Chapter 37

**ARIA**

While the boys are interrogating the prisoners I go back to the diaries that Rosalie gave me. The more I go on, the more I am fascinated by this incredible story. The mating process didn’t really happen the same way for them as for us because Dimitri was a vampire, not a hybrid. In their relationship, only Christina was a hybrid, but both men bit each other to become one as well.

*We finally arrived in Europe and had to flee the United States because we were in danger. The news of our new condition panicked people, especially werewolves. James had to abandon his pack and I felt his despair and pain when he did so. He had our support in dealing with this. Since Dimitri and James bit each other, they have become closer, like brothers, and I am relieved that I am no longer in the middle of their feud.
Just before I left the country, I found out I was pregnant and I didn’t have time to tell them that my two men had already seen it. There will soon be four of us and I can’t help but worry about my child. I have no idea what to expect and it makes me nervous. One thing is for sure, this child will get all the love he needs from his two dads and his mom.
Dimitri’s family welcomed us as his, his cousin Raya is adorable and she is helping me a lot to prepare the birth of my baby. She has three children of her own, who unfortunately are not with her. Who knows, I might have the opportunity to meet them soon.*

What is the probability that there is another Raya, other than Adam’s mother, who is a vampire and has three children?

If it is really her, it means that she knew that there were other hybrids and she did not tell her children. Unfortunately I can’t talk to her about it because she’s not in the palace right now. I pause the journal and decide to explore the palace.

The people I meet are very nice and they all greet me with a big smile. My stomach starts to rumble and while I try to remember the way to the kitchen, I find Alex, hands full of food.

“I see you’ll be able to help me.”

“A little hungry?” He asks me with a smirk. “Follow me.”

We turn around and walk into a large kitchen. He takes me around the cupboards and tells me to help myself to as much as I want. As I make myself a sandwich, he sits down on a stool and starts eating.

“You don’t have to stay here. You must have a lot of work to do.” I tell him.

“Honestly, I was planning to eat in my office because I was all alone but now I have company.” He winks at me.

As I start to eat my sandwich I quickly realize that it won’t be enough for me. I am starving. Once my sandwich is finished I get up and start making myself a second sandwich.

“You’re starting to feel the effects.” Alex tells me as I eat. “Your body assimilating the bites.” I look at him with a raised eyebrow and he continues. “Everyone knows that you have completed the mating process. We all felt it, you are one of us now, you belong to our pack. Soon you will be able to shift and talk to us via mindlink. And if one day you return to Austin’s pack, he will make you part of his pack too.”

“Why do you say “if”? I ask confused.

“Because I tracked the number that sent you the message. I don’t know who it is, but I know that this person was in the Moonlight Pack.”

“Wait. You’re telling me that the person who brought me here knows us.”

“There’s a chance. I’m waiting for them to finish with the interrogations before I tell them.”

We then continue to eat lunch in silence. I don’t know how Austin will react to the news, but I’d hate to be the person who did this wrong.

**AUSTIN**

I had a bad fucking feeling since Garret’s call but now I know I have no choice, I have to go back to the pack tomorrow.

“Do you think it’s David?” Aria asks me snapping me out of my thoughts.

The three of us are in Adam’s office where we have isolated ourselves to discuss our plan of action. Alex had already come to her so I was forced to tell her everything.

“I’d really like to think not but I honestly don’t know. Since we got into it last time...” I gasp loudly.

“Just because you guys had a fight doesn’t mean he’d be willing to set a trap like that for us.” Aria reassures me.

“She’s right. To do something like that you’d have to be really inconsiderate and he’s just like your brother.” Adam adds.

I get up from my chair and walk over to the big window. It’s already dark and from here we can’t even see the walls. This place could almost pass for peaceful.

“I think you’ll be safer here.” I say to Aria without looking at her.

She grunts. “Why does it have to be so complicated? I just wish I could be with you two.”

“I know but the most important thing is your safety and besides you should start feeling your wolf and you’ll need to have someone taking care of you.” I add.

“He’s right.” Adam simply confirms.

“I wanted to ask Rosalie to come here if you don’t mind.” I say to Adam as I turn around this time.

“No problem. She’s welcome and she can help Aria with her transformation, answer her questions...”

“Aria is here. So stop talking about me like I’m not.” She gets angry and walks out of the office, slamming the door.

“That damn temper!” I growl and Adam laughs out loud.
