Emma ignored Heather and put her main focus on the grey beta wolf, as anticipated he made the first move. A much-expected move which she learned from her brothers back at Moon Dust, the through and through, he was aiming for her jugular but she ran and met him head along launching her self above him digging deep into his back with her sharp claws. A painful whine escaped the wolf, it brought him down to the ground for a moment.
Emma turned sharply to see Heather running towards her in full attack mode, she had no fighting form and she was doing it all on emotion which clouds your judgment.
Emma dodged her attack and bit sharply into her hind leg bring her down with a crash into some furniture. Heather cried loudly, it was both herself and wolf. Emma went back to the beta and launching herself towards him, biting into his weak spot, the same leg Michael injured him earlier, with a practiced speed she brought him down clawing at his front legs then neck. He tried to get up but his wounds were too bad and not healing quickly.
Without the attention of Emma on her, Heather edged closer and bit Emma on her tail, a loud growl was heard throughout the room. Alia was pissed at the cowardly move she made and pounced on her, viciously biting the little wolf all over her body but not once near her jugular to kill her instantly. Heather was severely hurt and getting weaker as she fought back but wasn't near to placing a fight wound on Emma. She called out to her mate hoping with what left of their bond he would come to her rescue.
Caleb heard the cries of his mate's wolf and stopped amidst the fight between his father and himself.
"She needs your help son. Your mate. Can't you see what your precious cousin is doing to the wolf you're destined for," Malcolm taunted holding his arm that was burned by Michael's attack. Caleb and his wolf were conflicted about what to do. Should he help the mate he longed for? Or let her meet her death for all she has done to him, the pain she put them through. Michael struggled to stand from crashing into a wall due to Malcolm's untimely hit, he watched on as Caleb fought with himself. Heather shifted back to human form bleeding from her wounds. "Caleb please help me" she cried clutching her stomach. Emma was still in her wolf form. 'She hurt you. I can't let her hurt you again.' Emma said to her cousin.
"Please baby. I need you. I'm sorry that I rejected you. I... I love you" Heather cried out once more, slowly dragging herself closer to Caleb.
"Come on son. Listen to your mate. Go to her. Do you want to live a life without her? Do you want to sit in the shadows of your dear cousin who would be with her mate and her family? Come, home son. This is where you belong" Malcolm said stepping towards him. Emma let out a warning growl.
Malcolm pushed her away further into the room, that one action snapped Caleb out of his reverie. Michael created a barrier of fire around Malcolm in sheer anger allowing it to slowly get smaller. "Emma. Can you hear me?" Michael shouted at his mate.
A loud blast and screams were heard in the room Malcolm thrown Emma, Caleb felt it before his cousin came into his view. "Michael. You need to step away. NOW" Caleb said getting closer to his father.
The shy prince was now commanding even to the future king, Michael knew not to argue with him as he saw how powerful his voice became and his aura that surrounded him. Emma stepped into the room, her eyes glowing, her aura also was strong, Michael stepped away but kept the barrier of fire up.
Malcolm grew angrier and even much more frustrated about being trapped. He tried pushing the fire into a path for him to escape but the barrier kept falling back in place. "Caleb LET ME OUT OF HERE" he shouted pushing at the barriers once more. Emma smiled at her mate, who quickly obliged and stepped back, the removal was unexpected to Malcolm. With his momentary shock, Emma took hold of him and threw him threw the window, he cleared through a tree and a few bushes. He didn't stay down for long, he got up clearing away the bushes stalking back towards the house. Caleb threw a few energy balls towards him but he easily deflected.
The twins were a good distance away from the commotion but were still unconscious; Emma and Caleb stood a good distance away from Malcolm as he glared at them angrily; Michael stood to their left not interfering. The fight was left to the three, he knew this but still feared for them especially his unborn pup.
They sensed the arrival of Landon along with the vampire Kings. Michael looked for his father among them but only saw his beta and his brother, they both refused to meet his eyes he brushed off their actions on them being focused to the showdown they all have been anticipating.
"Looks like we have an audience. Why don't we give them a show? In the end, they would all see who deserves to rule," Malcolm sneered.
Caleb and Emma growled at his words, they circled him waiting for him to attack he didn't at first but grew annoyed at their patience. He attacked Emma first sending her a few feet away. Caleb attacked with an energy ball but his father deflected it sending it into the nearby woods causing a minor explosion.
"Baby girl" Landon shouted making an effort to go to her side. 'Michael. Don't let him come near' she said to her mate. Michael created a circular barrier around them causing everyone to step back, 'They have to do this by themselves, sir' Michael said to Landon.
"I would not lose her again to your madness uncle" he shouted to Malcolm.
"Just finishing what I started nephew," he returned shouting over the screams of the prince and princess as they hit the ground harshly after his attack.
'You two can do this. This is no longer about revenge.....' Alia said. 'It's about protecting your people. Your family.' Arion said. Their wolves spoke to them encouragingly reminding them both how bonded they all are in spirit and by blood.
Gritting her teeth in pain as she forced herself to stand, the skies darkened once more, winds began to get violent, swirling above everyone's heads bringing the clouds into their movements. Caleb attacked his father which sent him to the edges of the fiery barrier causing burns on his arms. Malcolm yelled out in agony.
'Caleb. We must do it now I can't hold out any longer' Emma said to her cousin weakly.
Malcolm knocked Emma back down, followed with Caleb rolling next to her clutching his arm in pain. Emma screamed out in pain as a sharp rock dug into her side as she hit the ground.
Michael felt his mate's pain and fell to the ground. Something else was wrong with her.
Emma looked down to her side, a broken piece of the branch was sticking out of her stomach, the wound was healing slowly around the branch.
'Alia. Is he alright? Is the pup alright' she asked of her wolf but no response.
"The powerful princess is down. What would your people think when you die by my hands" Malcolm shouted at the two as he got up looking at the damage that was caused by the fire.
I can do this, Emma said to herself and grabbed hold of the branch. She breathed in deeply, Caleb was groaning in pain as he sat upright creating a shield around them when he saw his father approaching them.
"You gotta pull it out for me Caleb," Emma said focusing on taking away the pain from the bond to Michael. She heard his cries of pain but more his questions of concern for her and his pup. Caleb looked down at his cousin fear filled his eyes. "You will bleed out" he shouted.
"I won't. Do it. NOW" she shouted. Without hesitation he pulled it out swiftly, Emma let out an ear-piercing scream. Michael held where the pain emanated from calling out for his mate.
"EMMA!!! EMMA!!!!" Landon yelled in fear. Mason fell to his knees breathing heavily as he felt the pain of his Alpha and Luna it was too much, the wolves all felt it all. The pain from her wounds. The fear of the prince as he wondered if she's alive still.
Caleb looked down at Emma, she was pale and looked weak her hands were covered with her own blood. She was bleeding out but not heavily, a trickle of blood lined the corner of mouth, the branch did a lot of damage inside more than outside.
"Emmy, can you hear me?" Caleb said holding his hand over the wound trying to take some of the pain away from her and Michael.
"Where is... he?" she asked hoarsely.
"Outside of the shield he's trying to break it. Its weakening" he said swallowing as a wave of pain hit him.
"Stand me up and hold me," she asked of him.
He hesitated but Alia and Arion told him to do so also. Reluctantly he did so, Emma leaned against him as he awaited her instructions.
"Now" she whispered as Malcolm paused in his attacking.
Emma threw him 5 feet away from them, Caleb sent three energy balls towards him all at once which hit him at different parts of his body. He was screaming in pain on the ground, the electricity in the attack coursed through his body.
The swirling dark clouds above them began getting wilder, lightning flashed through the clouds, "You ready?" she whispered as she showed him what to do over their link.
He nodded. "Goodbye father" he whispered creating a large energy ball throwing it to the clouds. A mixture of the dark clouds, the electrifying white of the lightning and Caleb's energy hovered above Malcolm; Emma manipulated the winds and caught Michael's flames and added it to the captivating mixture of power above the banished prince.
Malcolm's eyes widen in fear, he called out to his son to help him but his call went to deaf ears, trying to deflect the mass away from him but failed. In one swift move and all the energy she had to offer, Emma brought it all down on him.
His screams were heard throughout the forest, the force that Emma used was more than she expected, Michael's flames extinguished as the force pushed everyone back feet away. Caleb protectively blocked his cousin from the gust that pushed them backward. They rolled then stopped with Emma still in his arms. "It's over" she whispered.
Caleb held her closely and sat up brushing the strands of brown hair away from her now green eyes. He looked at the spot where his father laid, nothing but charred remains of his body was seen, tears rolled down his face. They had to do it to live a life free of fear and tyranny. A life of peace.
"EMMA!!! EMMA!!! " Voices called out to her but she didn't move towards the sound.
Michael and Landon were the first to reach them, her mate took her into his arms and showered kisses over her face telling her how much he loved her and everything is alright now.
Emma said nothing to him but held on to his hand reveling in the sparks of their connection, Michael looked down at his mate, his princess, the woman whom he would spend the rest of his life with.
A soft smile played across her lips as she looked up at him, Landon knelt down beside them by then the surviving wolves of the kingdom and their allies formed a circle around them.
"Baby girl, its daddy. Say something to us. You're scaring us, sweetheart. Please baby girl. I'm so proud of you both. Just say that you're alright" Landon cried kissing his daughter's head. He listened to her heartbeat it was getting fainter, the smell of blood was getting stronger. Landon looked down to her stomach and growled loudly, "Get the pack doctor NOW" he shouted. He then looked over to Michael with sad eyes that told the young prince everything.
"No. No. No. She promised," Michael said denying what Landon was trying to say.
"Love. Please don't leave me. You promised that you would be by my side till the end. You and I remember. I'm sorry for not being able to protect you but I promise I would be a better mate. I will love you more. Give you the world baby I promise, just stay awake. Please fight this I can't lose you, Emma. Please. I beg of you. I can't do this without you." Michael cried holding her closer, her hand got loose in his. She turned her head to meet his lips which he captured, their bond was getting weaker her heartbeat was slower.
'I love you. Now....and forever. She said over their link.
"I love you too now and forever, just hold on the doctor is coming. Please, Emma. Please" he cried rocking them back and forth.
"Please, Moon Goddess let me keep my mate." Michael cried out to the skies.
"Emmy?" Mason called out.
They all looked at the limp form of their princess, not moving, her eyes fluttered closed. Michael froze with her in his arms. "Love?" he whispered, "Please don't leave me."
Those were the last words Emma heard from her mate before succumbing to the calls of darkness.
