Chapter 9

**ADAM**

As I look out the window, I think back to Aria’s face the last time I saw her. They drugged her and took her away and I couldn’t stop them. Now my mate is in their territory and I can’t go after her. I have to find a way to get her out so I can talk to her. Go figure out what they’re going to tell her about me. They already think I had something to do with the attack on their pack and now that their alpha knows I have a connection to her, he’s going to do everything he can to mark her first. I have to do my best to stop him.

“I don’t like seeing you with that scowl on your face.” Leila says behind me.

I turn around to face her. “If you were me you would look the same, trust me.”

“I still can’t figure out how you got yourself into a mess like this. All because of Rachel.” She snorts. “It’s a good thing they got to her before I did, because if I had...”

“It’s going to be hard to get close to Aria now that their Alpha thinks I’m mixed up in this.” I cut her off.

“You were involved. At least not the way they think.” She sighs. “Brother, I know you’ll figure it out. You always find a way.” She says before leaving the room and closing the door behind her.

I know she is right and now that I have found it I refuse to give up on her. Adam, dig into your head and find a way to lure her out of the pack. I never thought I would have a mate so I can’t give her up. The goddess of the moon wanted to play me by giving me a poisoned gift, she offers me a mate but she also gives her to another. I am afraid that Aria will never want me when she knows my true nature.

There is a knock at the door, pushing me out of my thoughts.

“Come in!” I shout.

“It’s me. I just got back and Leila is telling me what happened while I was gone.” Sasha says to me as he enters my office. He slumps down on the chair in front of me. “Talk about a story. Maybe we’re not so cursed after all.”

“Are you sure you heard things the way they happened?” I ask him, raising an eyebrow.

“What, you mean the other one, the alpha? We both know we’re superior, brother.” He runs a hand through his hair. “You could’ve taken a bite out of him if you wanted.” He places one of his legs on the armrest. “Let’s go get her. We’ll go in the night, and then we’ll be out of there.”

“You want me to kidnap her?” I ask him incredulously.

“They’re just wolves we’re fucking hybrids. So I know you have morals and that keeps you from going after them but good news, I don’t. Let me do the dirty work.”

“I don’t want us to be enemies.” I growl.

“Well well share the girl then. Some people like it.”

I grab him by the collar of his shirt over the table.

“Don’t ever talk about her like that.” I tell him as I let my fangs out.

He nods and raises his hands in surrender.

“I was just trying to help but I think I’ll let you handle this however you want since it’s your mate.”

He walks out of the office slamming the door.

Leila, Sasha and I are siblings but not in the sense that you mean. We were young wolves when we crossed paths with Raya, she was desperate for children and she made us her children. First Leila, her parents had just died in a rogue attack while traveling. She was 17 years old. Then there was me, son of Alpha, I was injured and left for dead outside our borders when I was 20 and she made me her son. And finally, Sasha joined us when he was born. His mother died in childbirth and she waited until his eighteenth birthday to make him one of us. This explains why the three of us are so different. Leila is tall, very thin, with golden blonde hair and big blue eyes. Sacha has tanned skin, amazing for a vampire, black hair and hazel eyes. And me well, I have the chance to have kept my piercing blue eyes.
Some people worship us, others hate us but we got used to it. As for me, I have been a hybrid for 200 years already. I still have the ability to transform into a wolf, superhuman strength, a highly developed sense of hearing and smell, speed and of course the eternity of vampires. And soon, Aria will share that eternity with me.
Maybe I should listen to them and go get her, explain everything and let her make her choice. No, I couldn’t do that once I got here, I couldn’t let her go back.

“Ask to meet this alpha, go to this pack and explain about the attack. And then let Aria make her choice.”

My mother pulls me out of my thoughts, I hadn’t even heard her come in, too deep in my own thoughts.

“Oh. You are here”

“Yes, always for you, son.”

She still looks beautiful with her long black hair and blue eyes, forever 25 years old.

“Do you think this could work?” I ask her.

“Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” She simply says as she walks up to me and strokes my hair. “We have to fight for the things we want. The moon goddess didn’t give you a mate to give up on.”

“I never thought...”

“She didn’t abandon you despite what I did to you. I know what you were thinking all tis time.” She cuts me off. “I can’t wait to meet this little human.”

“Soon...I hope.” I reply with a smile.
