ceased to exist as they held each other's gaze. "My princess," he said moving towards her, she followed his action with arms stretched forth. Michael closed the distance between them enveloping her into his arms, embracing the warmth of her body, listening to her steady heartbeat, inhaling her new scent. He froze then dropped to his knees. "Is Zane right? You're pregnant?" Michael asked upon a whisper. Biting her lip she nodded yes, "Oh baby. Thank you" he said, his voice was breaking. Michael was forever happy knowing she was alive and their future is here. A pup. A result of their love. "I love you so much, Emma." He said to her in reverence. His words touched her heart deeply, her breath caught in her throat as she looked down at this powerful wolf on his knees pledging his love for her in the midst of all this chaos. "I...." she began to say.
"How sweet," a dark voice said interrupting whatever Emma was about to say.
Michael got to his feet quickly and stood before his mate shielding her from any danger that was about to come.
Malcolm came waltzing in with his beta behind him who had two guns focus on everyone present in the room. "We meet again young prince. You are one hard wolf to find" he said continuing his walk without warning he threw Noah and Jonah out the house. The sounds of breaking glass and wood were heard followed by the heavy thuds of the twins falling to the ground outside.
In one quick move, his beta shot Aiden who luckily moved as the bullet was lodged in his right paw. Emma quickly held onto Michael and shielded them both. "Aiden" she screamed as Caleb put up his shield over himself and Aiden. Heather was circling them, her brown wolf snapping and growling at them.
"That's sweet, son but purely weak. Just like your filthy worthless mother" Malcolm spat.
Caleb was trying very hard to not let his father get to him but the hurtful words of his mother cut him deeply.
"She was your mate, you bastard" Caleb yelled throwing an energy ball to his father.
Malcolm deflected it to the wall, Heather lunged towards Emma and Michael trying to break the shield.
"It's a shield you idiot," Emma shouted at Heather who growled aggressively at her.
"Deal with her. I'm going to help Caleb with his daddy issues" Michael said kissing Emma's temple as she held Heather's hateful gaze.
"Gladly," she said to him. The shield was removed and Emma shifted into her white wolf, towering over Heather. The brown she-wolf was very much intimidated by the powerful wolf in front of her; the fight between wolf and human was seen in its eyes and body language. Alia stalked the smaller wolf, making her much more intimidated, Alia didn't want to hurt the wolf only teach her human some respect. Heather wanted to fight but had little control over the wolf as a whole. As she stepped toward Heather once more she was attacked blindly. A grey wolf pinned her down with his fangs bared, he was about to attack again but he was thrown off with a fireball hitting him on his hind leg but that didn't stop him because he was up again.
'Be careful my love' Michael said to his mate focusing on keeping Malcolm away from his son.
'You too, baby' she said as he was thrown through a wall by Malcolm. Emma knew he would be alright and brought her focus back to the two wolves coming towards her. Heather wasn't a threat.
The beta wolf was.
