Chapter 50

**ADAM**

Ever since he overheard a bit of our conversation, Austin has been on edge. I explain to him everything we talked about with Aria before he arrived, but he's still convinced that I don't think he's capable of protecting her in his pack. I know for a fact that he would give his life to her if the opportunity arose, because I would do the exact same thing, without hesitation.

Aria is feeling much better than she did two days ago when she thought she had a temporary stomach ache. She got up at the crack of dawn to practice with Austin and Cassius in wolf form. He shifted for the first time yesterday and he is impressive, very strong and big. He's going to make an outstanding hybrid. He and Leila talked about his full transformation and she wants to give him time to get used to his wolf form before she bites him. I'm happy for her because she deserves to be happy but I'm sad for Sasha, I can't imagine how he must feel about being without a mate when we found them.

I'm immersed in my work, improving safety and trying to find a way to get our blood supply to us safely.

The more I think about it, I think we didn't get delivered properly but it could have been worse, we could have contaminated the blood before it got to us. I have to find a way to make sure that everything is done correctly.

When I think that werewolves were able to stop our blood supply, I think they would have no qualms about slaughtering us all here, children included. It makes me sick just thinking about it. It's my duty to protect them all, so I asked Fares and Alex to join me so we could go over our security arrangements. I want us to set up the most reliable system possible.
Sasha enters my office without knocking and sits across from me. I expect him to speak to me but he says absolutely nothing.
"Did you want to talk about something?" I ask him after a few moments and because I am unable to concentrate with his head in front of me.

"What Mom told us...it's been bothering me. I'm afraid for our community." He confesses to me as he lowers his head.

"That's normal, but you know I will always do my best to protect everyone who lives here."

"I know and I want to help. Tell me what I can do and I will do it."

"All right." I pause as I study his face. "Alex and Fares are due to arrive in five minutes, we're going to check in if you want you can stay." I tell him and he nods.

I'm looking at my computer screen with the different route options from the hospital to the community when my younger brother clears his throat.

I look up and raise a questioning eyebrow.

"It pisses me off that you and Leila found your mates. To tell you the truth, it's more the fact that I haven't found them that pisses me off." He sighs. "We used to be the three of us in the same basket, but now I feel like I'm on my own."

"You know very well that this doesn't change our relationship at all. You know that, right?"

"Yeah, but..." He grunts in frustration. "Aria and Cassius are great and I wonder if I'll have a chance to find someone."

"You have eternity to find that person. Look how long it took Leila and I."

"Yeah." He tells me not convinced.

**ARIA**

After my training with Austin and Cassius, I head to my room to shower while the boys continue to practice a bit. These two have become tight as nails. I'm glad, but an hour of training with these two is more than enough.

After my shower I wrap a towel around me and I look at my calendar because I still don't have my period and since I'm here I tend to lose track of time. 5 days .... 5 fucking days... I'm 5 fucking days late.

I feel nauseous again, I run to the bathroom, dropping the towel in the process. After washing my hands and brushing my teeth, I put on a pair of cycling shorts and an oversized white t-shirt. I can't fucking believe I might be pregnant. How can the moon goddess think this is good timing? I guess I'll have no choice but to accept Leila's offer.

The door opens abruptly as I lie on the bed, one arm covering my eyes.

"Well it looks like we wore you out." Austin says to me and I hear him take off his shirt.
I sit down on the bed. "Yeah, I'm exhausted." I tell him softly, hoping he won't suspect I'm hiding something from him.
He takes off his shorts before walking into the bathroom. "Everything okay?" He asks me with a frown.

"Yes don't worry about it. Just tired from training." I tell him with a small smile.

"Okay, I'll be quick and then we can do whatever you want." He tells me before going into the bathroom.
I grab my phone and quickly text Leila and hope Cass doesn't see it.

*Me: Can you find me what we talked about?*

I get an answer instantly.

*Leila: I'll make up an excuse to get together with you after dinner. *

*Me: Thank you.*

*Leila: You're welcome. Double sister-in-law.*

I smiled as I watched her answer. A Part of me hopes that I will have a negative outcome because I want to enjoy Austin and Adam for a while but I would still be happy if the outcome was positive. This whole Riley thing is bothering me, I'd like to know why she did all this.

"I read you like an open book, my love." Austin tells me as he walks out of the bathroom, a towel around his waist. "You're thinking about Riley."

"That's exactly right."
